In all honesty it never should have gone up, now that there are so many heat slingers this vehicle with it's long reload and shitty armour should really go back down. It eats King Tigers for breakfast but get eaten by IS 3 and IS 6.
It has the penetration of the T34 and the damage near the T30 with a better reload than both of them, and both of those tanks are extremely solid at their BRs. The M6A2E1 has the same gun but way worse armour and survivability, also at 6.7. Really can't justify it NOT having a higher BR.
Should not have gone up. I’ve murdered many of these in my M48G with the APDFDS round, it feels dirty to take it out with a round made in the early 80’s (DM23)

It is nearly honestly better, if people just play for fun and don't want to try so hard. As the 2nd leads to competitve toxicity, in well, a game to enjoy. So I can understand this decision alongside non historic battle rating. Core of all is though monkey wants to see thing go boom = effective armour for BR stops dopamine feed to the costumer. sry for the rant

Some people praised this tank a lot but your review points out the T29's weaknesses quite well I think. Maybe one point to consider on mobility might be the T29's useful reverse speed. In a Panther (and most Russian tanks) you are trapped if things get ugly in front of you.
I would not recommend it, but if you really want it make 200% it suits your playstyle. I find it no longer fits my playstyle with not only the BR increase but the new game enviroment with heatfs and atgms.. it is rather anti meta

I picked this up when it was on 50% off during black friday. Busy leveling my US line up and nearly at the point where I will be able to use it often so I'm still glad to have picked it up
this was a beast of a tank when it was first released and then WT removed track armor from the lower plate reducing its Survivor ability and people stopped buying it until the T34 came about, both are great tanks just don't over-extend or bring it out after your first death 16 seconds is a very long time to wait for a reload in a first wave attack.
@@hellcatdave1 I've played 947 battles so far in it, and nowadays tend to kill maybe 3 tanks with it in a battle before it dies. Is decent. Gun wrecks, armour is trolly and triple 50 cals hurt so many things.

👍. It has an ok gun. I find it lacking, bouncing shells, not doing as much damage as it should when it pens, it has interesting rng. When it comes to penning. its turret armour isn’t reliable. It does bounce the odd shot. Plus it sits at a higher br the the t34. And regularly sees 7.7 - 8 br matches. And with the long reload & no armour at those br’s. It’s pretty bad.
And much better than it. The APHE is awesome and has extreme penetration If you fail to penetrate use the nuclear APCR I sometimes only use APCR and explode enemy tanks as if it has HE filler lol

Unfortunately not. In short, I submitted for it about a month or so ago, but have heard nothing yet. I always thought it was something that Gaijin contacted us regarding, without us having to mention it to them first, thus why I submitted for it as late as I have. Personally, I find more success with the T29 by sitting in the middle of the advance, and letting the gaster tanks distract enemies while i hit them from mid range while they worry about tue vehicle in their face
Cool tank just a shame ground battles sucks now with tanks that can shoot through the ground and the insta deaths to no matter what tank you are in. Used to love tanks but nah the game mode sucks now
Probably because it was overpowered for its BR. Better reload than the T34 and much better armor than the M6a2e1. It's an unstoppable tank when used right even at 7.0.

as a t29 owner i can confirm it is good, you can one hit literally anything. for t50 series shot them close to gun like trying to hit breech.
is6 one hit you from the front while you shakes in every bounce you get

When this thing brawled with tiger 1s it was my absolute favorite tank

I enjoyed brawling it in a panther or tiger, as T29 players are often overconfident and show their mg port, beautiful explosion.

Unbelievable that this tank used to be 6.7. Even at 7.0, it's more than capable and can be part of a brilliant 7.0 premium lineup if you want.
It can do work at 7.0 but you're just gonna get murdered by a Leopard 1 or other more advanced post war tank.

It’s basically just a better T34. Trades an over-caliber cannon with solid shot for a faster reload gun with APHE
