Good job, nice vid, info & content, thanks mate, I learned a lot from ur vids. i have a very similar 2010, yours is a bit prettier than mine tho. I have been having some PTO issues but think I am nearly on top of it now, or Ill be threatening to sell it again. Started with a seized bearing in PTO output shaft, fixed that & broke the adjustable linkage, welded it up & the damn thing (PTO clutch) is slipping all the time with the slasher, pull it apart thinking oil got into the plates, so I clean & polish the plates with petrol & then buff with a stiff fibrous grinder type wheel for rust removal etc, the disks are copper and steel by the way, with 1 more steel than copper plate. Anyways, put it together but it still slips, so Im thinking that the adjustable linkage needs a small adjustment since being welded on 2 occasions now, and that the clutch is not properly engaging, hence the slippage. I have only removed the PTO box from the rear so far, but I can see that I may yet have to go in deep as u have to get the adjustment correct as there is little room to get ur hand in this PTO box area to remove pins etc. i did/do not want to go this route unless I really have to, as I have a neat trick, I get my wife to get her lovely little hands dirty in the bow’s of the JD while I watch on with a beer, it can take a couple hours of watching her drop stuff until she gets it, but it does make the whole job much more entertaining & bearable. So, thanks for ur efforts here, this has really helped open my eye’s to what is going on in there, & thanks for ur Facebook link & manuels. Cheers from Oztralia
Thats a dry sump.. I see oil in there so there could be oil on the clutch disks. Working through the same thing, PTO shaft seal leaked as well as the Rockshaft assembly gasket and O ring..
Sounds like your father has great taste! Haha! If you or your father are on facebook, here is a link to a page dedicated to the 2010 and at the top of the page in the pinned post is a link to a shop manual for the 2010 if he decides to tackle the job of fixing the tractor himself. Thanks for watching!! facebook.com/groups/1869532279950127/
