Just last match 4 Tiger 2s lined up back to back and did not end up shooting the weak spot. All died one by one literally waiting their turns. I feel enlightened as to how German player brains work. I am not one of those but suffered them anyhow. Also even before switching I could say T2H sucks. At least P gets to roleplay Panther at its br.
The BR-471B APHEBC is better than the BR-471D APCBC. The BR-471B might seem like the inferior round, but this shell has AMAZING slope modifiers. This shell has almost identical angled performance as the 12.8 Cm KwK 44... The BR-471D should only be used against thick unangled armor at long range, like the turret face of the Tiger II (H). The BR-471B APHEBC can penetrate the UFP of a T34/T29 at almost 2000 meters... The BR-471D APCBC doesn't even come close to do it.
I'm thinking of spading the IS 3 and I was unsure about the d round. But now I've made up my mind. I've got another question though. If you use the t 54s. Is the unlockable capped aphe better than the higher penetrating aphe?

I have the IS-6 for 3 years now and the gun at its br is perfect. When you've reached 7.0 in wt you have some understanding of weak points and you'll have no problem using it. Of course you won't pen a maus but besides that it's all relative easy to kill

The B round is APHEBC and thus gets the bullshit slope modifier that earlier russian tanks get such as the 85, which allows it to penetrate the side of a panther at extreme angles. This also applies to the rounds on the T-34 100
@@pedrolft9010 You seem to have completely missed my point. The D shell is more akin to APCR when compared to the B shell. The latter has an extremely busted APHEBC modifier that reduces the chance of a ricochet on angled armor.
It fits quite nicely in the 7.0 line up. It's a good folly to the IS 3. Even though id prefer IS 3 IS 6 is fast with a better reload and better turret traverse makes it brilliant
Good mobility, good armor against weaker guns and poor firepower (still better than other similar tanks). Also no gun depression. 122mm reload and 3 degrees of gun depression are a dealbreaker for me.
Just picked this up for $20 on sale during the War thunder 10th anniversary event. This is a super fun tank for brawling with great movement. just make sure you use a crew that has the most tank loader points for the faster reload.

I've been wanting to buy it to add to my Russian 7.0 lineup, and my 6.3s are always running up against this damn thing, and I can't do anything. There was 3-5 of us all blasting it from all sides and it took a beating. it eventually burned out from running out of fire extinguishers because nobody in my team could get through the armor, and idk where the weak spots are.
I sorta agree here, it has the heavy issue of armor being worthless against tanks 0.3/0.4 higher but it has only sacrificed a bit of speed for it, it's not like the 15-25 kph heavies or god forbid, the T95 or Maus It's still a low-pen med so it could be used reliably if you need to
I find it comfortable with 122mm cannon. Good K/D ratio in IS 2-5.7 (1:3), and o-kay K/D in IS 2 1944-6.3 (1:2.5) I lack experience in dealing with 7.0 ups BR of tanks. Is the IS 6 worth a shot for me? I need opinion on this guys, thanks. Note: Maybe it's worth it since upper BR had tendencies to had squishy armor?
personally as ive played in br 7.0+ the armour gets slightly thinner but everything has a mean barrel so its almost like br 1.0 but on veteran difficulty
If you got uptiered and encounter IS-6, just quit the game. That said, i once killed an IS-6 from front with my Cent mk.10. It was a panik shot right at the cheek.
A fundamentally good tank with a horrible MM and enemies who have got unlimited speed and penetration by their chemical shells+ hyper unrealistic survivor ability in a basically too arcade game. And there are many more valuable things in life to spend your money on such as hookers and alcohol!
7.0 for that and the IS 3 are pretty low honestly. I wish Russian and German vehicles were more balanced. I've been playing some minor nations recently and if you compare this to the centurions, its faster, better armor, better mobility, better gun (due to explosive filler) and has commander machine gun. Centurions might have better pen and reload but its harder to 1 shot. You could use hesh but its a hit or miss really. They are also awfully slow. Even without a stabilizer I don't think they would suffer that much since it feels like trying to pull teeth to get them moving

I bought the IS-6 on special for my birthday like 3 years ago. It'll always be one of my favourite tanks. So much fun, meta or not.

Don't worry about the shell it gets. The b round is way better than the d round. The b rounds can get through the ufps of most Americans heavies

It's pretty bad now. It faces basically only HEATFS slingers, which it's armor is useless against.
