- New year / old school
Playing with @SONICWARE SmplTrek to make an atmospheric jungle tune.
This time all samples comes from my library.
I chopped and combined a couple of breaks plus added a sub and a lush pad for an instant classic vibe :)
Work in progress... just a loop at the moment.

.. eeezzz....
Whats your favourite sequencer?
Thanks for the question!
Of the hardware sequencers I used the Hapax is the most capable one... True also that it costs more than a laptop so I would suggest it only if you really want to ditch computers and go fully dawless.
I owned a Toraiz squid for a while and it's really fun for performances. I sold it though because it didn't support song mode.
The sequencer of the SmplTrek is a bit tedious to use although not complex... Also it is rather limited in terms of CC automations.
Hope that helps you :)
@@NoyaD9 do you have a broad selection of instruments to pair with each time you make tracks? Are you reselling constantly to maintain spirit?
@@NoyaD9 i dont mind using a daw to sequence though the laptop housing it is old so i have crossed some problems with buffer overload deriving some delays in the live recording.
I like to make sequences and then manipulate them with automation live to make full pieces... i sold Play which was a good sequencer but only sequenced vsts.
I am interested in the gameboys because i am a lazyboy producer haha you know what i mean
@@Rollur1234 in regards of hardware... I bought some over the year and kept the one which has the best combination of sounding good and being easy to work with.
I tend to put it in perspective of what music I would like to produce.
And yes, before I buy a new one I make sure I'm selling one I don't use.
I can bring you the example of drum machines: I started on a low budget with the Volca Drum, spent time exploring it and saw its potential, then decided to sell it to buy an LXR-02. Now I'm quite happy with it and won't invest in a new drum machine.
Same for synths. I was lucky to find a used Virus B which is a multi-timbral polyphonic synth and don't really need to go for others (although sometimes I get tempted)
@@NoyaD9 u seem like a big gearhead, i sold out for a downpayment on a car :D i had digitakt (sorry EZBOT), play, BEHRINGER DR8, KORG MONOLOGUE, volcas.. miss play the most. Now i am thinking squid hapax or op one. These kinds of sequencers suit my needs best. Hella expensive but i want to get out of the daw again :D more hands on is best and no automation wrong imo.
