I would like to say for the record in case you didn't cover this, as of a few days ago I cut the Sam Maggs parts out of my video. I issued a statement about this on Twitter that you can check out if you wish. Otherwise I thank you for making this video, I haven't watched the whole thing yet (hence why I don't know if you covered my retraction) and probably won't be able to watch it for some time, not because it's a bad video or anything, but because this whole experience has been very taxing for me mentally, and revisiting it's anytime soon is going to be very hard.
Hey! While I was far into editing this video, I had seen your statements ragarding the removal of the Sam Maggs parts. Now initially when it came to that part I had the intention to critique both your assessment of it, as well as Xem's approach to responding to it (essentially calling out the way he twisted your words.) After I had seen the statements you made, I felt it was necessary to cut out that portion of the video, and put something else in its place. Basically showing the statements you made (since those statements said everything that needed to be said). I still mentioned the way Xem handled it, but I wasn't really able to go into the specifics. I'm glad to know you appreciate the video! I am also glad I ended up releasing it. I understand how difficult it can be to revisit this situation.
Your worries and criticisms were super valid and I could see where you were coming from with everything even if the Sam Maggie part was a bit more of a a stretch. This guy was just a complete idiot and dickhead. Keep doing you man. I subbed after those vids and enjoyed your crash vid.
I played the game twice. And I think that Rift Apart is a disaster in everything but gameplay and graphics. But I feel like voicing this opinion would have me burned at the stake. I wanted to make a video about why this game does not work, coming out of place of love to the franchise, world and characters, but I am literally afraid of the fandom.
Yeah that is pretty understandable, especially when you consider someone like Xem somehow being a higher up in the fandom. I can also kinda relate since I've been working on a review of a *particular* piece of media, and needless to say the fandom of that is something ove had a little bit of concern over. That said I do think it would still be worth doing. I think it's about how you approach it. Maybe titling it someone like "Why I Don't like Rift Apart (from the perspective of a fan)" or simply just calling it "Ratchet And Clank Rift Apart Review". But yeah in general I think approaching it in a certain way can help. On the subject of Rift Apart, all I've heard about it is people either hating it or loving it, like I find it funny how there's no in between. I wouldn't know since I don't have a PS5 and finding one may as well be the modern gaming equivalent of trying to find the holy grail xD
Good video, dude. You were reasonable and fair in your assessment. I'd definitely say to keep doing response videos. But you might want to get new Pac Man assets as the ones you're using besides Ghostly Adventures Pac Man are very pixelated. There are some upscaling programs you can use to make the current ones better (some are online and use AI technology), so it'd be worth looking into.
Thanks, and I definitely do intend on continuing this series of videos. Also yeah, I'll look into some upscaling programs or just new assets entirely. Though I'd say the use of an avatar was kinda a last minute decision, since it kinda felt empty without it. I also thought about making an oc/persona to use in these types of videos, (or just any videos on general)

Fanboy-ism, huh?
What about Chum Chum-ism?

I agree
Man this video was hard to watch
What way in particular would you say it was hard to watch? Because of my assessment? Or because of the things Xem said?
@@thenumenfrompacland9491 just the whole controversy and the parallels between the 2, and then came the really uncomfortable topics.....
Ah that's fair. Yeah stuff like this can get a bit messy
I love your points I feel you could work on your speech. You sound constantly out of breath
