I love paved roads, wet with debris is ok but it limits how much pressure you can put on an edge which makes it risky with some tricks. It's all super fun though 👌

The worst part is if you bail badly and put your hands out you get sprains (same as a snowboard). The main difference is the concrete gives pizzas whereas snow just slides. Imo the sprains are waaay worse than the pizzas. Skin heals really fast 🤙

Yeah it can but I think front side drift would be better on a steep hill. I have used in as an emergency once and it was good but that was riding on the center wheels.👍

I was wondering... is esk8 legal in the UK? It's not allowed in the Netherlands, so I'm always keeping an eye out for the police when I ride 😅

I really wouldn't worry about riding fast, I'm not a particularly fast rider and get out bombed by a lot of people on the events. Focusing on spins and all the fun tricks is the most fun imo, then speed comes for free over time! 🤙

@easy_riders I know that doing 360s and drifts are by far the coolest aspect of riding Freebords and Summerboards, but I just wish I could go faster. 😆

@justalpha9138 honestly, just go to as many events as possible and itll come in time. Im a firm believer of pushing your boundary by as small an increment at a time (like 1%) to progress faster long term and avoid crashes. Because you will likely meet some crazy senders on events 😅

Totally worth the price!! I have an SBX and this looks miles ahead of that with no Wheel Chatter/Skipping. Their Black Friday Deal isn't that great, so I'm waiting until later when I have more money to spend on this 😭

It is incredible! I guess keep in mind that just like Freebords parts break it will eventually happen to the SBX (regardless of how well its built). Its a pretty expensive hobby tbh, but theres no denying is raad af🤙🏂 Edit: Freebording is also an expensive hobby.

@easy_riders That is very true. Even still, I love both boards, and I just bought some new bearings for my 5x that'll hopefully work better than the other ones I bought. I also need to make some repairs to the castors. 😊

OneWheel looks cool but what snowboard tricks can you practice? Summerboard and freebord let you practice japanese style butter trick spins, revert carves, riding flat base and all of those things while riding in switch and more. They have the edges of a snowboard which the OneWheel doesn't have to the same extent 👌

It does a different job.

Also realising you learnt your backflips at the gym I went to as a child. Of course I'd randomly come across a fellow bristolian at random on youtube haha

I think the 6 wheel Freebord and Summerboard design is the most under rated alternative skateboard design by far. Its always great to see comments like these appreciating it! It's still niche because people are worried about catching the edge on the road rather than snow, but it taught me to snowboard last year (vid in description) and this year I'll make sure to show that again with new snowboard skills without having been on the slopes🤙 🏂

Yeah so I agree that a lot of the tricks to involve skidding, however there is an equivalent to revert carves (or carves) on a snowboard and thats when you lock the toeside edge wheels until they roll rather than drift. I disagree about onewheel being more like a snowboard, that's just not true and I have a whole channel demonstrating that Freebord/Summerboard teach you to snowboard! 🤙
