His songs are pure poetry. And he is so authentic in every way. To express his love and loss and sadness so honestly on a stage takes a lot of courage I think.
I am so happy that you understood the poetry from Germany, that you felt it with your heart. Herbert Grönemeyer is one of the great German poets of the last decades, and he really knows how to use the power of words. Another great poet is Reinhard Mey, whose great time was in the 1970s and 1980s. Not long ago, he re-recorded one of his old songs with the best contemporary singer-songwriters from Germany, "Nein, Meine Söhne geb' ich nicht", a powerful anti-war song.
This was his comeback tour-concert after his brother and his wife died in between a few days! He took a 4 years break from making music, which he did since the late 1970s btw. ... he came back with his album "Mensch" ("Human") and this was one of the new songs, ... great german artists, who has of course other, up-speed and more funny-entertaining songs, too.
We were at this tour and I'd say almost everybody had tears in their eyes, because they knew this song was for his deceased wife. You can also see his grief when he finished the song.
Thanks, Loud Bro, for your reaction and response! Much appreciated... Yes, truly a great (sad and personal/private) song - and hats off and kudos to those who wrote and provided the English subtitles - well done! The message, meaning and emotion were conveyed accurately 🤗
Hi, great video. Thanks. Could u make a reaction to the following song, please? Its a hymne for peace. One of the most powerfull songs ever. "Reinhard Mey & Freunde - Nein, meine Söhne geb' ich nicht [Offizielles Video]"
His wife died, and bis brother too, within one week. What a great job, to write a song about it, to never forget them.

On November 5th 1998 his wife passed away due to breast cancer. It is an homage to his dead wife. (4 days before, his Brother.)

He also had a role in the movie "Das Boot".
I regret more things that I didn't do and didn't say to people than the other way around.
