Got a 49L Pelican like yours on my R1200GS.
Like it more than FACTORY big CUBe-ish design.
The Pelican is better dimension and usable space.
Glad somebody else discovered it's benefits.

Is your rack the stock h-d one? I did the same as you, but picked up an aftermarket tour pack from an online company. I mounted it similar to yours. My rack (an h-d accessory) has no slop in it. If you are on anything other than a smooth road, it will rattle.

Consider TURNING the Pelican around...so that you can OPEN from the BACK.
Also mounted some SADDLE clamps (8) around the case for WEBBING ratcheting tie downs.

I subscribed man. One statement and then a question.
You should break it back down and use some rubber washers between the metal washers and the plastic. This will ease a little tension off the plastic and also give you a bit of a water barrier.
How is that seat holding up? And have you had anyone ride with you on it? I have had my eye on that seat for a minute.

Appreciate you my man! And I have some rubber washers on hand I will throw in there thanks for the advise.
Also the seat is doing great. We haven’t ridden to far out on the highway yet (weather won’t cooperate). But the wife and kiddo love it compared to the stock one.
