Interesting that Panda got her own trailer. Because since she was introduced as an alternate skin for Kuma in Tekken 3, I assumed it as a given she'd be in Tekken 8. I.didn't expect Panda to get her own trailer.
Panda was even in the trailer with Kuma so it should have released together. They could have done what previous Tekken did and have them in the same slot, just like Eddie and Christie.

I was really hoping they'd let Panda keep Storming Flower as a regular move again since Kuma had Demon Breath. She had it in Tag 2 as an Easter egg. On the other hand, Panda still does it at the very end of her rage drive and did get other Xiaoyu techniques! That's pretty sick!
Oh, ok. They've made some Xiaoyu style changes to her since the last build. Hopefully there are more by launch. The dream is for Panda to be a semi-clone (40%-60% herself, the rest being from Kuma). Even all-around changes that aren't completely unique moves go a long way. Things like: Kuma in general deals more chip damage and has more guard breaks whereas Panda has faster frame data, and they both have different counter hit properties on certain moves. Stuff like this will do a lot to differentiate them.

Everything looks amazing and I like how Panda's move set includes some of Ling's attacks, however it makes no sense for her to have new attacks from Heihachi like Kuma does. They should have only borrowed from one character each to differentiate them more.
It makes a bit more sense when you remember Panda was, in fact, gifted to Xiaoyu by Heihachi after she impressed him by sneaking onto something he owned and beat up all his guards. Especially since Heihachi has a thing for teaching bears the martial arts...

So having both Panda and Kuma in the roster was the only real criticism I've had for the game mainly because I think there were much better choices to include instead two bears. With that said, I think they did a good job with differentiating their movesets so I feel better about it now after seeing both gameplay trailers.
