Some people say, that the main character and her friends had an accident that's why she got injured but she's the only one survived. She's still holding on to the memories of her friends on that camera. That's why she kept playing it and reminiscing the old days when they're still alive. Then one day this boy is the only one noticing her and she finally moved on with her life. The deer was a symbol of a new beginning, but as she got older she looked back of that memory again but this time. She smiled.
I've seen many theories and they're all pretty convincing, but this one I agree with the most. The accident and her being the only survivor makes sense, because we see her injured...and the girls are wearing a different uniform than others; so I guess they're from the past/a past time from when they used to wear those uniforms??? To see her older, and reminiscing about them and their happy moments on the T.V convinces me that they were real at one point too.

My little theory notes
Ban Heesoo = Banisu = Bunnies.
The girl with camera = fans
As we support the girls people around us think that we are happy and rooting for things that are not real, only existing inside the screen. But we laugh together and support the girls through hardships thus not using the umbrella and getting wet under rain together in side a.
The girls = idols heals our soul w their songs and contents > writes messages to heesoo's cast.
The boy = new interests we have as the time goes by. Slowly films the boy more than the girls in side b. When w the girls and notices the boy, heesoo runs away> denial and feeling shame
In side b heesoo sees the girls dancing at the parking lot alone > Feels like idols are people who we really can't reach. You might like them but feel like they don't even know you exist
The things that the girls wrote on heesoo's cast are gone. > heesoo feels like she is just one of many fans to the girls.
Side b Drops the camcorder, does not go throught rain w the girls, the boy gets closer to heesoo > chose to move on with supporting the girls and new interest is now in her life.
Does not answer minji's call > starts to get away from the girls > direct reference to phoning? Starts to get insensible about all the contents and songs and stuff
The deer > love and affection? Heart of a fan? > in side a appears in snow, getting cold and finally leaves in side b to a corner of an empty school hallway> memories left in the childhood.
However, when heesoo played the tape after as a grown up, she sees everybody in the video meaning the time filming and following the girls(idols) weren't waste of time. She relives the life w the girls looking back.
Heesoo might think it is all meaningless to support idols out of reach. But the girls, newjeans were always looking at heesoo the fans and imagining us the bunnies in their own ways, like we did for them> end of side a minji and other girls drawing heesoo on the board.
Sooooooo many theories! But the one that sticks out to me is her choosing between her imaginary life side A and her reality life side B . Everytime she puts her video camera down she notices the boy more. One theory is its about the relationship of a fan and their idols. But the lyrics are more about young love.. how shes telling the guy how she feels but doesnt know what he feelings back. So she keeps waiting for confirmation .. even just as simply saying ditto .
The guy symbolizes the reality (her love interest) and new jeans symbolizes her (happiness) since she’s alone (the reality) she is going through hard times. The ml girl symbolizes (fans) fans who are going through tough times and new jeans (meaning all Kpop groups) making fans happy. But it can also become unhealthy (which is why she dropped the camera) camera symbolizes (phones/electronics) watching our idols and listening to their music. Them (idols) taking away sadness in life. The guy/her love interest symbolizes the (reality) she tries to avoid (escaping the reality). Notice how the song is about love. The love (symbolize reality) - the guy she like is in reality which makes her try to avoid but she later on realizes. New jeans (idols) her happiness. Reality=sadness+love interest+loneliness.
Also the main character (the girl) is the actress from "All off Us Are Dead"
She was also the voice actor for donkey in shrek 5

OH I KNEW THE GIRL LOOKED SO FAMILIAR
It is kinda complicated to explain all scene. But I'm more into a story that the girl who filmming all times is a symbol of newjeans fan(=Bunnies) So, basically it is like a relation between musician and a fan. Also, it includes feeling that u got when u r adolescence or while growing up. Their fans r always watching them n stan them but sometimes it feels like one direction relation bc they r only can be seen through the screen. So that's why I think the girl hold the camera almost in every scene. The moment she meet a deer means that she finally facing the reality. She starts to look around the real world. For the last part, she grow up and she find an old video(=memory when she was young) and think about the past and the musician that she loved.

shared an umbrella or got rained on, fell into idol groups, and later became estranged, but the memories of that time became closer than the camera and became one with my precious memories. 😍
The theory about this mv being about kpop fans and kpop idols is so mind-blowing. The girl with the camera symbolizing the fans who are watching kpop content or thinking about their idols more than living their own life is so sad and incredible to me. The girl with a camera also became a loner because of it (maybe because she distanced herself or because everyone thinks she is weird for liking kpop so much), but that one guy worries about her. If she wouldn't let the camera (which symbolizes a phone, a computer...) rest, she never would walk with that guy (could be romantic or a friendship). Also, in the parking lot, when NewJeans are dancing on their own, the girl sees them being the same with her or without her in their lives. They will keep doing their job, but she needs to live her life. At the end, when she is older and reproduces the video, she comes back to kpop with another mindset and the girls enter in her room again, so she lets them into her life once again. I heard this theory in Hyeautiful's channel and i think it's so beautiful.
One big theory is basically all the girls got into an accident and many think it was a car accident caused by a deer, and that accident lead to all the members dying except for the main girl (recorder girl). And the deer is a symbol of healing or moving on and the guy she was walking with I feel like that showed us that she finally moved on

Edit: so many theories but i think they got into an accident together and her friends, newjeans, passed away. She was still pretending they were there and the guy was watching her cause he noticed and liked her. Explains the scenes where her classmates are looking at her recording nothing and the heart not being on her cast anymore. I think when she dropped the camera was a sign of her taking the chance to move past it and the boy helped because she also liked him. I think when she put the tape in, thats her as an adult because she dusted the tapes off meaning it’s been a while since she touched it. Then she played the tapes after however long and saw her friends. She probably missed them as an adult after a traumatic experience which led to them passing away.

It’s basically a person who can communicate to a person or a group of people from the past? Which explains why newjeans and the girl has different uniforms. A theory adding on to this is that the main character (camera girl) could only see them through the camera which is why when she plays the video, you can see newjeans but her classmates and pov outside of her camera can’t. But idk 🤷♂️
