It's simple, Kamala Harris just crumbled at the most crucial moment, when Tulsi Gabbard delivered that blistering take down during the debate, she simply had no answer, all she could say against strong accusations on her record was "I did what I had to..." and that was pathetic. Yes Tulsi's attacks were strong, but Kamala's response is what sank her.
Kamala played both sides of the fence early on in her presidential race. I understand it, but I didn't like it. She flipped flopped on too many issues during those CNN town halls. She just didn't get me to buy into her political message because I couldn't figure out what she stood for.

It's her very public record as AG of California that did her in. The more of it that gets exposed the lower she goes in the polls. That descent started at the 2nd debate when Tulsi Gabbard let it be known. That plus, her campaign doesn't have to my knowledge at least a central message that really resonates and gets the masses excited.
Mass incarceration should not be rewarded. Mass incarceration is slavery and deserves nothing but contempt and loathing. Kamala Harris used mass incarceration to create slave labor to fight California wildfires, which is wrong on two levels. One, keeping inmates beyond their release dates for labor purposes, how evil. Two, not paying PROFESSIONALLY trained fire fighters a standard wage which likely resulted in more severe wildfire destruction. She not only caused harm to Black people in California, but she came right out and said she wouldn't do anything beneficial just for Black people. This makes her worse than useless. And now, Tulsi Gabbard is polling higher than her in New Hampshire. So...
How would she be great in a debate with Trump when she couldn't even defend herself against Tulsi Gabbard? She and her team should've been prepared for that question the minute she launched her campaign. All she could do was attack Tulsi in a baseless claim because she had no defense.
The media calls her African American however, India-Jamican born in America is accurate. Although her father being Jamican has African ancestors. He nor her mother were born in America and don't have the American/Slave/Lynching/Civil Rights protest history, the majority of, American Blacks have. That makes it hard for American Blacks to identify with her as being a True Black American. And it also makes it harder for her to identify even if she did go to a HBCU. ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE my friends is power!

She also created reentry initiatives and restorative justice programs to keep mostly black offenders from returning to the prison system. Karen, can you please explain the term "Bernie Bro?" Personally, I like Sanders because of his moral clarity and consistency. I'm a progressive. Just turned 41. Bernie has been pushing for unions, health care, affordable education, civil rights, green rights, and an end to the prison industrial complex for literally all of my life. When I look at the rest of the field I see many "Johnny come lately's," folks who were centrists a decade ago and "talk" progressive now, because Bernie pushed the conversation back to the Left.
Throughout my life I've watched the erosion of unions and people's pensions. College has become unaffordable and out of reach for many, especially for Black folks (I'm a 19-year educator and a professor at Cal State San Bernardino in California). Wages have not risen consistently with the cost of living. We indeed have a billionaire class and an oligarchy. Sanders is the only one who's been willing to speak truth to power, even when it wasn't popular. The term "Bernie Bro" seems to suggest that folks haven't thought critically or seriously about why they support Sanders; as if they are knock offs who simply want a free lunch. You may not be implying that, but I'd love to have a polite discussion about it. We all know how crucial this election is.

I noticed someone who was walking out with them in the hall take off his Kamala shirt, and hand it to someone else and then put a ball-cap on as if to say I want nothing else to do with this, which leads me to believe a few or many are just there to be paid 😥 (Either that or he was doing someone a favor but considering he left afterwards shows me he doesn't care) . I understand the doubts people have about Kamala Harris and they're legitimate concerns, but if we over analyse them out of contention, for me that clears the way for Trump. I'm not saying lower standards to that of Trump supporters do for him, but if they can overlook everything Trump has done so far, we can overlook that she is not fully African American and in an interracial marriage, its not as if we have many black candidates that have a real chance of progressing.
people overlooked Trump's affect, demeanor and oppressive stances bc he was not part of the political establishment. he trashed politicians for doing "nothing" and being failures. this resonated with people bc overall ppl are frustrated. if he had the same message as other politicians, we would have had a different outcome. most candidates have adopted portions or remixed progressive platforms introduced by Bernie Sanders when he kicked off his campaign in 2016. their ability to deviate and manipulate the messages to appeal to establishment politicians makes them favorites with their peers and lobbyists but it falling deaf on the ears of regular folk.

I agree that there are issues in her record, but such is the case for anyone whose operates in and affects the criminal justice system (including government officials). She also has evolved on some of her earlier stances on some issues, as is the case for just about all of the democratic candidates. Bernie Sanders policies are fine, but his recent advice for black people who get pulled over by police is to ask for a badge number and check your demeanor. He has improved but still struggles with talking about racial inquality. I will vote for whoever the democratic nominee is because it is my only option.

She was a prosecutor who targeted the African American community,’ prosecuted poor women of color, and was rewarded for it. Barrack h Obama approved. Keep in mind, he went to Harvard, not Howard.
She went to Howard, but so do many overseers.
Andre Howard-Mitchell She has identified herself as both a African American and a woman, and both are valid. She did not “target” the African American community. What did some of us expect her to do? Just sit back and NOT do her job? Just give people a pass because she was a black woman who was a prosecutor? Also, you obviously don’t know about the re-entry program that she put in place to combat these issues. Lastly, if nothing else, what people fail to realize is that there is a difference between a law enforcer and a law maker. When she was a DA and AG she was a law enforcer, which meant that she was bound by the laws that were already established. When she became a Senator, she became a law maker, which meant that she was now in a position to CHANGE the laws that she, at one time, had to enforce, and she’s been doing that.
Was she a great candidate when she was not fighting for the systemic pushback a black society when it came to her being a California prosecutor? Because right now you be semen really really biased and holding up on identity politics
