You dont need any college or university degree to do this. Just have very good decision making skills and apply and show you have what it takes to do the role

To me it looked like a puff of smoke from when the fuel was injected into the engine (which is normal) that passed in between the camera and the red beacon light on the belly of the aircraft. The red beacon light only flash intermittently so it made the smoke look red for an instant and may have seemed like sparks. You are suppose to see the beacon light a lot more, but either there is something wrong with the light or it’s the camera that is recording with too few frames per second to pick it up properly.
I joined the railway 40 years ago. In comparison to where the wages are now it was poorly paid. True money pays bills but I'd not change my career choice even with a low wage as I got the job I wanted and still enjoy.

But at Gatwick they don’t allow the ground crew to approach and connect the power while the engines are running. So the pilots start a small turbine engine in the tail called a APU to produce electricity so they can shut down both engines and the ground crew can approach and connect the ground power. When the aircraft eventually is powered by the ground they can shut down the APU again. We would prefer to not have to start the APU, but the UK are not very common sense when it comes to their procedures so we have to do it this way.
