Blues is a p ok wetful music bcuz it comes from the heart. U can not fake the blues. U would have to have lived that experience of live to be able to deliver it on ur instruments. Bb king from mississippi that alone gives him the blues feelings. John lee hooker from clarksville mississippi . Do we need to wonder why those became the blues legends?
It's funny how Albert Collins and others have made it possible to "create" a wonderful bluesman like SRV, and how all these legends that inspired him ended up being inspired by SRV.
@@larryvaughn314 I respectfully disagree. Albert King was Stevie's godfather and main influence. Hendrix was no doubt a huge influence, but you hear Albert in damn-near every note SRV ever played. 🎸🤘
@@theholeminute ...the unforgettable Lonnie ! They have also play together with the acoustics if i remember well ... But it's a fact that Albert was Stevie's "root note" ...
Listen to him make that guitar talk some shit, now. Have mercy! Outrageous blues off the chart and onto a new one of his. A guitar master and great innovator!
Man, that's too bad! Clifford Antone gave Albert the keys to Austin so he'd play here often. That's not to say I saw enough of him.......never enough Albert!
Um Grande BLUESMAN na guitarra ALBERT COLLINS que ja nao esta entre nos um estilo proprio e unico em que tocava a Sua GUITARRA um GRANDE MESTRE deixou muitas SAUDADES.
Albert king albert Collins eric Clapton, they all loved stevie ray like their son. Stevie ray respected them so much the same way Clapton respected BB KING
There are times in a person life when they hear, see, experience something that replays over and over in their memory banks. Some of them were Albert in concert. His sheer presence and tone were an amazing experience!
I always thought more gain is what gave the best tone. Listening to all these blues legends such as Albert here bb and Albert king. These guys guitar tones to me sound perfect and for this application it is. I love all genres but lately I’ve turned my gain down slowed down and things have gotten better. A lot more ideas
as its said in music circles Albert Collins had chops. The man had his own sound and made the guitair sting.....he was a master of the telecaster for sure.
I saw both Albert and Stevie perform in the small Texas clubs in the early 80s. This song became a favorite the first time I heard it. Somber, funny and joyful at the same time. Beautiful is the only word! Especially on the Carnegie Hall LP, SRV was so often showing such obvious joy in channeling the hard-hitting, string-bending licks inspired by Albert Collins. And here is AC, "quoting" some SRV-inspired licks right back at him. That's what makes it beautiful!
kevindlinc That's as cool as it gets his music gives me goosebumps! I'm sure he was as friendly and down to earth as I would expect. He was one of music greatest talents
Encyclopedia of coolness riffs. Edit, The Blues has been around for a long time by the time Albert Collins came along, and to be at the top takes some doing when you consider there's a million guitar players out there.
Jedyny w swoim rodzaju i niepowtarzalny ❤❤❤❤
I'll always love Albert Collins' blues. He was one of a kind.
Albert's sorrow leaks into the strings of the telecaster....2 more blues stringers gone home💞
The Blues is a powerful music.

That signature sound....he owned it, that was all his.

Love ALBERT COLLINS...What a great Bluesman.....
Will never be a replacement , honored to have met him
A master paying a tribute to a master. What else could you expect but a masterpiece?
It's funny how Albert Collins and others have made it possible to "create" a wonderful bluesman like SRV, and how all these legends that inspired him ended up being inspired by SRV.
Dont forget that SRV main mentor is Mr. HENDRIX the lord of guitarrrrr!!!!
@@larryvaughn314 I respectfully disagree. Albert King was Stevie's godfather and main influence. Hendrix was no doubt a huge influence, but you hear Albert in damn-near every note SRV ever played. 🎸🤘
And don't forget Lonnie Mack

Incredible feel a lost legend. .! His music grabs and holds my soul ..! Never saw the iceman but miss him more than I can say.. .great music. !

It's easy to tell when a mans soul pours out through 6 strings.

Both of these amazing talents are gone...what a loss! They're 2 of my all time favorites... thanks for sharing this great duo !
Tell me about it my friend! We've lost all the great blues legends. Who else do we have left?
Albert loved Stevie like a son. i Know; he told me so.
cpt444.
God Bless them both.
cpt444 great story, thank you
I still year up 😥
Albert king albert Collins eric Clapton, they all loved stevie ray like their son. Stevie ray respected them so much the same way Clapton respected BB KING
Albert Collins é o dos guitarrista de Blues o que eu mais gosto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Magic watching Collins and SRV share a stage together. Atleast through video.
This song incorporates the major scale walk up from T-Bone Walker's "Stormy Monday." A clever blues nod to the fact that SRV died on a Monday.
fivepiece You're not thunk, you're just thinking.
+fivepiece I think the whole chord progression IS Stormy Monday no?
Very similar, and you can certainly sing Stormy Monday over it. T-Bone uses different chord voicings.

On a cold rainy day in '93 I had to tell my Texan visitor that Mr. Collins had passed away. Bad year, we also lost Zappa a bit later.
