    In today's video I take a look at how I have managed to triple my KDP sales this month, within the last 2 weeks of publishing a new book. The new book is a coloring book that I am kind of using as a 'lead book' to gain more sales within my niche on Amazon. This strategy is something I am just playing around with on my low content books, so it is just some food for thought here when you are feeling more confident with your publishing business you might want to give this a try at some point. Let's build up a brand.

    I just started KDP with 3 puzzle books exactly a month ago, and I now have 29 sales; 10 of which were organic. This is starting to be fun!

    Launched my first book last week with an ad campaign to get sales (not to get initial profit). 13 sales so far including 2 friends (not linked to me on amazon in any way) who have promised to review. My very own printed copy arrived today, I'm a little bit happy :)

    It's called a "loss leader" and supermarket brands have been using the strategy for years. Funnily enough, I priced one of my puzzle books at 4.99 a few weeks ago and it has also brought a heap of new sales for my other books in the series. I am kicking myself I didn't do it sooner!

    Great advice as always 👍
    I've spent about $500 on a word search book I lunched a month ago, just to rank it, it was doing really well (10-20 sales a day), 1-3 clicks lead to a sale but the CPC is too high ($1-$3).
    This week I paused the campains hoping that organic sales keep coming, the BSR now went higher from around 10k to over 40k.

    I am one of those people who says price your book higher because it's associated with quality (and prices that are too low are associated with low quality). But that doesn't mean pricing it too high.
    The correct way to execute this strategy is to look at the range of prices of books in the niche that are selling well and price yours around the middle or top of that range. What you *don't* want to do is say, "most books in this niche are selling from $7.99 - 9.99, so I'm going to price mine at $5.99." In this scenario, you also wouldn't want to price your book at $12.99. You *would* want to price it in the $7.99 to $9.99 range.
    So it's not just a matter of a higher price getting more sales. It's about finding that sweet spot that tells the customer that the book is good quality at a good price.
    I don't say this to argue with Chris, in fact, I love the strategy he's presented in this video! I'm going to try it out myself. Thanks for another great video, Chris! Your graphics may not be as flashy as some but, as always, your video offers real value. 💚💰

    I want to promote my adult coloring book - and my journals, but I'm not going to spend the money on ADs until Amazon uploads the interior images. I've waited for 3 weeks so for. How long does it take? My friends are buying the coloring book, but I can't imagine anyone else buying it - if they can't see some of the coloring pages. Thank you in advance.

    I have revived dead books by totally changing the covers , so people who recognized the old cover no longer ignored the book. HOWEVER, that was a book that initially sold well. it was 2 years old at that point. (my cover making skills were two years better at that point) I agree most time just move on and create more and better books

    I just want to understand online puzzle book sales. I’m still not sure I understand why someone would spend $10-$12 on a book from kdp when they can buy one from the dollar store for $1 or $2. I sincerely mean no disrespect to anyone in stating that. I’m just mystified at how people are able to make a business out of selling these books online when they’re a fraction of the price in any nearby store.

    • @ChrisRaydog
      @ChrisRaydog  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      My thoughts are: if it's selling on Amazon, it's selling on Amazon. And whatever happens in local stores is completely irrelevant and doesn't even cross my mind. Go by Amazon's data and that alone. I wouldn't let that type of thought process hold you back -- the fact of the matter is, Amazon's traffic and selection is phenomenal and if it's selling on Amazon already, then you can sell it too :)

      Someone made a good point about this in regards to Amazon FBA which is similar to KDP in some aspects. Very simple answer: Not everyone bargain shops. Some people buy immediately without thinking let me check if I can get it cheaper. Plus, some people shop mainly online and rarely go into dollar stores etc. When it comes to buying books, it's about having variety. Amazon has more variety than stores.

    • @lelanacroft
      @lelanacroft ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually I can answer this. My hubby loves crosswords so I picked up some of the dollar tree ones. They were so bad. The clues and answers didn’t make much sense. He likes a specific type with good clues that have answers that are considered easy. He’d rather spend more on a good quality book. Second, the dollar tree usually only gets three or four and an avid puzzler will go through those fast and want a new one they haven’t done before.

What else can I do to get more impressions (7 today). Price is good, book cover and interior were professionally done. Why is Amazon not showing my book?

    Hey Chris, quick question.
    I have an Amz Seller Account for FBA and would like to also start selling on Amazon KDP.
    1. How should I go about creating my KDP account? Can I have an Amz Seller Account + KDP account with the same details?
    2. Should I create a KDP account with a different email address? If so, do I need unique bank and Tax information as well?
    3. Are the two linked in any way? Is there a chance of getting suspended because I now have an Amz seller account + KDP account?
    Thanks for any help
