I'm a new subscriber to your channel and even being a 65 year old woman I enjoy learning about what equipment gets what job done the best. Thanks again for helping Doss farm.
From someone that has run both a mulcher and a flail blade brush cutter (mower) and seen whats left behind, mulch vs beat up sticks and trunks , forestry head is much better.
Definitely better. I was also talking about if somebody is buying one for their property my cutter is much more affordable
$8k vs $30k
Hi, I paid a guy $1100 to do this for 2 acres. He used a brush cutter on a skid steer. After clearing most, 90% of the little stuff he put on a forestry mulcher and took out the larger trees and ground down tree stumps. He worked about 4.5 hours. Land clearing is not cheap. Had this done in middle GA.
No kidding... 1100 is really cheap to clear 2 acres. There is no way someone did that in 4.5 hours... Around here 1000 is what we charge to clear a large backyard or minimum. 1 - 1.5 acre per day at $3000.

When I was a young man, I worked for a company that did just what you are doing. I know the technology has changed drastically. I was told at the time, on a skid steer machine not to lift the heal up above my feet, and the nose of the cutter above my knees. Anything I could push over easily was okay. A certain amount of that is for stability. To answer your question. I did not see much that put you in danger of tearing up your machine. As long as you take your time. Great video. Have a great day.
