GT 250 tank I used a 16” bicycle tube I picked up at dollar store. Shoved the whole tube into side with dent. I should have heated tank a little in sun or with heat gut but thank God the dent popped out just as the tube popped! Looks much better now. 👍 Thanks for the great idea.
Thanks buddy! 4 yrs later I'm trying to figure out how to fix a 40yr old tank. Looking on ebay and the only one is in worse shape than mine! This has made my day. Bless you.
This is genius! I have just purchased TWO 2012 Honda CBR250r motorcycles. The red one has a sizeable but not creasing dent in the right side of the tank, plus it is fuel injected so it has a sizeable entrance hole in the bottom of the tank tank for the fuel pump. i can see now this is going to WORK...Thanks...Al
Very inventive way to approach dent removal. Often warming the metal helps encourage the metal to move more easily. I have a dent in a rear quarter panel to remove when the weather warms up and was thinking of using an air wedge. After seeing your technique, I’m going to copy it and use an inner tube and my compressor. Thanks for making this video.
Good idea but it's better if you have tank mounted on the bike then pressured. The pressure sometimes makes other parts of the tank expand. This will make a hard time fitting tank back on the bike. Found out the hard way.
Nice trick! I've been doing electrolysis on my gas tank for the past few weeks and it's got a couple small spots pushed in a bit. This strategy should work well after watching how it worked for you.
just use a whole tube , and use the valve and stem complete , no need for the messing about , just get on with it. the valve stem will stick out the hole and work fine works well on door skins too , but it can move the whole panel so take care , but its still better than a dent , works really well on big soft dents.
I have to try this I am restoring a 1972 Hodaka Wombat with dents on the top of the tank I was going to take it to one of those paintless Repair places nice Job
Impressive demo, but I couldn't help wondering whether it was really necessary to cut that section out of the tube? Presumably it would be much harder to get the tube in and out of the tank if you didn't? Also, good point about doing it with the bike in situ, on the bike, to avoid expansion in the wrong places and making it impossible to refit! Finally, you've written 'technik' when you obviously mean *technique*.
Some cool techniques thanks for sharing guys like you and these videos are a really awesome thing to have especially to teach the future generations Some of the old trade secrets and techniques especially that many of these trades dont have a lot of people interested in doing anylonger my Grandfather was a auto body man and welder way before Bondo or polyester body fillers were invented i actually in heated a car he had lead filled all the dings and imperfections on years ago as a favor to my Father fo a repaint
Great video, very impressed. I have just bought a Bonnie with a large dent in the top of the fuel tank, so I will look at trying your technique, seems a lot better than resorting to hammers etc. Thanks a lot, Liam Hemswell, UK
I have a GS1000 tank with a dent in the side on the forward cheek, the widest part. I am going to brace the arch with wood and fill with water and use a hydraulic hand pressure test pump to help push it out, I may use a glue on puller at the same time, but this sure is a good idea with the tube.
All be dipped. I was even thinking about how to pop a dent out of a tank with air. And wouldn't you know it I gotten figured just didn't think a tube would do it
What year Elsinore? I have a 74 mt125 Elsinore and a 79 cr125 Elsinore. If anyone’s on telegram I have a page called vintage dirtbikes if anyone’s interested. Also have a lot of videos on my TH-cam my dog even rides
If I hadn't seen it. I wouldn't believe it. Good technique.
Probably the best video on removing a dent out of a tank ive seen/found

Glad it helped!
I would have NEVER Believed this would work until i found this video : ) .... This is a breath of fresh air . thank you

I would NOT have believed it had I not seen it!!! Nice job! Very creative method!!

Fern C, a really good point made, i was thinking of that myself wondering how to get around that problem. Thanks for this info.
I unintentionally destroyed a tank by doing this. I was lucky to find a decent replacement. Good Kawasaki F7 parts have proven to be tough to come by.
Holy shit! Brilliant! Just what I needed to fix my dinged up dirtbike tank. Thanks for posting!
Nice trick! I've been doing electrolysis on my gas tank for the past few weeks and it's got a couple small spots pushed in a bit. This strategy should work well after watching how it worked for you.
Brilliant, I tried it and worked a treat, got almost all of the dents out, Thank you
That’s awesome, I’m gonna have to buy a dented tank for my vtx1300. This might save me a lot of time and effort. Thanks man.
This, and your other videos, give me the confidence to tackle my DIY motorcycle obstacles! Thank you sir.
That is great. Thanks so much. 👏
Just when you think youve seen it all. You are a genius. My CB77 and TX500 have found a leader.
Gonna use this method to fix my tank! Got a 02 vstar 1100a that has a few dents in the tank
Good Idea for easy flop out dents, it's no use for sharper ones, but never the less, it's an option when possible.
I've done the same process but used a scrap gas cap with a tire valve mounted in it. I think I like your way better!
just use a whole tube , and use the valve and stem complete , no need for the messing about , just get on with it. the valve stem will stick out the hole and work fine

I just brought a honda vt 1100 and it's got a dent in the tank, I'm going to try this method . Thanks for sharing buddy.
I just got a Honda as well! My first bike ever. Has a dent in the tank as well
Did this work for the Honda 1100 I just got 2003 vex 1300. Fell over on way home in trailer. Big dent in my can
That's brilliant! Gonna try that on a '70 Yamaha tank...puller didn't work but I'm sure this will!!!
Thanks fer sharin' !
Or a combination. put the tube inside and pressure it up, if that won't do it add the dent puller to it.
Great technique kudos to you! I have a tank with a dent I may try it on.
Glad I just found this bought a Sportster with 3 dents in the tank last weekend and was thinking it was gonna be a pain to fix but this looks easy
Did it work?
Did it work?
I think Harley tanks are much thicker and it would be harder to pop them out.
Thank You Brother , I will try it on my TX 500 .
Wow I'm definitely impressed would of never thought of this
I have to try this! Thanks for your advice.
Cool, can't wait to try this! I might even be able to get an extra gallon or two in there!
Go for it!
Thanks so much, maybe even I can do that. Some of told me fill the tank with water and freeze. I just did not like that idea. Again thanks.
Awesome work, now to do some SR55 work
Nearly missed this video. I thought it could be one of those business self promotion adverts. Good video
you mean my thumbnails are getting that good? or that bad?
thanks will try this on my triton alumina tank
Great idea. Going to try it on some vintage outboard tanks.
Very cool, heard of this but never saw it done. Thanks.
I have to try this I am restoring a 1972 Hodaka Wombat with dents on the top of the tank I was going to take it to one of those paintless Repair places nice Job
Brilliant... the master of diy fixing tank dents lols

The second tank make the tube blow up because it had deeper dent, means edges over the dents and heavier works.
Thanks that helps me a lot Thanks again
I learned something new today, thumbs up. 🍻
Genius! The mans a genius I tell ya. Awesome job. I love watching your videos your a lotta help keep doing what'cha you do
Great video, very impressed. I have just bought a Bonnie with a large dent in the top of the fuel tank, so I will look at trying your technique, seems a lot better than resorting to hammers etc. Thanks a lot, Liam Hemswell, UK

How did that work
-Now I believe in Santa AND MacGyver too !!! LOL

Thumbs up from BIKER'S GARAGE 101
Great stuff!
WEAR EAR DEFENDERS - I am mostly deaf in one ear just because I over-inflated an inner tube and it exploded 😔
Nice one. Thanks.
You bet
Awesome technique...!
We can actually do PDR on tanks. Myke Toledo at Dent Time and Daniel Gromm at Dent Dynamics are doing some great videos on MC tanks.
good job, thanks for the idea
All I can say is WOW
Very good. Great idea.
Great work
Thanks
Fantastic well done!!!
Thanks for the visit
great idea...
just fabulous !!!
Very int r resting have a dent in old elsinore tank I will try this om
What year Elsinore? I have a 74 mt125 Elsinore and a 79 cr125 Elsinore. If anyone’s on telegram I have a page called vintage dirtbikes if anyone’s interested. Also have a lot of videos on my TH-cam my dog even rides
Ingenious idea
Glad you think so!
Absolute genius
On some bikes you can't do this. Honda magna's have the bottom of the tank shaped for the stuff underneath, if you blow it out it won't reattach lol
