MORE MINNESOTA HUNTS PLEASE! We have almost every landscape in the country, in one state. From a fresh water ocean surrounded by mountainous terrain, to the great plains, and everything in-between. There's even a plam tree in Posidon's front yard in St Cloud and a fire-breathing dragon in Ogilvie. Hunting, fishing, camping, and exploring the great outdoors is well worth the trip! I highly recommend the lake trout at the cuyuna state park. The lakes can get as deep as 575 feet with water clarity at about 100 feet. The rainbows are like cartoon fishing. Or try the walleye on Leach Lake. We got bear, deer, grouse, pheasant, tons of waterfowl... If you stay away from the politics of the state and the cities, this is a truly amazing state.
Tony...after listening to EP 867 and being a big fan of everyone of you're episodes....I wanna say Thanks....and gratitude. Because of how willing you are in putting out your thoughts and ideas and showing a little bit of yourself and you're family life. It's a rare thing....I hope to see more of these type of episodes....because it'll show some of us how much the social media bs doesn't matter....do what makes you happy....so thanks again to be willing to show this side of your life. Keep it up...and keep up the foundations episodes....it helps me in my day to day....along with my adult onset hunting disease that I'm gradually (sorta) coming to grips with. You're one of a kind!
Congrats, Tony, on the beautiful buck! What a gift for you and your family. I just got out this year on some MN public land and harvested my first deer (and buck) this year and I am absolutely addicted at the young age of 32. Cool to see you hunt the Midwest and MN especially as I believe we have some great deer here and an abundance of land to hunt as well.
Love the vids of Tony, I listened to a ridiculous amount of Sporting Dog Talk before getting and while my pup was little on how to train and work with hunting dogs. Awesome podcast I was sad to see go but really glad to see the new work from him.
I really enjoy your episodes Tony. I see house cats at least every couple sits on both properties I hunt. At least where I hunt the deer don't really care as long as they can see them. I think the deer know they are not a threat as long as they can confirm what it is. When I was a kid our house cat at the time (RIP Smudge) would actually hang out with deer in our yard. It was kind of cool to look out in the morning and see your cat and a group of doe just chillin like 75yrds in the side yard.
I love your comment about your best/well thought out plans just being OK... Seems to be the same for me... I can get this or that place dialed in and have really good patterns on buck only to see bump a buck on my way in in the morning or having them come in right after legal shoot in the evening.. I've actually shot my best deer in areas I had no idea about and during "observation" sits... glad I brought the bow...haha
I’m with you on the more “wild” hunts. I hunt public land in the deep south. No feeding, no food plots (there are some planted by the state but they’re what you’d expect), no fixed stands, no hunting blinds. Even one piece of public you can’t scout, only go in on scheduled hunts. It’s so much more fun to scout your way in, setup, and bag a deer on a winning lottery ticket. I’ve hunted a couple of times on private clubs and such and it just ain’t hunting. It’s raising and killing. I just don’t have the mind set to sit in a box over a field and/or a feeder and call it hunting or fun..
18:25 ..cats don't eat songbirds! Cats learn real quick that the feathers make them vomit and don't pursue because of it. Cats just like wolves will kill for sport just like how a kid plays. Dogs do the same and that's why when you see a deer trail wanderer you take care of it.
Great hunting and nice result!! Kind of an odd take on why he's a dog person. Like... if a dog suddenly came through, yo u think they wouldn't spook? lol
up in my state Ny(sucks) but the hunting is pretty good for white tail. gotta work for it sometimes but they get thick. we got 180-200lb 4 and 6 pointers in my area. they eat good and get very fat. my best was last year. over 200 lb 10 ptr. was thick as a tree. not super wide though
To each their own.... But that was not a mature buck. Would have been a really nice buck if you let him live another year or two. I get it, this is meat eater. But everyone loves shooting big bucks. And you can't shoot big bucks if you shoot them while they're young

Tony Peterson is a real dude. That’s why everybody likes these videos. The best Meat Eater Personality in my opinion . Keep up the good work.
I will pretty much mainline any content by Tony Peterson. This was a GREAT video! More, please! 🙂
I love any content to do with Tony Peterson. What a awesome guy

Some of us will never have the chance to hunt these animals and we will be forever grateful for these videos
?
Don’t vote for democrats and I think you may get a chance!
You live in the 1 or 2, or however many, state(s) that don’t have them? 😂😂😂

So cool to watch a hunt in an area I know very well. Good show!
I have never hunted a day in my life, but watching these videos definitely makes me want to try it.
Watching Montana Elk and then getting to watch Whitetail probably 30-50 miles from where I live is so awesome. Great content!

Sweet action Tony, congrats
Who else misses the "First week in November" series???
Can't believe they scratched it this year. Was my favorite ME series.
Great teacher.
Great guy! Great vid!
I loves these guys
Love it Tony!
I would love to see you make a video of you hunting a Pacific Northwest black-tail deer.
Too hard….. juice not worth the squeeze. But I agree would be awesome
You should come hunt the arrowhead region 😂 lots of staring at trees and watching the wolves
Lol! Cat woulda been on the menu real quick! That was funny yea you cant plan for that
Happy Thanksgiving everyone
Hell yeah brother

Just got skunked on a two day public land hunt down here in Georgia lol
Lower Alabama here man. Im with ya. These pressured deer are hard, but rewarding.
Love the videos
Pretty nice buck brother
He’s still up there waiting on that big buck
POWER SICRETY MAN🎉
Anyone else get anxious when a doe blows, even in a video that you aren't in?! That sound probably haunts every bowhunter.
Do you ever hunt in Northern Minnesota south of Duluth? Or Northeastern Minnesota
Meowwwww….thwack!
“Reason number 7 why I am a dog guy”. So how do you feel about coyotes then? 😂😂😂😂
Happen to be near Winona, MN?
Great video, and yes, outdoor cats suck mostly, but a dog can F up a hunt just the same. Control your pets folks!
How come you never see any deer calls used? In any of the elk or moose hunting videos they always use horns.

Give him 2 years
big buck?
Why the hell does it take MeatEater so long to push these videos out? Sept hunt coming out at the end of Nov.
Great hunting and nice result!! Kind of an odd take on why he's a dog person. Like... if a dog suddenly came through, yo u think they wouldn't spook? lol
I don’t think there is any big bucks in Minnesota unless it’s on private

Cats dont belong in the woods, feral or Irresponsible pet owner.

Why you use gloves to field dress??? I’ve gutted 15 probably and never used them, just curious👍great deer
No Steve no view
I understand why, but the constant whispering just doesn"t do it for me.. You've got a great voice, please do some voice-overs
Go vegan!
Yeah go home vegan! lol just having fun I support the right for you to pick what you eat…….. except humans
You are what you eat, and deer are vegan, so . . .
Was going to watch it until I saw the bow. A cruel ego driven way to kill.
poor you
So are cars when they hit deer, stop driving
At what point do you just shut up and hunt ?
