I not only have audio anxiety I have video anxiety which means I’m not only scared of revealing my voice I’m scared of revealing my face. Not just to strangers, even my friends.
I really hate that introvert has become synonymous with being shy. Introverted ppl aren’t always shy and I’ve met plenty of ppl that are extroverted but are very shy (which must be torture for them). I’m a huge introvert but if ppl talk to me I can easily hold a conversation and go out partying with friends. I just choose to be by myself a lot of the time bc it takes so much energy for me to be out and about with ppl especially going things I don’t feel like doing. The way to tell if you're an introvert and not just shy. If you can stay at home by yourself on the weekend and feel refreshed without being antsy about wanting to go out, you're an introvert. If you get freaked out about social interaction and actively avoid people because of anxiety, that's not an introvert, that's shyness or social anxiety. Totally different

Anything beyond that entails debilitating anxiety. Maybe I'm projecting, but that's how I experience introversion. It's not so bad, though. As you said, we do like being alone.

My life story - (or story of all introverts) • My relatives criticize and mock me for not speaking much and force me to speak. They make my parents think that I am abnormal. And that is why I don't like to visit my relatives and prefer to stay at home. • My school teachers complain about me for not speaking enough and tell my parents that I should participate more in class (though I am good at studies). Your teachers don't know how good you are at studies until the result comes. • Have no friends at school. I am alone all time bcz no one is like me. Even though I had a true and great friend who understood me but she had to leave the school. I am that kid who is alone at the corner last bench having lunch in the lunch time, reading books, thinking when will this school torture get over (yes I think school is a torture for introverts even though I am the topper of my class) Those who can relate to my story, I want to give you a big hug and tell you that you're special and amazing ❤️

• Have no friends at school. I am alone all time bcz no one is like me. Even though I had a true and great friend who understood me but she had to leave the school. I am that kid who is alone at the corner last bench having lunch in the lunch time, reading books, thinking when will this school torture get over (yes I think school is a torture for introverts even though I am the topper of my class)

It's even worse when you have pride + is very shy + is very introverted and when you try to speak but because you don't speak much so your voice is not loud and the person either didn't listen or ignores.

For me its been a curse. I started improving myself in every aspect, then the lockdown came, and every thing went to shit. I haven't been in a room with more than 4 people my age in almost a year and its been hell for me even though im an introvert
