Used this run as a guide for the Four Gold Stars on PS4 The corner jumps were tricky, but I was able to nail most of them eventually. Except for the second generator jump i could not get it for some reason, had to come back with static jump. Finished the run at 1:41. Thanks for the super helpful video!
The randomly generate layout on each walkthrought is a surprisingly fact I didn't realize. We all dig to wherever there are ores without realizing it's a different level layout. Feel like this is the first game that does this impression. 40:41 Ouch. Didn't see that coming!
I used this vid to help get Master Prospector, couldn't do the big wall corner skips but your strategy for everything else helped out a lot, 2hours 4 minutes!
I'm at 27 mins in and I'm loving your run so far. I picked this game up a few days ago and beat it with 3 stars(cause i died). This makes me want to try the speed run deal. Nice work my friend!

I can absolutely not get those corner jumps to work, how do you all manage to do that? I play on ps5 and my fiancé and I tried for hours it just does not work o.o i dont know if it is even possible do make it through the game in 2:30h without using that it is frustrating
if you still haven't done the achievement you can try to boost jump with dynamite, it will slow the run considerably due to the 200$ you get from the dark matter being so important to speed things up, but it's way more consistent, just make sure you have enough hp to survive the dynamite explosion Essencially what you do is put a dynamite down, prepare a steam jump and the moment the dynamite explodes you do the steam jump so that the explosion boosts you up to the generator area

I used this to do a run but my first attempt died at the Gen 2 room because I was low on health going in and I risked it. Also I never knew about how you can press the home button on switch things before I died so o gotta restart. Edit: On my second attempt, I used the glitch to make deaths not counted by exiting and I finished 4 gold stars in 1:51 minutes with 20102 gold, 165 orbs, and zero deaths.
Been playing through Steamworld Dig 2 recently after completing it years ago. Played the heck out of the original, and figured a speedrun would satiate my need to play it again.
Yes if you buy too many portals, or spend too much money on consumables. But money is pretty generous. Just try to take advantage of the portals you have already placed and the default ones. You should be good

God damnit! My run sits at 2 hours and 23 minutes and I' m still missing 7 orbs for the gold star ranking.
