I can’t even begin to say how much of a relief it was to hear the price especially after discount because I was literally thinking here we go another $1200 optic
Tactical Tim never humps his rifle up a mountain. An optic that weight is a range toy or a truck gun. My NXS night force weights about that. I put it on a range toy. I use a Strike Eagle it isn't the best but it's good enough.
The biggest issue with scopes is the durability. Adding some meat to me is just fine as long as I am not afraid to drop, bang or get it wet or dirty. Don't skip leg day because anything will be heavy sooner or later. Lifetime warranty plus $46 off...willing to try it.
I grabbed a Monstrum 1-6 (or 1-8?) ffp a few years ago and I love it. It's got a horseshoe reticle that's sized just right that it acts just like a red dot at 1x and has a nice BDC ladder for longer yardage.
Monstrum mades very good scopes, a year ago You showed Their 4X16X50 With a very good MOA RETICLE TREE FOR LONG RANGE BULLISTIC CALCULATION , CRISTAL CLEAR LENSE .
Mo strum makes some really quality optics. I have 4of their offerings and im anout to employ all mknstrum on all my rifles. They are top notch and very affordable
hard to pay that $$$ when primary arms just had a sale on their SFP scope for $180, and essentially it was $100 with the bonus bucks if you were able to get it fast enough.
I got my Arkangel for 160 😅 Momstrum gives 20% off every launch. PA is SFP, and I'm not sure if that scope even has ED glass. PA is typically made in the same China shops.. they where a solid choice until they jacked prices up a few years ago.. Ive been reviewing both on my channel for a while now...PA should have never increased the price of the slx line when they dropped the premium PLX line...they just cant compete with monstrum any more on the budget/value side...especially since Monstrum now has ED glass. 😅
What is the useable eye relief? I find that most companies tend to exaggerate the eye relief, and Monstrum claims this is 4”-4.5” which seems unlikely. I really do like the design and the reticle, although I wish it came in a choice of green or red illumination. The weight is an issue, with it weighing over a full pound more than the majority of 1-6 FFP LVPOs (36.5 ounces vs 17 ounces for their Panzer FFP for example), so I’d REALLY like to see a torture test on this thing to see if the extra weight actually makes a difference. Thanks for the review, I was actually just looking at this thing yesterday lol. I look forward to your response. Thanks!
I would love to know why red dot on 1×6? Why not a 6×prism or a fixed 6 power scope with red dot? That would weigh less and be more robust. Not sure which way to go on a new build
@@mortem-tyrannis I recently bought a FFP optic. It's weird. At 1x power, it's just a standard crosshair. At 8x, it has a BDC that is pretty easy to read and easy to use. But everything in between is practically useless. The BDC isn't large enough to read at anything under 6x, so it seems the optimal way to use it is to either throw it to 1x for closer targets and back to 8x for longer ranged ones. Yet, the intermediate ranges get wonky there. Boils down to a skill issue. I just need more time behind it. I imagine its similar for most people.
@jproberson528 I have a ffp 2-10 from monstrum and I don't have that issue. It's also the only ffp I own so I'm no expert but I like both ffp and sfp so far.
The weight, the mount and the cross hair instead of just a 2 moa dot or even Chevron are the reasons why I wouldn't buy it. I'd rather just get a 1-6 wire optic nova from PA.
Its a lwrc. The best AR for money on the market in my opinion. I have one. Zero malfunctions and super accurate. They range from 1300 to 2500k depending on the model you get.
Why so square and not a tube? Seems it would be more $$ to manufacture as well as add unnecessary weight. I have Monstrum scopes and dots so I'm not bashing, just think it's an unnecessary exercise in style and design vs. functionality and practicality.
ok the integrated pic rail is nice. other than that... the design and build is.... not good lol. it looks like they just didnt finish machining the outside. what up with those little dimples all over it? looks like a pistol dot mounting interface or something. it looks heavy. and its 1-6.. maybe 1-8 or 1-10 would justify the weight... it looks like it was designed initially as a digitized auto aiming laser system, but then they just left all that out. whats that arm on the bottom that sticks out forward... is that part of the mount? why does it need that extra rail out front? it looks like the rear ocular lens was pulled off of a different lpvo and shoved into the back of this angular monstrosity.. nope not for me. i tried a monstrum prism and i returned it, since then i just pony up for sig or holosun or primary arms
Holy mackeral... the first 1:42 of that video was horrible... get over the look at me shoot and listen to nonsense building music... just review the product and cut out all the look at me cook foolishness

I really like the square look. Got the Monstrum Cyborg dot and magnifier for similar reason and love it
Was looking at the cyborg. How do you like it?

Personally, the looks are part of the pros for me. I love the futuristic shape.
That rifle is the nicest one I've seen on 704. You better review that one Mike. So sweet looking. I love this optic too.
LWRC makes top tier rifles. That could be an M6 or an SPR. Hard to tell. It's definitely one of the two.
Personally I like Monstrum stuff. Have a few red dots and they run fine. For me this bad boy is overkill.

@r.l.royalljr.3905 might look into getting one once the budget permits.

Gotta get it for the space bandit build
Great intro! Love the shooting footage

I like the looks of it. Very futuristic looking. Pretty amazing value too. How do you get your camera shots looking through the scope.
i have a phone adapter i got from amazon

Why was the reticle rotating like it was physically moving

Very different look, aren't the turrets oddly far forward?
One rarely makes turret adjustments after zeroing an FFP LPVO. Holdovers are your friend 😁
@henryg2960 true, not complaining about there positioning, just how different it appears
Looks like a beast

the monstrum ladon is interesting 1-6 weight is 1lb its 70 bucks and comes with a cantilever mount !
Those are great as well
@704TACTICAL it goes well with my 2lb ar15
Monstrum has great optics for the price. I was looking at the ladon as well, but the price really gives me pause. It seems way too cheap to be good.
The Ladon truly punches way above its price for sure. It's a great LPVO for a range rifle.
Wait, all that bulk and no night vision or thermal?
I love all of the features, except the weight. Just a little overkill.
8 oz is no big deal if you think about it lol
I dig the look, but it does look heavy.
The minute I saw that FPP, I immediately said naw not for me lol

😮 Very AFFORDABLE HEAVINESS 😢
Monstrum or Monstrosity?
It looks heavy because it is. 2.25lbs
for me, I'd be putting this onna rifle that is gonna be shot on a bipod 99% of the time so an extra few ounces really seems negligible.
I like monstrum, but not sure about their lifetime warranty. I had a red dot that failed, couldn’t find the email, they told me to kick rocks

Honestly if the red dot is on it, no point in having a 1-6x..
Way too heavy for what it is, the price does not make up for that.
With all this stuff coming out at the prices its at there's no reason the 2024 Elcan 1-4 is being sold for $3-4K
