Virgin Trains InterCity 225s at speed (ECML)

The InterCity 225 is a UK high speed electric train, consisting of a Class 91 Bo-Bo electric locomotive, nine Mark 4 carriages and a Driving Van Trailer (DVT).
The Class 91 locomotives were built by BREL at Crewe works, and have a top speed of 140mph... however the top line speed on the East Coast Mainline is 125mph.
Here is a selection of clips I have of the InterCity 225s, currently operated by Virgin Trains East Coast, at speed in locations such as: St. Neots, Huntingdon, Peterborough, Grantham, Newark Northgate, Northallerton, Durham, Alnmouth for Alnwick & Berwick-upon-Tweed.
All trains in this video are running at speeds between 50mph & 125mph.

Can't believe these will all soon be gone, the still seem fresh, very quiet and comfortable. The ECML just won't be the same without them, ditto the HSTs.
The Azuma isn't a patch on either IMO.

I would personally like these class 91s better than the intercity 125. The reason is intercity 225s are electric and economy-friendly train where they don't have to refuel unlike the diesel intercity 125. It's sad azuma class 800 had replaced this iconic train. Wish this electric train would still operate on some railways for charter operations.

It is because the DVT are just drive able trailers hence the name Driving Vehicle Trailer they don't have traction motors and all the traction power comes from the Class 91 Powercar itself which pushes the DVT when the Mk4 Sets are going South

I like the 125s better because when I go up to Edinburgh I always go on a 91 but I came down from Doncaster and I went to London kings cross on a hst.

91 is a good vtec train. what do you like better 125s or 225s.
