The audience and the other contestants had never heard Dimash sing before. Dimash was up first, on the first episode of 14, in this 2017 season. Dimash had already won many international competitions when he went to China. Dimash was already famous in his own country Kazakhstan. After this performance in China (it was downloaded 600 million times after the show), he woke up to find body guards outside of his hotel room door. He went on to have a successful career in China and the rest of the world. You should hear him today five years on, he now has a range of over 7 octaves, every register is beautiful. He is now 28. He sings in 13 languages and in all genres (including rock). He is considered by world famous vocal coaches as being the greatest vocalist of all time. He is a perfect technical singer but also a great performer, who always conveys the emotion of the song. He had his first solo concert in New York City at the Barclay Center back in 2019. It was a sold out show, and fans from over 60 countries came together to see that amazing concert. Well Kennedy, I will tell you that if you react to more of this amazing performer, his “dears “ which is what he calls his fans, will bombard you with information and links to his performances and you will see an explosion of subscribers. This was a 14 week talent show and he was the only non-professional singer there. That is when his career took off. His first album reached triple platinum in 1 hour. Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He was 22 in this performance and is 28 now (only gotten better). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018 and then "Stranger" 2021, "Ikanaide" 2021, "Adagio" 2017, "Ave Maria" 2021. Dimash sings everything from opera to rap and he does it all brilliantly. He is full of surprises and spectacular, almost unbelievable at times, performances. You would do yourself (and your channel) a big favor by taking a long, deep trip into the rabbit hole that is Dimashland. You will never regret doing so.
This is a man from Kazakhstan, singing his very first song, which is in French on a Chinese show. They are not his people. They have never even heard him before. He came on stage that day and blew China up with his vocals. He was 22 in this video and is now 28. His vocal range is somewhere between 7 and 8 octaves. He Began his classical vocal training at age 5 and continued full time until age 25 and still returns to his vocal coach from time to time. He is considered the greatest vocalist in the world and this song only shows a tiny bit of his ability. You may hear him sing Operatically, in more pop sounds, imitating MJ, being cheeky... He is Eurasian by DNA. He is tall at 6'3" and is brilliant He is currently completing his Doctoral Thesis. A voracious reader. and an athlete. He can play at least 7 instruments and shocks you to your core from time to time. He is an honorable and devoted man to his grandparents, parents, siblings and those he grew up around.

Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He appears here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. "I Am A Singer" is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the show by points each week. At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against these professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition. I discovered Dimash with this same performance of what has now become his signature song SOS (one of the most difficult French songs ever composed for singers) over 5 yrs ago. Those are not his peeps. Those are his fellow competitors in the largest viewed talent competition in the world, China's annual I Am Singer. It is an annual competition of China's very best singers and artists from various genres competing for the title of Chinese Singer of the Year. If you had paid more attention, you would have read Dimash had sung many times and had won EVERY previous singing competition he had entered. During his intro, it was also explained that he was the first non-Chinese special invitee (he is from Kazakhstan-making him Kazakh) and he was the youngest ever competitor. The people backstage had never seen him as well as the audience. As a relative unknown and not expected to last long into the competition, he OPENED the 14-15 week competition with this performance. He required bodyguards the remainder of the competition. Both his parents are professional artists and reknowned teachers of music in his home country. At 5, Dimash was discovered to have perfect pitch and began his formal music and singing training in both comtemporary and classical styles (including opera as u surmised). His range at this time of video, 2017 was over 6 octaves. Since that time, it has lengthened. His highest recorded sustained note being a D8, one note higher than a standard piano contains. He has performed songs in 15 languages; Kazakh, Russian, English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Serbian, Turkish, Sicilian, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, Arabic, and Japanese. Besides his native Kazakh tongue, he speaks fluent Russian, which is still an official language in most former Soviet Republics. Dimash is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin, which he says is a challenging language to learn. Dimash plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums. He usually performs for more than two hours during live concerts and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles. A good professional vocalist has a range of about 3 octaves. I laughed a few times with your interpretation of Dimash’s performance: he was competing for the first time in China. He had competed on other stages, but this was further from home and he was only 21/22. The people behind the scenes were competitors: not exactly his people, but he did make friends with a few of them. When you commented on Queen’s Love of My Life, I immediately thought you should check out a performance Dimash did in 2018 (same program I believe as a guest) with Super Vocal Boys of Queen Medley. Stellar harmonies! Back to this performance, SOS is in French and Dimash speaks (as primary languages) Kazakh and Russian. @9:28, Dimash's grandmother took him when he was 5yrs old to the most prestigious music school in Aktobe where they are from, bc she saw his absolute love for music and he was immediately accepted, he now has his Master's in composition and classical music and is getting his PhD in contemporary music now. He plays around a dozen instruments, and now has an 8 octave range! Back when he did the Singer Competition he had a 6ish octave range. He also has now sang in 15 languages and speaks 3 languages plus semi knows about 2 others. His mom is an opera singer and his dad was a more contemporary musician and he kind of manages them as well. And now Dimash's brother has started playing guitar with him too! It's a family thing 😅. But he's also opened a school for young musicians and he does so very much more for everyone! Even the flowers he gets, you'll see later, he gives to hospitals and old folks homes! Currently working on his PhD in musicology. The people backstage are not his people but the other contestants who have never heard him before. This show (Hunan tv, China) was a reality singing competition for established award-winning Chinese singers (Singer 2017), where Dimash (yes, you pronounced it correctly) was brought in as a wild card since he is from Kazakhstan and most Chinese had never heard of him. After he signed up with a Chinese agent who opened a Weibo (Chinese Twitter) account for him, he got around 1,000 followers, mostly Chinese of Kazakh ethnicity like Alai, the guy who introduced him. After this performance aired, literally overnight, that number jumped to 2.4 million! The tv people called him and told him not to go out as he could get mobbed. By the third day, he insisted he had to get out, so the tv station sent a bodyguard over (“what for? I’m a Kazakh!”), and a cameraman too. Which is why we now have a record of him walking in the market and being recognized and indeed, mobbed for pix and autographs. However great this performance was, it only shows the tip of the iceberg of Dimash’s talent and art. These are all live performances. Then Ikinaide (2021Jazz Festival). This song is in Japanese. It's a tribute to the Japanese people. It's his first time singing in Japanese. There is a Chinese song from the "I Am Singer" competition in 2017 (back story can be found on the Gloria Wu channel). He was sick while singing this song in China. Same music as the Japanese song. The Chinese borrowed the music for "Autumn Strong". This is a true story. Then Daybreak also a true story.
Correction: Dimash was sick when he sang Daybreak. He had to have medical treatment. Someone said he had 5 shots in his throat. The doctor said "no high notes". There is another version of Daybreak in I believe 2018. after I Am Singer.

The audience and the other contestants had never heard Dimash sing before. Dimash was up first, on the first episode of 14, in this 2017 season. Dimash had already won many international competitions when he went to China. Dimash was already famous in his own country Kazakhstan. After this performance in China (it was downloaded 600 million times after the show), he woke up to find body guards outside of his hotel room door. He went on to have a successful career in China and the rest of the world.
You should hear him today five years on, he now has a range of over 7 octaves, every register is beautiful. He is now 28. He sings in 13 languages and in all genres (including rock). He is considered by world famous vocal coaches as being the greatest vocalist of all time. He is a perfect technical singer but also a great performer, who always conveys the emotion of the song. His live performances are no different to his studio versions, (He’s even better live, IMO!) he is that amazing!

This is a man from Kazakhstan, singing his very first song, which is in French on a Chinese
show. They are not his people. They have never even heard him before. He came on stage that day and blew China up with his vocals. He was 22 in this video and is now 28. His vocal range is somewhere between 7 and 8 octaves. He Began his classical vocal training at age 5 and continued full time until age 25 and still returns to his vocal coach from time to time.
He is considered the greatest vocalist in the world and this song only shows a tiny bit of his ability. You may hear him sing Operatically, in more pop sounds, imitating MJ, being cheeky...
He is Eurasian by DNA. He is tall at 6'3" and is brilliant He is currently completing his
Doctoral Thesis. A voracious reader. and an athlete. He can play at least 7 instruments and shocks you to your core from time to time.

This was a very enjoyable reaction. The song "S.O.S. (d'un Terrien en détresse)" is originally from a French-Canadian musical called 'Starmania' from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He appears here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. "I Am A Singer" is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the show by points each week.
At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against these professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition.
This was the very first episode of the competition, and Dimash had to go first because he was considered the weakest, given that he was completely unknown to the audience. After this performance, he became a superstar in China overnight. His Chinese competitors called him their "little imported brother." The other already well-known contestants were in absolute awe of him and joked that they might as well go home. Dimash won the first two episodes! He also won the 6th for his rendition of "Adagio," a song made famous by Lara Fabian.
First place overall went to the famous Chinese Sandy. Sandy's first album came out before Dimash was even born. Dimash took second place overall; however, he lost by a very narrow margin. He lost a lot of points for his performance of "Uptown Funk." Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a beloved star in China.
As part of the contest, all contestants/performers are required to perform one original song they have composed. Dimash sang "Unforgettable Day," a song he wrote when he was still in his teens - it's a love song. He sang in both the original Kazakh and in Chinese even though he did not speak Chinese at the time and had to have a translator with him throughout the competition.
Here is the order of Dimash's performances for The Singer 2017. The contest lasts 14 weeks, but Dimash has only 13 performances because he had already made it into the semi-finals by week 11.

I discovered Dimash with this same performance of what has now become his signature song SOS (one of the most difficult French songs ever composed for singers) over 5 yrs ago. Those are not his peeps. Those are his fellow competitors in the largest viewed talent competition in the world, China's annual I Am Singer. It is an annual competition of China's very best singers and artists from various genres competing for the title of Chinese Singer of the Year. If you had paid more attention, you would have read Dimash had sung many times and had won EVERY previous singing competition he had entered. During his intro, it was also explained that he was the first non-Chinese special invitee (he is from Kazakhstan-making him Kazakh) and he was the youngest ever competitor. The people backstage had never seen him as well as the audience. As a relative unknown and not expected to last long into the competition, he OPENED the 14-15 week competition with this performance. He required bodyguards the remainder of the competition. Both his parents are professional artists and reknowned teachers of music in his home country. At 5, Dimash was discovered to have perfect pitch and began his formal music and singing training in both comtemporary and classical styles (including opera as u surmised). His range at this time of video, 2017 was over 6 octaves. Since that time, it has lengthened. His highest recorded sustained note being a D8, one note higher than a standard piano contains. He turned 28 in May. Dimash is university trained in classical (bel canto) and contemporary music and has been training (voice and piano) since he was 5 years old. He has degrees in voice (classical), contemporary music, completed a Masters in composition and is currently completing a PhD in musicology. He was offered a position with Astana Opera but declined to follow a career in contemporary music, mixing classical elements and traditional Kazakh music with pop music, so yes, he does sound opera-like. You have barely even begun to scratch the surface of Dimash's talent and ability. He has performed songs in 15 languages; Kazakh, Russian, English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Serbian, Turkish, Sicilian, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, Arabic, and Japanese. Besides his native Kazakh tongue, he speaks fluent Russian, which is still an official language in most former Soviet Republics. Dimash is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin, which he says is a challenging language to learn. Dimash plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums. He usually performs for more than two hours during live concerts and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles.
A good professional vocalist has a range of about 3 octaves. According to some analysts, Diamsh's range is over 7 octaves (A1-D8), spanning across all four registers. He has continued to hone his skills and to fine-tune and perfect his already unbelievable abilities even more. There does not seem to be a limit to what he can achieve vocally. I am excited to follow his journey. Dimash may go down in history as the most extraordinary vocal talent known to man. Avoid any performance from "The World's Best." The show in L.A. was utterly disgraceful. The production team edited and cut all of Dimash's performances down to 2 minutes and cut out his Kazakh song for no reason.

I laughed a few times with your interpretation of Dimash’s performance: he was competing for the first time in China. He had competed on other stages, but this was further from home and he was only 21/22. The people behind the scenes were competitors: not exactly his people, but he did make friends with a few of them. Hi. In this song he sings in french "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" means (more or less) "SOS from an earthling in distress" (I used the word earthling to indicate a human being, living on planet earth. I'm not sure that this is the correct english word).
However there are songs from Dimash where he sings in russian, kazak, chinese, english, italian and japanese, may be also in spanish. May be he can sings also in other languages.
@9:28, Dimash's grandmother took him when he was 5yrs old to the most prestigious music school in Aktobe where they are from, bc she saw his absolute love for music and he was immediately accepted, he now has his Master's in composition and classical music and is getting his PhD in contemporary music now. He plays around a dozen instruments, and now has an 8 octave range! Back when he did the Singer Competition he had a 6ish octave range. He also has now sang in 15 languages and speaks 3 languages plus semi knows about 2 others. His mom is an opera singer and his dad was a more contemporary musician and he kind of manages them as well. And now Dimash's brother has started playing guitar with him too! It's a family thing 😅. But he's also opened a school for young musicians and he does so very much more for everyone! Even the flowers he gets, you'll see later, he gives to hospitals and old folks homes! He's now an Ambassador for Peace across the world now as well 🙏 ✨️ ❤ There's so very much more for you to see, hear,and learn from him!

The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and in 2017 made Dimash a mega-star overnight.
That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to TH-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).

👏👏👍👍🌷💕 Great reaction! Yes, Dimash was first classically trained before he went on to earn a bachelor’s in jazz and contemporary music, and a master’s in composition. Currently working on his PhD in musicology.
The people backstage are not his people but the other contestants who have never heard him before. This show (Hunan tv, China) was a reality singing competition for established award-winning Chinese singers (Singer 2017), where Dimash (yes, you pronounced it correctly) was brought in as a wild card since he is from Kazakhstan and most Chinese had never heard of him. After he signed up with a Chinese agent who opened a Weibo (Chinese Twitter) account for him, he got around 1,000 followers, mostly Chinese of Kazakh ethnicity like Alai, the guy who introduced him. After this performance aired, literally overnight, that number jumped to 2.4 million! The tv people called him and told him not to go out as he could get mobbed. By the third day, he insisted he had to get out, so the tv station sent a bodyguard over (“what for? I’m a Kazakh!”), and a cameraman too. Which is why we now have a record of him walking in the market and being recognized and indeed, mobbed for pix and autographs.
However great this performance was, it only shows the tip of the iceberg of Dimash’s talent and art. Wait till you see his other performances, and oh, his music videos which are pretty much mini movies! You can hear his lowest notes in Love Is Like a Dream, Stranger, and quite a few others. His highest recorded note- a D8- in Unforgettable Day (at the Gakku concert). But also quite amazing high notes too in Across Endless Dimensions and Drunken Concubine+Diva Dance (a duet with Li YuGang, a famous performer of traditional Chinese opera). His breathtaking vocal acrobatics in Sinful Passion. Since you mentioned Queen’s Love of My Life, you might want to check out Dimash’s performance with the Super Vocal Boys of a Queen Medley.
Apart from an extensive vocal range of around seven octaves and the ability to sing in any style or genre, including various ethnic genres, Dimash is quite a genius at mixing and matching these together in a new way. Dimash enrolled in music college at 5 yrs old. His vocal cords have received intense training for 20 yrs. He has two PHDs in different types of music. He is considered to be the best vocalist in the world and a master performer. He sings in many languages and plays many instruments. He is an exceptional singer and excels in martial arts and swimming. His mother is a world-class opera singer, and his father is also a well-known crooner in Asia. He was raised by his grandparents, which is customary in his home country of Kazakhstan. He appears in front of crowds of hundreds of thousands of people and is known to give the proceeds to charity. He is a very humble and shy man. He stands at 6 ft. 3 1/2" tall and weighs 200 pounds. He was 22yrs old at the time of this performance. His first album went platinum in 37 seconds.

This particular song is in French and is a famous French song but has now become sort of a signature song for dimash, but French is only one of 14 different languages that he has performed songs in.

His voice is like a drug😊 Have to get my fix. Across Endless Dimensions, Sinful Passion, Olimpico, Stranger (2021 New Wave Festival in Sochi Russia), Ave Maria also from the New Wave Festival. These are all live performances. Then Ikinaide (2021Jazz Festival). This song is in Japanese. It's a tribute to the Japanese people. It's his first time singing in Japanese. There is a Chinese song from the "I Am Singer" competition in 2017 (back story can be found on the Gloria Wu channel). He was sick while singing this song in China. Same music as the Japanese song. The Chinese borrowed the music for "Autumn Strong". This is a true story. Then Daybreak also a true story.

Correction: Dimash was sick when he sang Daybreak. He had to have medical treatment. Someone said he had 5 shots in his throat. The doctor said "no high notes". There is another version of Daybreak in I believe 2018. after I Am Singer.
Those are not "his people", they are the other contestants. Dimash has been performing since he was a boy, but this is his first performance in China, nobody there heard of him before.
