Another great poet is Reinhard Mey, whose great time was in the 1970s and 1980s. Not long ago, he re-recorded one of his old songs with the best contemporary singer-songwriters from Germany, "Nein, Meine Söhne geb' ich nicht", a powerful anti-war song.
We were at this tour and I'd say almost everybody had tears in their eyes, because they knew this song was for his deceased wife. You can also see his grief when he finished the song.
This song is a declaration of love to his wife, who died of cancer. It is the most beautiful and at the same time saddest song on the entire album. I think the subtitles only capture so much of the depth of this song.
Tis summer i lost a very good gitlfried of mine due to a fatal brain desease. We have not spent much time during the last years , always busy. We thought we have much time left , how wrong i was ..... enjoy as much time as you can with your beloved ones is the sad lesson.
