They have the same specs engine-wise. It's handling where the SH (Super Handling) would have the advantage. In a straight line it's up to the driver if they both are driving a stick shift.
@@Exhaust_power its the same engine if anything the SH is heavier but not enough to make a difference lol they are the same just a different model lol Base and not base idk how they could debate this lol now if there was a Type R or SI i could understand lol
The base is 200 hp its not a 2021 hellcat these are project cars to have fun with because you have a passion for it. These people haven't put many mods on the car but look up the fastest prelude ir something and it smokes all modern cars. Its a passion for turning a 7 second 0-60 car into a 1.8 second 0-60 thats the point and fun. Plus the cars are cheap anyways im rambling.
I just bought a 2000 base prelude few simple mods only issue its an auto tranny. None the less h22 dohc vtecs are just simply fun little pocket rockets you can throw parts at and are considered rare in a sense but what do you currently drive?

I believe the Type SH is also supposed to have 5-10 more HP than the base model, to try and offset the weight of the ATTS system, about 200 lbs
@@AzumaEnthusiast doesn’t have extra hp
SH models were rated with 5 fewer HP I believe.
@@dmanatan 97-98 preludes auto or manual both came with 195hp. 99-01 the autos still had 195hp but the manuals had 200hp. Type SH only came in manual.
@@AzumaEnthusiastno.. all US preludes has the same HP.
ik it doesn’t make sense to race these in this setting but that was fun to watch
Any close race is a good race. And sh vs base has always been a debate among prelude owners.

Those cars rip!
Ya mine flys 5th gen with super chip my 0to60 is 4.7 seconds 10.6 to 100mph ya she rips
Should have down shifted i got a 5th gen and when i race it like that it screams all the way to 200kph super chip helps with that tho
So who won?
Sh was the white one pretty sure it beat the base model
the camera car won
The base model won (eucalyptus green) it pulled out clearly
Mainly since its lighter and is able to apply more wheel horsepower
Yeah
Those SH models are far more trouble than they're worth imho.
Give me 4WS and an LSD box any day.
Do you know what modifications the 1997 model had?
