I assume you have not yet ridden it, but can't forget the new Freebord 5. As an upgrade to the old hardware it is likely the best of both worlds. I have it, but have not ridden it yet, and honestly I may never ride it, but rather, keep it as a souvenir. I doubt I will ever go back to the G3 from the 5X and similarly I can't think of a reason to ride the 5 over the 5X. But I agree, if money is an issue, there is no reason to not get a G3 or G3-R if you are looking to "snowboard the streets". And just for the sake of sharing, I prefer the G3 over G3r for various reasons..but mainly due to the reverse coning of the wheels on the G3r.
I have ridden it actually! I did forget 😬 I mean its definitely better than the g series boards and cheaper than the 5x. I guess id only recommend it for someone who already knows how to freebord and has a 5x? It is nice to ride so maybe you should think twice about keeping it as a souvenir 😄 If I had one itd defo make my g series boards redundant... Thanks for the insightful comment as usual!
Have you started to fuck around with the springs theoretically you could immitate an asym or directional board by adding washers on certain springs? I heard people did it withthe old Freebords tighten on truck more to better imitate a directional snowboard, I guess the question is do you want to aince the old voard was more its own sport focused on spinning than imitating snowboarding.
Ive added washers to each spring because although the blues are the best theyre a little too soft and its hard to break. You ever heard of removing the castor wheel springs? Apparently that works well. I might try it with my g3r board 😎 What board are you riding atm?
@@easy_riders yeah done did that I think it removed some of the squirelliness you randomly get out of nowhere during edge change but havent riden it enough to be sure. Started on the 5x thinking about getting the boro center wheels kinda salty about paying 30€ again when the board was 420€ but hey what can you do. Oh maybe remove the springs only on the 5x and use tgat as a carving board cause i think for some tricks the spring loaded castors are heplfull like jumping on start etc.
@@cereal_thinker ive actually not swapped back to the borros but everyone does say theyre better! Ive got 4 borros because I got a g3r second hand real cheap for the Da Blues 😎
@@easy_riders ah yeah I heard about people buying for da blues I orignially wanted to put a thicker wheel in put some guy told me it just makes offroad better not edge to esge transition. So I just got the orange standard rounder center wheel
So any attempts to butter on this thing or manual pad or some shit how possible is it with the 5x. A carving vid could be cool too to show how close it gets to snowboarding.
I can try those! Im actually trying manuals a lot atm but really struggling, Ill add it to the list of vids to do tho 🔥 Video ideas are always appreciated 👌
@@cereal_thinker yeah definitely, im not that good at that at the moment but it styles better. I guess Id still opt for g3r at a skatepark just because of how much it slams about when I practice and the 5x is too expensive for that 😄
@@easy_riders Electric all the way, I just bought an Kramer baretta vintage model, which is like the model of Eddie Van Halen’s 5150 guitar, and I’m like the biggest Van Halen fan out there. I’ve got 1 acoustic and 5 electrics now, the Kramer I just got for $1400
@@easy_riders ha ha thank you! Only about 3 years but I practice about 4 to 5 hours a day almost every day in them last 3 years, I just cut my finger in 2 places though by doing hot for teacher by Van Halen, I use a different spot on my finger to play that one though because I have to stretch across 5 frets and so I don’t have calluses on that part yet
I've never even heard of freeboarding, but as an avid ripstiker I want to now. Awesome video btw!!!
Thats amazing, thats the best outcome I could hope for! 🔥 You should definitely get one, theyre so fun 😎
I just bought a g3 on market place for 50 bucks canadian! I'm stoked to try it out! :D
Amazing, you cant go wrong with the g3 at all, and at 50 you got a steal! Keep me posted on how you get on 😎
i tested out a 5X last summer and it blew me away. waaayyyy better than the G3R. i just got my 5 in the mail just in time for the season
Niceee, the 5 actually rides really well. I might have to get one at some point because they're a bit more general use than the 5x 🔥
I have been riding the 5x for 2 months now almost every day and it still blows me away how much it is like snowboarding
@@easy_ridersPlease explain more.
Nice vid
Thanks a lot dude! I appreciate the feedback😎

5X Master Race ❤ 😉👍
Ahah definitely, an incredible board 🔥
It's an unbelievable board for sure
short, quick, and to the point. Wish you would have had a more decisive conclusion, but great video nonetheless
How do u even buy the 5x? There are only preorder options and even those are out of stock.
Where are you based? pressumably you mean on Freebord Europe they're sold out?
