Absolutely not proper replacement, this is the cause of damaged injectors. because, Removing the old filter causes the remnants of dirt to fall into the tank, it should suck out the old fuel, insert the new filter, and then pour the new fuel.
Best example of how NOT TO CHANGE FUEL FILTER.. you dont need to fill diesel inside filter!! you just now put dirty diesel in a whole which suppose to have ONLY clean diesel! When you put keys into car - fuel pump will pump diesel into that filter. You wasted new filter and made it crap! Put unfiltered, contaminated fuel into clean part. That filter case had shit in it and you just pour that shit right into the middle of filter. GOOD job...

No need to prime filter or top up diesel. Did this today and just turned key and of she went.
