MSC Virtuosa - Review Of The Buffet On Gala Evening & First Time Trying A Silent Disco!

- Well, it's Gala Evening/ Elegant night / Posh night, whatever you want to call it, lol. It's the night you pull out your best outfits, have some fancy food, and dance the night away. But what we like about MSC, is that it isn't mandatory, and you can choose to join in or not. Some dress up a bit, and some go all out. At the end of the day, everybody looked wonderful either way, so just choose what you feel most comfortable with.
After our last time sailing on the Virtuosa back in June , when we ate in the MDR on Gala evening, we thought we would switch it up this time and check the buffet out. We had comments last time saying alot of you choose to eat in the Buffet on this night so we thought it would be a good idea and be helpful to show you guys wanting this option what was available at the Market place Buffet.
We also end the night trying out our first ever silent disco!!

That area was slated to be another restaurant on the Meravilglia plus ships - sea pavilion by Jerome Leung, those pieces of equipment might be for hot pot or something similar. Seems they were put in during construction but the area was given back to the buffet
Oh right thanks for letting us know this, interesting as it definitely did feel like it should of been a separate restaurant. We sat there everytime we ate in the buffet and it was always quiet. Definitely a nice spot to sit though, thanks so much for watching

I think the Sea Pavilion by Jeremy Leung hot pot restaurant is only used during Asian cruises so for others it just becomes an extension of the main buffet but looks like a great place for some peace and quiet!

I'll admit after reading the title, to being curious what a silent disco was about, Kev and Stacey. "Stayin Alive" not a part? Loved the buffet review on Gala Night. It's so much easier dressing down somewhat and relaxing! Mama Mia, Kevin looked impressed with the Disco! We would dress down and choose the buffet if we were there. We were! Thanks so much for bringing us along! We hope you both and your family had a wonderful Christmas.

We didn’t try any of the speciality dinner as both my daughters are very fussy eating and I don’t want to waste my money 😅but definitely will try one day if just me and me hubby on the cruise ship 😂 love all the theatre shows and that’s my elder daughter the most looking forward things to do every night cos she love the main male vocal singer Renan and she’s been following his IG since our first cruise holiday on September 😅 she’s asking me to book another holiday at February half term to see him again 😂🙈
Just be glad she likes the guy on the msc virtuosa and not on the Norwegian prima. At least with msc, their prices mean you could go on again sooner than with other companies 😆
Thanks for video. We were on Virtuosa in June and had a really great time. I didn’t find the quiet part of the buffet so thanks for pointing it out ! We are sailing again next Friday (6th) so will definitely go and find it. Hoping this next trip will be as much fun as the last one was. 🎉

Beef Wellington on a buffet??? That wins me over right there, have you seen it on there any other time. I’ve tried making it and what a fail, bad instructions. I’d have asked for the pastry anyways. My grandmother made meat covered in pastry on the farm, they were born here but her ancestors were from the English isles. She died before I was born but my mom and dad both wished they had receipes from them. I made sure I wrote down every receipe I loved from them. She did do Sunday roast but didn’t call it that, said her mom always made a special dinner on Sunday’s.

🤣 loved the dancing i'm gutted they didn't do the silent disco when i was on board in november. The back of the buffet near the rear exit is where the crew eat their meals away from passengers.
Thanks Craig and haha we've got no Rhythm 🤣. Oh yeah we know where you mean where the crew sit. We used to see them all the time. Never saw them in that part where we sat though, was maybe the odd other person, it's a great spot lol
Booked up to go in May ever since seeing your 1st time on the Virtuosa and can't wait! We've been with other lines before but never MSC so these videos have been a great help, especially for our friends coming with us who have never ever been on a cruise before!

I enjoy sitting outside at the back of the buffet area...also agree..the area where you sat has always been empty on both my Virtuosa sailings.
Yes! The outside at the back of the ship is a great spot. We've had many slices of pizza sat out there 😁
Hi I noticed you brought a bag full of drinks on? Do they let you do that? Do they not check?
We have always managed to take them on, if they ever said no then that's fine. At worst we would waste £7 on the price it cost to buy all the sodas.

I have seen so many negative comments on Facebook groups about numerous things on the VIRTUOSA and MSC in general.
Have you been on it when it was at full capacity or close too yet?
One particular one that comes up a lot is not finding a seat at many bars and venues. Did you experience this?
The 3 msc ones we did were at half capacity so we didn't experience this. We Paid so little for the cruise though that we went in with a open mind. Think you could expect this with any cruise line though as we did the p&o Britannia at Easter and the ship was at full capacity and we could never really get a seat in a bar
@@OneCouplesAdventure ah ok fair enough I’ve been on NCL cruise and a TUI one. And they were in summer holidays so full and didn’t experience this tbh.
Our cruise on MSC wasn’t cheap we got a good deal compared to other oryxes we quoted for it but wouldn’t it’s cheap, but it’s my sister and brother in law and 3 kids first cruise so I hope it is good, I’ll go in with an open mind. I’ve never bothered looking in a Facebook group before maybe shouldn’t of bothered lol.
Are you going on the VIRTUOSA again?
Are there certain times you can use the pools?
Think it was roughly 8am till 8pm depending on weather. Just check your daily schedule magazine when onboard though for more accurate times 👍

Hi Julie and Andrew . When we were on you could have juice and tea/coffee all day but only in the buffet. In the main dining room you could have just juice and coffee/tea with breakfast. You could have water with dinner though

Haha yes you don't realise till you come to do a cruise just how much planning and research it takes. We were exactly the same with our 1st lol. We didn't have a clue

I just came off Virtuosa & I thought the quality of food on there was very poor, particularly in the Buffet, not a patch on other cruise ships I've been on.
It was a cheap cruise & you get what you pay for!
