15:12 you can actually just solve the last puzzle and you don't need to solve it 5 times. My PC crashed shortly after this section on my second playthrough, so while I vaguely remembered the solution after I loaded my save I solved the first 4 all at once, so I only assume it must also work for the 5th. That's a solid 17 seconds you could have saved.
This isn't quite true. While you can use the same solution for all the puzzles here, you can't do them all at the same time, the game doesn't let you. And even when you use the final solution on the first puzzle it still requires you to do all of them.
Man, great run, but I feel a bit sad watching this particular game being speedrun. This is such a rare game in that it invites to calm, contemplation, reason, deduction... Doesn't feel like a proper homage to this great game. Great run though!
@@jahralt Well i noticed in speedruns that the "typical" ending is the usual one since it is the one that is "more fun" to perfect and stuff, hence them dividing that secret true one as a different thing.. because then it just breaks the fun of doing rest of the game fast
No, "any%" means doesn't matter how much percent of the game you complete, as long as you get to the ending of the game. Easter egg ending is not allowed though.
Wow that's not actually all that long. I bet in a couple years people will be crazy fast at this game... I always love looking at speedrunning communities like the only for Jedi Academy, who even in recent years have found faster ways to complete the game.
Because this is any%, that means you don't have to do everything in the game, just do what is necessary to beat it. To beat this game I think you need 6 lasers, not all 11 or whatever the total was : )
@@BaconNuke I spoilered some things for myself with this game. There are environmental puzzles as well as the puzzle boards. Some require timing. One such bit involves a video room where part of the video lines up with the surroundings. It's an hour in! No means to skip it...

unless you have a really good puzzle solving skill
They are selected from a predefined set of puzzles, so you still can just memorize them all.

What about the desert, studio, quarry, and treetop lasers? Why aren't those necessary?
