Salaam! Stop the Gatekeepers BS… American blacks, especially those so-called millionaires are gatekeepers and hated when young talented Africans expressed their confidence and maturity on the world stage. Tyler is awesome. We love her. 🌹
I think like many young Black American artists (past & present), she is pursuing her dream, but finding out that she’s navigating treacherous waters and is probably trying not to get SA’d like all the others in the entertainment industry in the news right now. When you’re young and new you have no idea that you’re prey, and the new hors d’ oeuvre on the platter waiting to be devoured by a bunch of sick individuals. If I were her parents, I’d take her back home before it’s too late and put some clothes back on her.
Thank you so much for speaking about how respectful her lyrics are. That stood out for me when I listened to her album....I listen to it all the time - Because it is so refreshing and easy on the ear. I feel that she is fighting massive "demons" in the industry as she is not towing the line in terms of what she needs to do and be to crack the "nod". I love her and will continue to support her.❤
Yup! Trevor endured hate too by Americans . I mean who did he think he is? Coming t America and taking a top spot such as the Daily show ??? How dare he give us lessons about black n white n politics and kingdoms, an African?? They didnt like his hair.....his accent.....hes take on things ....called him racist....but those comfortable in their own skin and clear who they are in America....listened and learned about us from one of us, and not the newspapers or books. Trevor did that. Comfortable in front of any audience , like Tyla, didnt do the expected bowing down to anyone because they THE AMERICANS .
@@MichelleBruintjies It was created by the Apartheid government. Because Blacks were the majority, they devised a policy of devide and rule according to tribe and location. T.V chanells were also devided, public facilities etc. and of ofcourse amongst many other legislation, mating with a non white was illegal but there was already a population of mixed breeds who also happened to look like the San, (light skinned complexion), they were clumped together and labelled as colored. In admission of their role in bringing about some of this progeny, they gave the coloureds a higher social status than Blacks.

Americans can call her whatever they want, as she really doesn’t care what at all who thinks what of her and hate on her as much as they like, it would not bother at all😂😂😂
Some forget each individual struggle, once they progress out what impacted them. He not threatened, he dont understand her as an artist. Its his perception, one need to have a personal conversation with her to understand her as a person. Its not just her music! He has biases like most individuals....
My Granny was also south african, and referred to herself also as cape coloured. In her terms, it ment to black for the whites and to white for the blacks . I understood where it was coming from and it definitely is a race group only. So just like light skinned dark skinned . Hope I'm making sense
Im so glad Tyla said that she's coloured because that shows us that WE were made to believe in America that the word was negative when infact THEY knew coloured was a description/definition of pride. It is not her job as a young person to decode what was taught incorrectly on purpose. She, in fact, said it once with pride that she's coloured. Common sense then would give me hindsight that our history once again was used to keep us mentally in bondage and now for centuries if an African is telling you that it's not a negative word. And you can't receive the message.
That's the part they don't get. This thing of identifying oneself as something doesn't apply to actual identity. But their brains operate below par so... 🤷🏽♀️

Joe discriminates against women in general.
Why does everyone have to take what she is saying and turn it into a negative thing when she didn't even mean it that way. Like what the F...k
I love her and will continue to support her.❤
Well said! I also appreciate that she's not lewd with it
I'm South African, and Tyla has an attitude problem, a little humility does hurt ❤ 🇿🇦
Usher no diddy bro 😂😂😂
Trevor is not a Coloured though. He's Xhosa and mixed race. Coloured is a cultural group identity with its own language. It's a tribe.
@@GreatNuHitG Tell me where did coloured started, from black and white.
@@MichelleBruintjies you'll have to do your own research
This man is Xhosa, initiated into manhood.
As a liberal South African I'm still very concerned by the lyrics to Water. "You aint gotta go nowhere you can stay inside it"... I still love her, I just pray she doesn't go Diddy for the industry.
I must confess that i dont really care for the song at all i do like the piano vibe on it. Ans the African zest in the bum jive called Bacardi. Our sound and dance style is so different, so originally African i love it. Always loved it. All dance from this continent actually. Our very own. I have always described us coloureds as proudly coloured and black (2 things at the same time can be true) Is true.
I love this podcast already, I've subscribed.
Glad you enjoy it!
Tyla music is badically what sone of us call Popiano SouthAfrican sound Amapiano intergrated or mix with Pop music blendibg i everybody globally...no wonder she has over 1.3 billion streams.....in SA.we grew up kistening to Pop a lot that has deep influence in SA music
Tyla is loved...she is confident, stands in her power, a true talent n is beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Love this podcast for a fair analysis 🎉❤ about tyla
Not Ugod catching the stray at the end there 😂😂
I love educated americans, just simple facts and honestly❤️
😂oh please! If she engaged with Usher, going with the flow, she would have been called names and judged for dancing with someone who could be his dad's age. Usher should know he's no longer 20 , how can he try to act sexy with a 22 year old 😢
Tyla takeover is real! Her vibe is that real! The hate is real!
She stood up for Afrobeats on that stage, risking being frowned upon. She was brave. These people are mad, beefing with a 23 year old
She does not do Afro Beats. That was her point.
@@AnjelLee-f8cThat's the point, she was brave to speak up and set the record straight
Joe Budden wasn’t even a major playa in hip hop as an international artists. One hit wonder. 😂😂😂
17:28 So basically the problem is American hegemony & imperialism can make them narrow-minded. Got it. 😅
Yes sir. We still have values here
Joe Budden ke nywana
Kere byao
Who is everyone?
I love Tyla❤❤🇿🇦💯✔️
🌷🌷🌷Our blomotjie😂😂
Great video! She should believe Africa is number one and have pride. And we should feel America is number one and have pride
It's not about her calling herself.Coloured , she IS coloured in south africa
That's the part they don't get. This thing of identifying oneself as something doesn't apply to actual identity. But their brains operate below par so... 🤷🏽♀️
I love Tyla. She's talents, likable and beautiful. Anyone who's complaining against her doesn't understand that South African culture is different from US culture. People should keep that in mind.
I'm trying to understand because if a person were to call me coloured we're gonna have issues.
I a mixed race about to get married to a coloured. I didn't like the fact she got attacked by people who don't know much about the world for her calling herself what she is. I like that she is sticking to her home training.
You just gained a sub with this one
So Americans decided "coloured" was a bad word they rather go with black 😂who was auditing the meeting
