- Jet2 trip report flying from Mallorca to Birmingham on a Boeing 737 with the Jet2 Holidays livery on sunny a hot summer morning.
This was my first flight with Jet2 and, for sure, I will repeat with them as soon as I get the chance to do so. The whole experience was awesome: starting on the check-in, then on the boarding gate, the music on the bus to the plane, the original cabin, the really engaging crew, the meal onboard... You'll be able to check in the video that Jet2 is an airline really worth flying with!

I have travelled with JET2 many times and always impressed with their service, efficiency and friendliness of the staff. My wife is partially disabled and has difficulty using the aircraft steps so we use the assistance service. I can only say what a perfect service at departure and destination airport. Jet2 points out of 10 has to be 12. I have NEVER been able to fault the service and friendliness. Thank you

It was a great experience with Jet2. And of course the pilots helped a lot with all the updates, both during the delay on the ground and inflight. I will repeat with Jet2 as soon as I will have the chacne to do so! :)
I have flew with Jet2 many times, and as always my experience was great! They let me record take off and landing, the staff are friendly. And as I am a young enthusiast, they let me get a picture in the cockpit once the plane landed! They operate my favourite aircraft, and the aircraft has a lot of leg room. The food is amazing and I have never been a fan of aircraft food! By far my favourite airline and i hope to work for them when I am older! 5 stars!

I don't blame you! If an airline gives you amazing service, I don't see why not to fly again with them. I'll probably try them in the future. We've been flying easyjet all these years there. Been watching your other reports. You have it SMACK ON how it feels to be a travelling passenger.it really creates the atmosphere; the airport areas, boarding,seating, the sounds etc makes you feel you're flying on the plane!! I love jet 2 holidays, been 2 times s/c in Greece this year and off again in Oct. Plenty of leg room and excellent customer service. Keep up the good work.

My wife and I are retired and manage two (maybe three) holidays a year. We always use Jet2 - lovely aircraft, usually on time and the staff are great.
This was my first experience flying with Jet2 and I can only say good things about them. The whole experience was great.
I had read very good reviews about Jet2, but the real thing was even better.
I will definitely fly with them again as soon as I will have the chance to do so.

Myself and my wife started using Jet2 in 2014 and we really do like them the aircraft even though some may be 30 years old are immaculate inside and outside the staff are very professional and we always have a enjoyable experience with jet2
I fly with jet2 every year. Best airline in the Uk hands down!! They give you the 22kg luggage and 10kg hand luggage. With Ryan air easy jet and other cheap airlines you don’t get this offer

The hot pre-ordered meal is a huge plus in my opinion. Many other airlines could learn about this...

Jet2 started from my local airport Leeds/Bradford in 2003.Flown with them too many times to count. Think they are one of the best airlines around. Always my first choice.

I'm flying with Jet2 again this Friday! This experience from Mallorca was so good that I wanted to fly with them again! This time I will be flying from Birmingham to Prague! :)
Actually, they started back in 1978 at Bournemouth as a cargo airline Express Air Services, later Channel Express (these are where the EXS code and CHANNEX callsign come from). 2003 was just when they relocated, rebranded, and moved into passenger service.
The beautiful 757 ..... blink and you're in the air ! Those engines are immense !

Great video, I may have flown on G-DRTG in the past as I have flown Jet2 many times. G-DRTG used to operate for Shenzhen Airlines before being purchased by Jet2, and she is currently almost 13 years old.

Actually, this was my first experience with Jet2. I've decided to give them a try after some reviews that I watched in "Blake Edginton - Airborne" TH-cam channel, and definitely, it was the best decision I've taken for the channel in the last months.
The onboard experience was just perfect. I can guarantee you that you'll enjoy a lot your flight to Turkey! :)

OnBoardHD - Flight Experience we go the the Side resort about an hour from the airport. The Barut hotels are all good. We go all inclusive. If it’s a sun holiday sitting by pool or on beach you want, I’d recommend the resort and hotel group.

I love Jet2! I flew from Palma Majorca to Newcastle international Airport amazing experience going again this year. Love the breakfast and the flight attendants it was amazing ❤️

As you've said in your video, the experience with Jet2 is really good. I've enjoyed every single minute of my flight a lot. And the meal was just great: tasty and good quantity.

La verdad es que es una cabina diferente a lo habitual que se ve por Europa hoy en día. Esta cabina está lejos de las típicas con tonalidades de grises. Se puede apreciar que la aerolínea quiere que el pasajero se sienta de vacaciones desde el momento en el que pone un pie en el avión. Sin duda de las mejores experiencias que he tenido volando por Europa. Repetiré con esta aerolínea siempre que pueda.

We always use Jet2 for package holidays. Never had any issues whatsoever. Brilliant service end to end!

Jet2 one of best airlines ever to fly with staff are very helpful cheery and can't do enough for you check in very quick no messing about flying with them again booked for summer 2020 anyone not used jet 2 and thinking about it do it you won't be disappointed

I use Jet2 twice each year (4 flights total). From Leeds to Barcelona and also a trip to Alicante. Can’t fault them at all. A great service IMO.

Great trip report yet again. I love the way you tell us about all the aircrafts, and their destinations, you see on the tarmac. Another thing I noticed was that there are mostly budget and holiday airlines operating at Mallorca, I know that it is a holiday destination but don't other big carriers operate there?

I always try to add as much info as I can in every video. All the info that I put from other aircraft is gathered from the airport info screens and FlightRadar24 app.
Definitely yes, main airlines operate in Palma de Mallorca airport (Lufthansa, Iberia, Air France, Swiss...) but they use another part of the airport.
As you've said, the holiday traffic during the summer season is just enormous, so they use a part of the airport for all those tourists. That part of the airport is also fitted with many shops that are orientated to that kind of passenger.

I flew with them in January from STN to GVA, I was going for work. The plane was all but empty, new and service was excellent, as was the price. Flew back to LCY with BA, same experience on an ERJ 190 but far more expensive, as I live in Colombia I love the English and Spanish subtitles.

I have never been on Jet 2 but i am going on them next week im going from London Stanstead towards Allicante i am very excited and it is my first time in Lanzarote so im a pretty excited.

Totalmente de acuerdo! Esta cabina, como la de casi todas las low-cost, se sale del típico gris (y tonalidades de gris) de la gran mayoría de aerolíneas.
La comida fue previo pago online, pero al menos estaba rica, caliente y buena cantidad. Podían aprender otras aerolíneas de este servicio... No se como es en Mexico, pero en Europa sólo 2 o 3 aerolíneas ofrecen este servicio...

Nice report Lucas. Have never flown with Jet2 but I like the fact that you can pre-order breakfast in addition to the 'buy on board' service. British Airways could learn from this. As tasty as the food you ordered was, I bet it wasn't the same standard as Austrian's pre-order breakfast!!

To be honest, the quality of Do&Co breakfast (the one that you can pre-order with Austrian) is much better but is also more expensive. However, that being said, the Jet2 breakfast was really tasty. I will order it again on my next flight, for sure!
Absolutely agree with you, many airlines could learn from this. You can only order it with some days in advance so I think is not difficult for the airlines to offer this service...

Because of the route I travel regularly, I am restricted to Lufthansa Group (Lufthansa Swiss Helvetic in the main) unless I want to pay crazy prices. For narrow bodied aircraft I much prefer Airbus over Boeing, but having said that I wouldn't change my travel plans just to change the manufacturer. As for the interior, I definitely prefer those of the Legacy Airlines, although having said that, many of the budget carriers are far more in your face!
I usually treat myself to an upgrade to business class, so many might think it unfair for me to compare, however, Jet2 faired very well, and were way better than I had expected - especially with the food I pre-ordered. I was impressed, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again if they flew a route my usual choice did not.

After flying a lot of times with almost every airline in Europe... I can't say that I enjoy more flyign legacy airlines than low-costs. Not at all.
Of course, there are some exceptional legacy airlines... but the majority are now charging tickets like legacy carriers and offering low-cost service.
Jet2, TUI and Condor are completely apart. They are holiday airlines and they focus a lot on the passenger experience. That's why I fly so much with them. The flight itself is the start of the holidays. They are very unique :)
@@OnBoardHD To be honest, my comment about the Legacy carriers was more aimed at the cabin interior rather than the service.
The journey I make most often is not directly served from any convenient Airport, leaving me with little choice for a 7+ hour journey from check-in to being met at my destination airport, even longer if (when!) I miss my connection, hence the reason I always try to upgrade to Business class - although welcome, it is more the Lounge access (especially if a connection is missed), quicker check-in, boarding and luggage coming off first which matter more than the flight itself - those little 'perks' can knock 45-60 minutes off the door to door times, and at least 30 minutes standing in queues. Fortunately I am completely flexible so am able to get good deals - once I checked it against an equivalent journey on Jet2 and thanks to Jet2's dynamic pricing, their cheapest offer between Budapest and Manchester was more expensive than Lufthansa's Business on the same route on the same day. (I fly to Belgrade which was usually the same cost as to Budapest with Lufhansa group)

Jet2 are currently leasing 2 A330s from AirTanker (G-VYGL and G-VYGM). However, they only lease them during the summer (as they have done in 2017, 2018, and now 2019).
Yep, as the other guys said, they use it during the summer season for the most demanded routes.

Este fue mi primer vuelo con esta aerolínea, un tanto desconocida para los Españoles, pero un icono para vuelos vacacionales en Inglaterra. La verdad es que me sorprendió y mucho. Ya había visto algunos vídeos en otros canales que hablaban muy bien de Jet2, pero la realidad superó todo lo bueno que decían de ella.
Sin duda repetiré con ellos en cuanto tenga otra oportunidad para ello.

La verdad es que es muy original, como bien dices. Se sale del típico color gris y sus distintas tonalidades que usan muchas aerolíneas.
La personalización de la cabina es algo que, en general, todas las low-cost hacen muy bien! :)

Enjoyed the video, you captured some stunning views! I don't think I'd be in any hurry to fly Jet2 Holidays though, those chirpy, patronising cabin announcements would drive me insane!! Still, they have their target market, and if all that verbal hand-holding works for them, then good luck to them.

@@OnBoardHD I'd be interested to see a comparison between normal Jet2 and Jet2 Holidays. I suspect as 'Holidays' is, as the name suggests, aimed at the package holiday market, the experience might be a bit different. Unfortunately they no longer fly from my local airport (Gatwick), so it's not easy for me to try them out. But maybe I'll give them a try from Stansted one day when I'm feeling adventurous! 😄
@@andybaker2456 As far as I know, the only thing that is different is just the livery of the plane. They paint some with the Jet2Holidays livery as kind of advertising.

I’ve flown with jet 2 before on their a330 to Tenerife from Manchester and I thought it was brilliant!

@@OnBoardHD Many thanks - I have a little phobia of 'dying' so find myself drawn to vids like yours when a flight is imminant (Friday 13th this time - 4 weeks). They look like a really good airline and I like the automatic commentary - almost child TV - very calming. I have watched this vid about 100 times so far since friday lol :)

This was my first flight ever with Jet2 and, honestly, I can only say good things about them. The whole flight was a great experience. I've enjoyed a lot since the check-in until I was already outside Birmingham airport. The experience onboard was really good and the food really tasty and with enough quantity!
I will fly with them again as soon as I will have the chance to so again!

Hi Lucas. Another great review. I really love it when you get to film other aircraft flying in the distance. It gives a great perspective on the speed that they fly at. That one you got on film there was zooming by. Don't know how you spotted it. Also I thought the jet2 inflight announcements were great. A bit cheesy but they sounded very friendly. Seems like a friendly airline to fly with....Cheers, g
I would like to film more planes during the cruise, but they are really difficult to spot unless they are producing a trail.
The whole experience with Jet2 was fantastic. I will fly with them again as soon as possible. That's for sure.
I think the hot pre-ordered meal is a huge plus that many other airlines could learn from.

You have a steady hand in that case. I did a take off video with my iphone 10 on an Egyptair 737-800 and it was a bit bouncy, must have been the runway at Luxor.
Well, I think it's just the result of being doing this for many years. Even before creating this channel I loved to record all the flights that I was doing. 😊

One of my fav airlines jet 2
This was my first experience with Jet2. I've decided to fly with them after some very good reviews that I watched in "Blake Edgininton - Airborne" TH-cam channel. I think I could not make a better decision!
The whole experience was fantastic. Even with the almost 1h delay, we had due to traffic in Palma I've enjoyed a lot.
I will definitely fly with them again as soon as I will have the chance to so! :)

This is the case at East mids airport most of the time...... Ryanair: check-in line is so busy,all of it is full! Jet2: check in is almost literally empty

I do agree! I've enjoyed a lot the onboard experience. I will fly with them again as soon as possible. Actually, both Jet2 and TUI are amazing airlines that care a lot about the passenger experience onboard, don't you think?
@@OnBoardHD Not only onboard, but they were also amazing and helpful when my daughter was in hospital in Corfu town, i had a message and call every day to check if we need anything. Onboard, the crew was perfect, experienced and professional.

@@OnBoardHD I was taken ill on a flight home from Palma to Manchester on board a Jet2 A330 on 23rd July, the cabin crew couldn't have been better with me. And 2 days later I had a phone call from Jet2 to see if I was feeling better. Thought it was a really nice touch.

Flying from Manchester. Been on Jet 2 737 800 3 times, The A330 once and the 757 G-LSAG twice.
737 800 Man - Rho and 757 Rho - Man this year.
The A330 is a great Aircraft, loads of room and in 242 configuration.
Search Jet A330 Storm Aileen Wednesday 13 September 2017 that was our departure.

Virgin and British Airways have free drinks on them for everybody which is great
It's been some years since British Airways doesn't offer anything for free. Just in long-haul flights. For European flights, you have to pay for everything.

First of all, welcome to the channel!
Definitely, as Anna Karic said in another comment, I also recommend you watching Mentour Pilot channel videos about turbulences and that stuff. He is a Boeing 737 captain and explains everything really good.
Anyway, the turbulences are just a normal part of every flight. You can think them like the waves on the sea. The boats can perfectly float with them and sometimes you can feel them, but there is just water that is moving. That's it.
Turbulences are exactly the same but applied to the air, the plane is moving in the air (as the boat does in the water) and those "turbulences" are just air that is moving (similar to the waves on the sea). As the plane is moving in that air, the plane is moved a little by those turbulences. Is nothing to fear about. Is 100% safe to fly in turbulences, though I agree is not comfortable as a perfectly smooth fligth.
