I still remember when the show was still going and they had just aired this episode. So many people abandoned the show because they were so clueless and didn't pick all the hints that show dropped since the first season. They just couldn't accept that Flint, this badass pirate that they admired for so long, was actually a bisexual man that was in love with Thomas.
"My truest love. Know no shame". 😭😭😭😭😭 It's one of the most beautiful and tragic love stories. I love how this episode recontextualizes both Flint and Miranda. I have the same take on Miranda and Thomas' marriage, too. They loved one another as friends, as family, and as partners in achieving his visions but they led separate romantic lives. Jack had a hard choice but I don't know how he could have made a different one. If he'd chose Anne over profits then his brand new crew would turn against him.
I don't think Miranda was a beard to either men. I can't speak to her romantic life with Thomas, but clearly there was real love between them. And in my opinion, Flint was genuinely attracted to her. Thomas was a surprise. He'd never done anything like that before. Most of us believe Flint was bisexual. Thomas was his true love, but he loved Miranda as well. He spent a decade with her in Nassau. They shared things most of us couldn't imagine. We'll never fully understand the dynamics there, but I think we can all agree that Miranda plays a very significant part in Flint's heart.
i loved the twist of Flint and Thomas being in love, awesome choice to put in, it makes a lot of sense for the time too with how homosexuality would be viewed by most, understandable why Flint is such a rage filled monster, the world took his love from him.

I've been eagerly waiting for this! One of the best "reveals" in tv history imo
24:39 Love is Love. Gender is not important for that.
I agree 100%!!
