After 44 years of listening to the many different group and instrument variations of RED... It remains Konsistent It remains Konsistent It remains consistent !!
I guess if you're a left handed picker you're out of the group. I love this rendition it really illustrates that the inspiring power of the composition remain consistent plugged or unplugged.
I am left handed and play right handed. I never understood this story of playing "left handed", you just have to take up the guitar in the position it has in the case, as everyone else do, and start learning to play... [I played also the drums, with the hi-hat on the left, as usual, and never crossed the hands to play the snare drum and the hi-hat simultaneously, just played every component with the hand on its side, there is no reason to create superfluous complications].
RDE Lutherie Mmmh... I can't believe that a child could be born with a blocked exclusive attitude to use the right or left hand. Most of the instruments involve the use of both hands - should they build left-handed clarinets or saxophones? Or left-handed pianos?
Well, Red is far from the most difficult of Crimson songs. I understand that doesn't mean much, but try this with Larks' Tongues I or Fracture... it'll be a mess.
@@artysanmobile yes but an orchestra has all their individual parts to play. And small mistakes go unnoticed. When all are playing the same part the slightest error stands out
just as powerful as the version on Red, this is truly beyond belief, and proof that acoustic instruments can be just as powerful as electric, and yes I do realize these are amplified, but the point remains the same.
I was at Central Park NY when King Crimson & Golden Earing appeared 1973/4? 18 yrs old and curios about meaning of life. Now 67 yrs old and young As I heard a shofar played, some time past - 7 years? The sound made me as happy as an innocent child! I look forward to that when I get to heaven. You see I'm absolutely forgiven. But still a work in progress! Calvary's Mount is of inestemable amount!
My interpretation of Red and this particular song is that of a Harley shifting gears. It is also a black album meaning that this was an abstract of heavy metal and the red line meter on the rear of the album meant one was supposed to pump up the music. King Crimson always tended to be like a sandwich meaning they were kind of crusty and hard to swallow at the beginnings and ends with more mellower stuff in between.
Presentation is everything.I feel this piece is more powerful when a single guitar is playing it.However,we know what that sounds like.In this setting,We know less about what the experience will be like.Thats what makes live music exciting. To my ears based soley on this video and not in person, this presentation of red is more diffused...softer.I don't know if the minor milisecond timing discrepencies between the players is of any benifit.Visually interesting yes...but for how long?
Poor guy 4th from the left looks like he's on probation. "...just sit there and look like you're playing . Ok you can play two chords, twice if you really must but no more. Next time no sneakers, black shoes like we told you. Would Lord Fripp wear sneakers? We don't think so!"
mmm.. it's like 1 guitar through 6 stereo chorus, in digital and low resolution of youtube is quite annoying. certainly live it is a completely different effect
The intellectual rationalist , Fripp , what is he trying to say/proof here ? Progressive it was , twenty five years ago .................... next band please !

I c what u did there
@@cyberserk5614 but where you there to see it?
well your very indisciplined person :D
And I like it!
It remains KConsistent ;-)
More of a semi-circle, innit?
Arch or horseshoe lol
A crescent?
Red is one of my favourite Crimson pieces, - I really like this version too! - Very well performed!
Superb! This configuration really brings out all the harmonic and rhythmic subtleties of the piece.

Scott Matheson These groups have regularly had left handed players in the past - it looks a bit weird, but it works out fine. :)

No. You sit at the end of the (semi) circle. And that way you're first in the queue for the bar.
Fripp is left-handed...
Восторг, восхищение, воспарение, возникновение, возвышение, возведение, возделывание...!
That's some rendition. To get 12 guys to play a difficult piece and keep perfectly in time is quite a feat
Well, Red is far from the most difficult of Crimson songs. I understand that doesn't mean much, but try this with Larks' Tongues I or Fracture... it'll be a mess.
Umm…. That’s what musicians do. All the time. You’ve seen an orchestra, no?
@@artysanmobile yes but an orchestra has all their individual parts to play. And small mistakes go unnoticed.
When all are playing the same part the slightest error stands out
Wow! They look like they are having as much fun as RF playing this ;-)
+drob281159 Maybe they thought this was discipline
:-)
Yeah! They're all sitting down! :P
Proper Musicians :-)
I LOVE that comment because it’s hilarious. Fripp usually shows zero emotion.
I love Fripp’s music.
Long Live Fripp and KC. (I know he retired)
Lovely and gorgeous and brilliant.
+Robert Winters And crazy.
More like a genuine intimate relationship of the be😊 Best of their Craft
3:39,frightening.And the ending is amazing.Really fine work throughout the entire piece.
Authentic. Loads of space and detail.
Played like this, it sounds as a Mike Oldfiled project. Pretty good!
perfect rendition.
Such a brilliant composition.
Tight! It has got to be even more challenging to keep this kind of complex piece together with so many performers.
Red es tema de aquellos. Muy bueno. Gracias por compartirlo.
just as powerful as the version on Red, this is truly beyond belief, and proof that acoustic instruments can be just as powerful as electric, and yes I do realize these are amplified, but the point remains the same.
This qualifies as classical music!
Amazing. I love the way each guitar adds another layer. A sensational pice of music just made better.
Un clásico súper interpretado de guitarras Único.
Wonderfull version
Amazing. The bridge made me remember the lead-in to Construktion of Light. So long ago.
Excellent !! And on their free time they can form a soccer team and play versus The Square.
FENOMENALE ROBERT FRIPP
Awesome sounds!
Wish I had been there. A massive amount of talent.
I was at Central Park NY when King Crimson & Golden Earing appeared 1973/4?
18 yrs old and curios about meaning of life.
Now 67 yrs old and young
As I heard a shofar played, some time past - 7 years?

I look forward to that when I get to heaven.
You see I'm absolutely forgiven. But still a work in progress!
Calvary's Mount is of inestemable amount!
Great song choice
Excelente versión!
Really good and very well done to them all.
Super
Классно! Не думал, что чистый акустический звук для Red будет уместен.
superb!
Classic awesome🤟
Great guitar orchestra.
Superb!
Heavy !!!❤
So f***g great!
Awesome!!!
These students aren't professional musicians, but they've gained a great deal of talent.

The guitar semicircle of Europe ;)
Fan-tastic!
GENIAL
this is just hilarious!
such a dangerous place
congrats, I loved it !

I´m lefthanden ,
Time to switch son.
Bravo!!
Nice depth of sound - suits the piece I think.
Very well executed! Very close to the original!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantástico !
I love this!! Do these guys have any albums out? Discogs couldn't find anything. Great stuff!!
Que buen Registro!
Ganz wunderbar!!!
My!!, how would sound the entire circle. Cool!.
Regalazo Mau!
If they were horn players then there would be music stands EVERYWHERE!
So is the one guy tapping his foot the concertmaster?
Enthralling!
bravo!
Frippin Out!
No thumbs down.
Poor guy 4th from the left looks like he's on probation.
"...just sit there and look like you're playing . Ok you can play two chords, twice if you really must but no more. Next time no sneakers, black shoes like we told you. Would Lord Fripp wear sneakers? We don't think so!"
More importantly, does the Lord wear shorts.
Gabagool, here!
No left handed players allowed.
mmm.. it's like 1 guitar through 6 stereo chorus, in digital and low resolution of youtube is quite annoying. certainly live it is a completely different effect
pas une ride à cette musique composée il y plus de trente ans
+Philippe VASSEUR 40 ans !
Nice
great, what's the name of guitarists?
Great :)
That should have been "The Guitar Half Circle of Europe".
But the performance and arrangement are brilliant!
I'm sure they can cover Circle Jerks
You don't see the other half?
I can hear it
Twelve stacked piezos. The sound of nightmares...
FRIPP SCARES ME..... .. .. .... .. . M .
Aha!
Perhaps it's the other half I see?
The semi circle of 5ths.
And a surprise G
Revelatory, instructive. ~ Come check out Gag-bit Vinyl in Bushwick NYC for 80s/post punk/new wave. ~ :-D
Τι να πεις για τον Robert Fripp !!!!
Yummmm, Red with a hint of J.G. Bennett
Nobody commenting on the horrific audio artifacts? Sounds like it's been mangled through a timestretching algorithm.
😃
It sounds like a Chorus pedal
the ovation tone is immediately recognizable and horrible
why do even need that many? They are nearly all playing the same thing I think 3 could do this really.
You would know
Mark Keen So as to compliment the musical counterpoint of the other musicians who tend not to play parts that are identical to each other. Why?
DJANGO BEAT You have to go to an Symphonic Orchestra concert!
Christian Cazabonne I have actually and even played wih 1 once.
+DJANGO BEAT (DJANGOBEAT-TV) And you have never wanted to hear the guitar equivalent of a string section?
this is not 9gag
Red is about speed, hot metal, darkness, but these guys managed to make musak of it.
And they look the way they play it: completely joyless.
lol you should see the way Fripp plays if this looks joyless to you
A for effort :)
I hear a Yes Lick @ 1;15 from gates Of Delirium
+Roy Scoutz Bill Bruford's influence, no doubt. ;-}~ come check out Gag-bit Vinyl in Bushwick NYC for 80s/post punk/new wave ~ :-D
Bill Bruford wasn't in Yes when Gates of Delirium was recorded.
Muzak... noise for elevator!!!
Awesome. Too bad it misses the incredible drumming of Bill Bruford.
Toni Lindgren and Reina are better looking.
This is stupid. I mean, what's the point?
The intellectual rationalist , Fripp , what is he trying to say/proof here ? Progressive it was , twenty five years ago .................... next band please !
Jan Panhuis This is as prog as prog can possibly be. Someone had to do it. Because that is what humans do.
There's no time limit
Boring. The cult of personality!
what an horror !!!!! one of my favorite from KC is really massacred p___q
Contrived shite.....a bad James Bond theme.....and I mean bad!
They picked the worst song in the album
