Moustly used by Norwegian composers. Read this from Wikipedia: Gjallarhorn's horn of the god Heimdall in Norse mythology . This horn was heard in both the human world and the world of the gods, and even in the underworld, and used to awaken the gods if there is danger, especially if someone is trying to get over Bifrost , the bridge between Asgard and Midgard , as Heimdall guarding. This horn will also mark the start of Ragnarok , Armageddon.
Beautiful and different at the same time! I've been moving towards folk music a lot recently as we study folk modes in my college music theory class. So cool!
@@melissatenpierik6450 Yes, he/she is there now. There's no internet far beyond the Arctic Circle, which is why we aren't hearing from EvveeVeeVeeWuu any more.

the finnish language is so beautiful... Tolkien was very enspired by it when he created Quenya, the High Elven tongue. Tenhi is also an awesome finnish band btw :o
Canto del falò. Venite, venite , figlie, al fuoco. Accendi, accendi, fuoco, brucia, brucia! Vieni verso il lume, alzati e vieni al fuoco della notte. Il giorno sale e la terra si fa rossa. Più o meno così......
Lyric translation taken from the Rimfaxe CD liner notes: Part 2 of 2: Lit by us humble maidens, O lit, lit by us humble maidens. Light up for others from other wood, O light up, light up for others from other wood. But for us light up from tar-wood O light up, for us light up from tar-wood. See the sun…
The CD sleeve has no instrument information per song. But from the general info I gather it must a a contra-bass-recorder - 'recorder' as a kind of flute and not as an electronic device ;)
I'm just wondering, is it true that people in Scandinavia don't like foreigners moving into their country? Or does that wear off eventually if you live there long enough? I've heard some stories from people that the county was beautiful but they did not got accepted and left again.
+MewlusK I can only speak for Finland, and even that from my point of view and experience as native Finn. Depends of the foreigner. People from western cultures are accepted right away because we are alike. Second easiest are the Asians. Hardest ones are African and Middle Eastern. Then there is the personality. Everyone is an individual.
This base-line kicks ass!

@@VoxaPopsa Its Norse Mythology, and the word is NOT Finnish, you just saying so, does not make it so.
@@GeorgeFafa I guess they mean the band in this case (gjallarhorn the mythic is Norse, this band is Finnish)

This song brings out the primal Finn in me. I saw Gjallarhorn perform this song at an outdoor concert not far from Seattle back in the day.
Really! I didn't know they toured that far west.... Lost opportunity for me 😞

I wonder why they chose a white horse to represent Rimfaxe though :/
Hrimfaxe means frosty mane. Frost is usually white :D also, if Natt couldn't find her horse in darkness that would be bad :P
