Jack 100% knows what he is doing. His reaction revealed only a mild interest in listening to Featherstone's criticism, as he was prepared to show this crew that he is legitimately deserving of his captaincy. Jack has proved himself in nearly every scene thus far (other then his inability to be worthy in a fight). Not sure where the idea that he is just faking it came from, as Featherstone states that this was just rumor.
What's his catchphrase so far? Oh right... "Fuck you, Jack." Before this he lost his crew's holdings. I don't think we've seen any Jack kills not or signature kills thus far. That's the ultimate way you prove yourself. So in the eyes of his colleagues it's FYJ. Though I agree with you 100%. He's doing the right things. Except for giving Mapleton 40%😳
