My mom hated me listening to "heavy metal" because it was the "devil's music." I was blaring this song in my bedroom and the next day the cassette was gone. I found it in my mom's car, she loved this song 😂😂😂
Slash’s riff is basically the piano on Queen’s song “Bohemian Rhapsody” that Freddie plays before he sings “Mamma, just killed a man…”, but sped up a bit.
Listen to Michael Schenker’s solo that ends out the UFO song, “Love to Love”. Slash is a big Michael Schenker fan and plays a guest solo on the UFO song, “Mother Mary”, with Erik Grönwall on vocals, from Michael’s September 20, 2024 release, My Years With UFO, A 50th Anniversary Celebration. Oh, BTW, Axl sings “Love to Love” on Michael’s new album also. Link to UFO “Love to Love”. th-cam.com/video/hIBhwWbviFw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=udlh2W6UI7lGZgZY
This song brings me back to the time when i was engaged ..this was the song he would sing to me ... 😢 The last time he sang it to me was a week before he crossed over 🙏 its been a long time but each time i hear this its like yesterday
True about the song, sure. But parents can (and often do) use any familiar phrase, hook, etc. to express affection for their children. Doesn't really matter what the in depth meaning of the piece in its entirety is about. My son will always be a sweet child of mine although he definitely doesn't have blue eyes and is not female. The sentiment is still there just in the words of the title and I was familiar with this song long before he was born.
@@NinaGray-eq9on “ baby girl” “ baby” “mama” “ come to daddy “ etc… most of human sexual endearment includes these terms. This was a thing long long before guns & roses came into the picture. It’s turns most men on. Why…..if we thought about that too much we would never talk to men again.
@krystalpotter3304 I'm aware these terms were around before G 'N' R, doesn't detract from me finding it creepy. Maybe I don't have to put these discomforts aside, as I'm lesbian. Regardless, the terms are still disrespectful and even worse, infantalising.
@ I agree. I’m a les too. But here’s the thing….there is a Huge elephant in the room. Men are prone to enfantalizing women. Many women like it. WHY ? We have pedophiles, men who fantasize about pedophilia but don’t partake, men who infantalize women…. This isn’t a minority problem. It’s a majority problem. Evolution created a desire for young fresh females to populate the species. Now that we are overpopulated, hopefully evolution will fix this problem. It’s may take a few thousand years though. In the meantime, all we can do is teach our daughters not to put up with it.
"Welcome to the jungle " is also a classic. My son and his friend had a small picture in the Tampa Tribune because the spent the night outside the record store in his pickup waiting to be the first in line to get the album.
Your gotta react to the whole album this album is soooooo goood. Amazing album, imo my favorite GNR album. I love GNR, gotta react to more. This song is about axls girlfriend I believe. ❤🤘🔥
Now you need to check out country singer Carrie Underwood joining G- N- Roses singing " Welcome to The Jungle ". That country girle knows how to ROCK. Enjoy your show.
😂 This song is definitely not about a child. It's about the lead singer's girlfriend, at that time. Back in the '80s and '70s, I heard quite a few men refer to their girlfriends and wives as My Sweet Baby and My Sweet Child. Especially in the southern states
Cliff..this is another daily video I watch often to bring my spirits up! I was blessed to grow up in the 60's 70's and 80's..best music EVER and wonderful songwriters..many whom we lost tragically at a young age. They are sorely missed! You are such a GROOVY friend! 🤣 Thanks for Being There for us! Peace..out! ✌☮
G'N'R's "My Michelle" is a hella wiser lyric- ally grimey song than this happy song next to "Michelle" in Gunner's 1st album, & she was Slash's ex- for a reason(s;,)! 🤔🤘🥀
This band was the top of the 90's rock. Now it's time to learn about the top of the 2020's rock. React to The Warning with their song Evolve. Live from MTV VMA will be the best. Thanks and enjoy! 😀
The lyrics in this one are quite straight forward, i think youd like either dont damn me or garden of eden. Both by guns n roses, for a deeper lyric dive. Love this tho
Y'all know the "where do we go" story rite? They were stuck for an idea for the bridge, saying to each other, "what now, where do we go," etc, so Axl started singing "Where do we go now?" over & over & darn if it didn't work & fit perfectly. Not some deep, existential insight or anything, just what the $#@% do we do now? Thats how great songs are sometimes born...i assume most people know the story but Cliff mite not..
Being a parent has a way of twisting lyrics. The song "all of me" is definately not about a child but my mom brain has twisted for my kids. The "curves and edges" that he is referring to are not child like but in my mind it fits the curve balls and moodiness of my boys. Nothing wrong with interpretation outside the norm.
I appreciate the willing to help people, who struggles in different ways. But be careful, I did so, and it didn't do me well. You take parts of their struggles with you and they multiplie. (Over years). I'm 52 yo and still think, I could have helped my friends more in our 20ies. Charity has its borders, I struggle every day with other people problems and fight to stay clean in my head. Sorry for my maybe bad English, I'm Austrian and so used to Psychs' like Nietzsche, Freud, ... Just an good advice. Btw. Love your channel.
Hi Cliff! If you're a lyricist at heart you should really check out an artist none of the other reactors have gotten to yet. His name is Shawn Phillips, disappeared from the music scene years ago to become an EMT in Texas. I suggest you start with Times Of A Madman And Trials Of A Thief and Second Contribution. Also from Dan Fogelberg listen to Netherlands. You'll be thinking what did he just say? Actually both of these artists are so lyrically gifted that all of their albums are stellar. Love that you pay attention to the lyrics! I've always believed you lose 75% of the essence of the musical experience if you don't learn the correct wording chosen for the sound. Hope you can find time to listen and TYSM for all you share with us!! ☮️ ❤️ 🎶 🎸 🎶
Listen to the whole band, the whole song. If you're just interested in the lyrics Google them instead of stopping all the time and repeating them. Impossible to watch.
Her hair reminds me of a warm, safe place
Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder and the rain
To quietly pass me by
My mom hated me listening to "heavy metal" because it was the "devil's music." I was blaring this song in my bedroom and the next day the cassette was gone. I found it in my mom's car, she loved this song 😂😂😂
That's fucking great 😂
Slash’s riff is basically the piano on Queen’s song “Bohemian Rhapsody” that Freddie plays before he sings “Mamma, just killed a man…”, but sped up a bit.
I was 16 when these guys came....growing up in the 80's was the best. Not only did we have the best music, but we also had Bird n Magic
I'm right with you. It was amazing.
The opening guitar was actually a warmup Slash would do.
cleanest guitar solo ever

The reference to Sweet child is actually a sweet endearment to a girlfriend not to a child...

How creepy is it for an adult to refer to another adult as a child, regardless of their romantic inclinations.

Cant beat GnR played this album over and over.
Lestin to "welcome to the jungle "
It is one of their greatest songs written.
Guns & Roses
Perhaps one of the best ever
And Axl has a 5 or 6 octave range... Yeah...he can SING
🌹 🌹 🌹 ❣️💋
Your gotta react to the whole album this album is soooooo goood. Amazing album, imo my favorite GNR album. I love GNR, gotta react to more. This song is about axls girlfriend I believe. ❤🤘🔥
The giro Axl is singing about and to in the video is Erin Everly, daughter of Don Everly of the 50s duo The Everly Brothers
Memories!! They are the definition of getting it out the mud.

React to some live GnR, they were one of the best live shows at their peak!
I would recommend tokyo or paris 92 and Freddie Mercury tribute concert!
Feel good song..♥️Ooohhh yeah. 🙂
Love to go down the memory lane with all of those MV 👏👌👏
I love Slash. I believe this is his best song. 😊

Love this song my favorite part besides the solo is the little threatening notes following the solo right before they all send it off again.
That riff at the start also is similar to the start of Xanadu by Rush .
She's the dark haired girl in video.
🔥🔥🔥
❤❤ one of many favorites
G'N'R's "My Michelle" is a hella wiser lyric- ally grimey song than this happy song next to "Michelle" in Gunner's 1st album, & she was Slash's ex- for a reason(s;,)! 🤔🤘🥀
More Gun n' Roses and or Led Zeppelin please!
Mr Brownstone is my favorite GnR song
Axl borrowed some moves off Davy Jones from the Monkeys
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a bannana.
has melancholy thread, imo. thanks for sharing your thoughts.
YOU COULD BE MINE video.
You don’t need to tell we women to “Look at those pants though!” 🤣🤣🤣
This band was the top of the 90's rock.
Now it's time to learn about the top of the 2020's rock.

Do Black Crowes “She Talks to Angels”
Please react to Civil War from Gun's and roses... ❤❤❤❤

The intro pasage is longer on the album version.

Suggestion for GNR estranged... trust me
Do patience. And rocket queen.
Written for Erin Everly daughter of Don Everly axls girlfriend.
Please listen to November rain
I hope it’s not Every Rose Has Its Thorn, that’s about a cheating partner and the end of a relationship.
I’m thinking with almost 10k comments you won’t see this. If so, let me know.
This is a great song, but the great part is the music. It is not lyrically profound. I do love listening to it, though.
