I was on tour in Texas and opened a show for Roy back in the 80s in College Station TX at the Chicken Oil Joint. He was traveling in an old Airstream motor home back then. Kewl guy!
Peg legs were popular back then, I knew three people who had them but that's another story.............OMG I could listen to Roy talk all day and night
I've played guitar fir for decades and am ashamed to say I didn't know about Roy til 5mins ago. Sorry Roy, but thanks to the world we live in I will catch up real quick and look forward to listening and learning.
Roy, I discovered you late, when I was about 50, bout 15 years ago. I remember a comment you made, " Stop by my trailer and say hi." Great music from a nice, approachable guy.
I got turned onto Roy in Highschool in the early 70’s . I’ve been learning these old songs ever since. Roy is a national treasure! He told me himself😏
I met him today and he showed me his 90 year old Gibson. Best guitar ever.

"When you have a limited kit of basic guitar playing, and you use it all the time, it becomes a distinct style. John Hartford told me that." 10:48
