- Battletech Alpha Strike is a less complex, faster way to play Battletech, the mech on mech skirmish game created by Catalyst Game Labs. We're trying it out on the channel to see how it does!

Nice, we need more Alphastrike and Battletech Battle reports in the world
Yes, we sure do.
Need more alpha strike! Love the quality of the battle report!
Subscribed for Alpha Strike!
(the current era is the ilclan era, if anyone was interested)
Howdy! First timer here. I love Battletech and battle reports, so more of this is great!!
statics cams is great, no shaking!
This was great! You took care of the close up visuals really well which is one of my biggest pet peeves of other creators. Why can’t ya just show me the up close and personal! Haha!
Ha and I was worried I wasn’t showing enough wide shots of the whole battle! Glad you preferred that way. A common trap content creators, including myself sometimes, fall into is just playing the game not thinking about how watchable it is.
Yeay!! Battletech Alpha strike is here. Your models look great. Now to actually watch the video.
good report
cool vid. Just started looking into battletech to play with my friends and found your video
That was a fun to watch battle!
Awesome game!
Glad to see an urbie
I enjoy. When full trashcan vs trashcan match?
One day there will be a death squad of trashcans. One day.
Great video guys! One question I have: does anyone ever bother using the special abilities on the cards in their games? For example IF2 or LRM 1/1/2? I’ve gone over the rules, and to me they seem almost useless. Maybe someone could give me a good recommendation on what to look for an easier explanation. I’d like to incorporate them in my games with my buddies.
I’m still learning the game and thankfully the abilities haven’t really mattered yet. Indirect fire probably will eventually and Case can in the event of explosion but at the moment I’m trying to ease in to the core rules.
We do use the special abilities at my table, they were factored in for BV and help give the mechs unique personalities.
Quite a few are iconic and useful, (AMS, CASE, ECM, IF, REAR). If you want, "Alpha Strike: Commander's Edition" has all the special abilities in one place.
Pg.76-81 has all the 'Standard Special Abilities' which are recommended to be used in every game.
Pg.82-91 covers 'Optional Special Abilities' for the more niche rules.
And right after that are pilot abilities!
IF is useful especially when paired with TAG or NARC, good for chasing down hiding units or forcing damage on a target out of LoS and low on health. SRM/LRM/AC are more utility, although inferno missiles are great to reduce your number of of friends!
I'd be a bad pilot; All I do is Laser-Boat.
All tactics are valid tactics.
