I definitely resonate with all of the tips that you have mentioned, Francoise. I (re)started my art journey early in 2019 after almost a 20-year hiatus and the constant practice and learning from others (watching TH-cam tutorials and Skillshare/paid) ones really adds to the richness of the journey. With regards to the materials part, especially the paper and brushes, I have to stress that these two factors play a very important role in the outcome and experience of the journey. Cold press 100% cotton is my preferred paper and I find that natural hair (or partially mixed) has an effect on how the colour appears on the paper, especially when glazing. I'm still working on my water control and learning about other sections i.e landscape, backgrounds, getting the perfect wash, drawing hands (OMG! haha) Thank you, Francoise, for these tips! :))

Hi, if I remember correctly I mixed blue yellow and red for the skin tone and added some red for the lips. I hope that helps!
