    Thanks Chris you are a gift to the Kdp world. Just released a book and within 2 days I was ranked and got the number 1 new release badge. Please what does it signify? Does it mean High sales velocity?

    The thing we have to be on the same page about though is the ACOS is based on the books SELLING PRICE, NOT the Royalties received. We could have a book that has a decent ACOS, yet still be underwater on it because it's tuned to selling price and not royalties.

    Hey mate, thanks for the videos. I've probably rewatched this about 4 times by now. I've just released 2 books somewhat recently (Book A about 1 month ago and Book B about 3 days ago). I've been running aggressive ads on Book A for 2 weeks and Book B for 3 days. I've spent a total of $135 so far and got about 12 sales (split 8/4 across both books).
    My acos is through the roof, 65% for book A and 371% for book B. Now I'm not too concerned about the expenditure as this is all a learning curve and I'm okay "losing" some money. My books are getting okay BSR ranking (250k/120k).
    I just wasn't sure whether these kind of numbers were good in terms of $ spend:BSR rank ratio and I wasn't too sure when to pull the plug on some of these ads. Is there a certain BSR you try to reach before pulling the least productive ads?
    Look forward to your reply and thanks again for your help.

    16:34 "Grade 2" is a European phrasing. "Second grade" is used in the USA. Knowing your market demographics puts another tool in your toolbox! 😊

    i appreciate the video. seems very insightful, but tbh i have no idea what any of this means. i released my finance book on the 28th and have only seen one sale. ive used pubby to get 6 reviews so far. i watched one video online explaining how to create 3 different campaigns (auto keyword, manual keyword, and manual product targeting) running at $10 budget per day, but after 4 days i saw no action. i paused the campaigns. i dont mind paying if i see some action. anyhow. i appreciate your content. still trying to figure out how to apply it to my situation. cheers.

    I created a video ad for one of my books....how do you get those to show as an ad on amazon? I put it on the page that my book is on but I would like to see it as a sponsored ad.

    I ran a "Lottery Campaign" for seven days: March 3rd - March 10th and *_NOTHING!_* Only 364 impressions (basically works out to one ad per day for a year) No clicks, no sales. I sold seven copies, but that was people I know! High ACOS? I don't even *_HAVE_* an ACOS!!! 😞 What am I doing wrong??

    When you say 'strong' and 'aggressive', how does that look like in terms of bidding. Do you bid the recommended bid, higher, lower?

    • @ChrisRaydog
      @ChrisRaydog  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Good question: it will depend on the competition your book has. So for my Christmas book I had to go up to like 0.70 to get instant clicks and with the workbook I think it was closer to 0.35

    If both of these are your books, how come the author name is changed? Is it better to have all the books under the same author name (for full showcase of library), or you change author name based on niche of the books you publish?

    Hi Chris, do you perhaps do any coaching or mentorship? My activity books have been on for 5 months, and they have good reviews, but not many sales, I've done all I can in terms of optimizing listings, keywords, and categories etc. Last month most clicks convert to sales, but this month hardly any are converting. I'm creating more unique books, but I am feeling a bit deflated and unsure where to focus now. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank You

      The clicks are probably from the competition trying to steal your interior ideas for their book. Happens to everyone. Take it as flattery in the form of imitation. Unfortunately all they need do is a slight change and they avoid copyright.

    Great video Chris. My question is, how long do you give individual bids to perform until you raise them to get a decent amount of impressions. I've got a book with several campaigns. and I'm just not getting impressions even though I'm raising the bids every couple of days. Not that low either - currently on the 35p a click mark.

    • @ChrisRaydog
      @ChrisRaydog  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Honestly, if I don't get clicks, I just make more campaigns. I've had campaigns that were exactly the same as the ones that didn't work, that then worked. I think there is a lot of experimenting to be had -- the one thing I don't do is just panic and massively up the bids

    Hi i have a question......why do u make different manual ads for the same book at the same time ?

  • @belesprint
    @belesprint ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Chris launched a new book and looking to start running some ads. When it comes to manual ads, should I target the only the keyphrase that I want to rank for which is also my title? Or do you suggest to include some related phrases in the adset?

  • @shaunaoc

    Thanks Chris! I’m doing this right now as it turns out. One thing I forgot to do that I’ve seen you do in other videos is lower the price for launch. Do you recommend doing that? Love you bruv ❤

    • @ChrisRaydog
      @ChrisRaydog  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was testing this -- but I found recently with a book I made (which isn't do so well) that even though I lowered the price, it just stopped selling when I upped the price. So I think there is something to be said for just going with your standard pricing.

    Hey Chris, I've found a niche where the competition is very very low, but people are buying the books like crazy, but the thing is, any independent publisher hasn't published any book in that niche. I want to enter that niche since I know graphic designing, and I know FOR SURE that I can make some quality books, better than the already published ones. But I can't keep up with the pricing. I mean, the best book published in that niche is 32 pages and priced at $4.99. But if I made such a book with 32 pages, and choose the premium color interior (bcuz the standard color option is terrible, I've tested it by myself), then I have to keep the minimum listing price at least $6.08 with $0 royalty. What should I do in this case?

    • @ChrisRaydog
      @ChrisRaydog  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'd first be careful that there isn't a reason that no one else is doing it, trademark etc. I've not been in that scenario, but if your research tells you there is a tonne of traffic going to it, then I see no reason why 6.99 or 7.99 wouldn't attract sales. But, hard for me to say without looking into it

    Hey! What if you get on page one after just one day of using your aggressive method? Do you go ahead and shut the aggressive ad off, or is there a certain amount of time you would leave it running just in case?

    • @ChrisRaydog
      @ChrisRaydog  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very good question. I’ve been in that position where the first sale ranked me well. I tend to let it go still and monitor how it moves each day and just try to optimise it you as time goes by. You could lower your daily budget in that case and keep monitoring where your book is in the results and adjust based on that

    All about getting the AMAZON ALGO to take over and rank your book on page 1 for the chosen category. I think the adverts mess with the algorithm and it slowly learns if your book is something KDP wants to feature or Dump into the KDP abyss.
    The alternative to adverts is getting reviews and ratings up there. VERIFIED PURCHASE is your golden key but it's black hat and requires some creative thinking outsourcing to have those reviews added on to your book... Alternative method but directly influences the AMAZON algo. ( B L A C K _ H A T )
