So awesome to get a broad view of the bike. Having a heavy vet and an old still fast pros point of view is very useful. Most riders are not pros and most are not at ideal weight, thanks. 👍
very well done.......for a first year effort sounds like they killed it, not one person has said its a bad bike and most have raved on it.....good parts, engine, chassis......can only go up from here.......am impressed they put this much effort and can tell they are serious.......the riders they need will come.......not cheap to do a build a team and brand from scratch and they are off to best possible start you can hope for........Ducati is right around the corner as well
Great to see more manufacturers coming in. The look reminds me of a 2006 YZF250. If these guys want it to pull around the track in 3rd, they want a 350cc. How is the dealer and parts accessibility? Please make a 350 off-road version.
Bike of the year or decade. I have a feeling. Keefer podcast he says the rpm build response is fast like a ebike feel or a old carb bike. I here what he’s saying
Great job as a woods rider id really like to see a 350 but i also like what i heard abot the engine on this 250 has a 42 hour recommended service something about the piston design lasting longer thats great esp if the valves dont have to be adjusted all the time
All I'm saying is we know it's a good motorcross bike, but put it on the GNCC track and see how it does in the woods, and that's the true test that's the environment of a true dirt bike.
Torx screws will pack up with died mud and will have to be dug out for use. Not a super convenient choice. Maybe they saved a pound of weight using those, who knows?
I like the option for Torx on KTM bolts, but would be bummed if it was my only option. I imagine lots of those bolts will get changed out for KTM bolts by an owner.
Looks like they did WAAAAY better than Cannondale did! It appears that Triumph actually made a nice, competitive motorcycle. Sounds great, looks good, should have picked SSS fork over the AOS, but sounds like its probably still a good setup. And if it is this good from the get go, its got a great future as they refine it.
I really like this bike. Went from Yamaha to ktm because of the cockpit, at a lanky 6’3 the recent generation Yamahas have felt really cramped. Although I’m liking the ktm I miss the comfort of the Yamaha. If this cockpit is like the ktm I’m super interested.
well the basic parts that you normally replace are generic aftermarket anyway. brembo, protaper, kyb, etc. rims are standard. this isn't a Stark Varg with super unique specs. it might take acerbis/ufo a few months to get their molds.
I hit the skip button a few times on all of Kris' casts. he has a hard time getting started. the podcast version of this impression has a "feels like" of 20 minutes before he actually talks about the bike.
Maintenance intervals? On a bike with an approaching 10,000 RPM 250 engine built for competition? I'm correctly assuming you know ZERO of the service requirements of particularly a motocross bike. But , lemme help you out here! EVERY PHUCKING WEEK! I'm an AMA Amateur National champ so, be weary of your rebuttal.
Hey @nunyabizness8357 you don't need to treat people like that. You're not doing a good job representing our sport. Teach people, don't act like a teenager with a bad attitude.
Not unusual. The farther you run the perch in the closer to the end of the lever you can pull. The closer to the end of the lever you can pull, the lighter the feel because you have more leverage. Looks like the engine control module has been taken off this one so it makes it look further away also.
I get they are putting on some high quality parts on this bike but starting a brand new bike at 9,990 easily over 10,300 with dealer fees is way to much for a bike that hasn’t proving anything. I look at buying one in Minnesota and out the door price was 11,400, you end up putting all those aftermarket parts from triumph on there site at it’s a 13-14k for a 250.
listening to the guy from triumph talk on this week's pulp show, it sounds a bit like ducati. they're marketing to a particular clientele. they're selling a style. the MSRP isn't significantly different from current bikes, imo ($9,995).
Until we start getting reports from individuals who have put their own money down all the reviews are just hot air which is potentially influenced (£/$/€) by the manufacturer.
what percentage octane was the fuel. This makes a huge difference on the way a bike runs and power and low torque casein point look at how the mustangs ran 150 octane in their fuel and dominated the sky’s with the all the extra power.
they talked about this on PulpMX show this week. most of the dirt bike dealers are new to Triumph (as in dealers who already do business with other MX manufacturers). there isn't a huge appeal for street bike dealers to carry these. or that's what the NA Director dude was saying.
So the engine is a carry over then? Y'all are very specific in your word choice of saying "a lot of unique parts" and "mostly new". Thats what were implying here, no?
How does it not have Renthal bars? Protaper? Renthal is English. Also, English motors, known for great reliability.. Triumph street bikes are cool. Now make a 250 smoker
Bike looks great, honestly amazing. Sad team entry for riders though, you think with such a big launch and so much money / talent behind they would be able to purse & pick two riders who will give better results. Js can’t keep the bike on two wheels and ferry isn’t strongest.
Anybody in the comments that would actually buy one of these bikes or actually has the money to buy one just wondering... New bikes today price themselves out.... I make this comment and then 20 seconds later in the video. He says don't be crying about the price in the comments 😅
Just because you can win races doesn’t mean you’re a good motocross bike developer/builder what one guy can do on the track is all about his comfort level. What may be comfortable for Ricky may not be comfortable for you. I think the fact that they can take a look at all the bikes out there, and kind of put the pieces together themselves makes them have a good bike without even Ricky‘s input
yea and they make every single bike that is on the gate… that is why Jett and Hunter are so good… Tomac ended his 23” season on that same bike and Webb left that same brand and rejoined them in 24” they just slap different color plastics on them and call them “KTM”
There is one in Mooresville (Charlotte) at a dealer. Extra fees associated, 1000 down, and then they'll order one. Fit and finish is imbecile. It's crazy how nice it is compared to the other current offerings out there.
man. I appreciate the info, but the preamble is 4 minutes long and it's information you could've conveyed in 4 sentences. edit: matthes' gear was perfect for the bike. well played, sir.
Come one Big Guy (loved that rant), stop bitching about torx, buy a set and problem solved. All of my ebikes and KTMs have torx fittings as well as my cars. Only a pain if you don't have a set. They should have put SAE bolts on it to really irritate people.
Forcing a customer to pay to adjust hardware and software that you have already paid for with the purchase of the bike is the definition of price gouging. F Triumph and every other brand that does this. Why are these two guys so grumpy? They got to ride a bike that almost nobody else has. So many snide remarks and snippiness. Americans don't have Torx? WTF? Yes, a lot of us do.
The tone definitely has a distinct sound, almost like a whistling noise. So far it seems like a good bike. Nice job to all the triumph crew.
Turbo spoolin lolol
I noticed the noise too.I want to make a joke about a hidden turbo
Ktm’s had that whistle a few yrs ago imo. Might still but haven’t heard a new one in person
Camera mic is picking upp that sound more cause the hertz fits that mic, my guess anyway. But sounds like my KTM 450, 2020.
Could have something to do with the airbox design allowing you to hear the air intake more easily.
So awesome to get a broad view of the bike. Having a heavy vet and an old still fast pros point of view is very useful. Most riders are not pros and most are not at ideal weight, thanks. 👍
Awesome to see another manufacturer in the mix.
Steve on the scale represent lots of rider on the weekend warrior side of things, actually cool to see him ride the bike. Good positioning also 🤟🥂
Thanks for coming out. We hope the tracks were good for you guys
Steve has lost some weight well done mate! looking fast.
Bike looks sweet!
Seeing steve ride the bike was actually great, rides like most of us that watch the sport and he looked solid doing it.
I love you two-this is great! Steve rockin’ the flannel!! 😂😊

Hey big guy lookin smooth smooth smooth on that 250
Keefer got me sold!
Nice video. Looks like Triumph made a great first bike.
Steve, you look good bro, take it easy on yourself man.
I do agree the Allen’s and torx bolts everywhere a a big miss. Too easy to round out if there is any sort of contamination in them
Nice flannel Steve. Proud of you for dressing up lmao
A great job by Triumph to bring out a bike so good! Ps. Is that how you pronounce Akropovic? Lol
Steve looking solid 👊🏻

Hardly recognized Steve. Dude looks healthy
Wonder how long they will last compared to a Japanese bike.
Bike of the year or decade. I have a feeling. Keefer podcast he says the rpm build response is fast like a ebike feel or a old carb bike. I here what he’s saying
they need to do a 350!!!!
Great job as a woods rider id really like to see a 350 but i also like what i heard abot the engine on this 250 has a 42 hour recommended service something about the piston design lasting longer thats great esp if the valves dont have to be adjusted all the time

Keefer = high energy
Steve = welllllll
Nice work
Steve is the quickest to criticise guys like Eli doesn’t look like he’s worked out in his life , w he at a d#%k
Bike looks good sounds raspy? Hard to tell on video I want one! Also Build the fast 250f for him!
Hey big guy!
Also you can get different seat if u order it, leave a k at options on site
Nice!
Torx screws will pack up with died mud and will have to be dug out for use. Not a super convenient choice. Maybe they saved a pound of weight using those, who knows?
dried mud, not died. Sorry
Yep gotta hate dead mud lol
My concern exactly. Even hard to wash out Torx heads after mud is dried.
Air gun..
I like the option for Torx on KTM bolts, but would be bummed if it was my only option. I imagine lots of those bolts will get changed out for KTM bolts by an owner.
Did they build it based on inches or millimeters?
If it sounds like that with a factory pipe what does it sound like with aftermarket.
Can someone please tell us how close the motor is to the last gen KTM? It looks so much like it.
The bore and stroke are the same, they did say they took design queue from other manufacturers
@@MrChocalatestarfishit’s a cross between the yz and ktm motors from what I see and have heard.
Hope they build a 350
Me too. With Keefer being involved, hopefully it comes out after their 450.
@@JKrause616 Naa he’s a front end guy

I really like this bike. Went from Yamaha to ktm because of the cockpit, at a lanky 6’3 the recent generation Yamahas have felt really cramped. Although I’m liking the ktm I miss the comfort of the Yamaha. If this cockpit is like the ktm I’m super interested.
How do they stuff the frame up so it doesnt even sit flat on a stand
My only question is, how about parts and service for this bike? Have they already stock in everything that we need to maintain the bike?
Don’t worry once actual paying customers have the bike they will figure out what Ktm parts will fit in the engine.
well the basic parts that you normally replace are generic aftermarket anyway. brembo, protaper, kyb, etc. rims are standard. this isn't a Stark Varg with super unique specs. it might take acerbis/ufo a few months to get their molds.
LOL how is TF250-X a lot of letters? RM-Z250, 250SX-F, MC250F, CRF250r.....etc. Just funny that Kris starts off the video saying that hahaha
I hit the skip button a few times on all of Kris' casts. he has a hard time getting started. the podcast version of this impression has a "feels like" of 20 minutes before he actually talks about the bike.
Hey Matthes, have you ridden the new Beta 450 RX?
What with the whirl? Sounds like the crank twisted is on the way out..
Intake sound
My 06 speed triple sounds just like that bottom end whine.
How is the air filter access? The noise kind of sounds like the balancer shaft gear noise some of the triples have.
exactly like a triple. it's funny as a long time ktm guy with a speed triple in the garage to hear that out of a dirtbike.
Oh ok so Steve can ride a lil 😂😂😂 seen that double
Triumph please supply the bike with a torx T-handle so Steve and everyone else will be happy
As a triumph mechanic I wonder what the maintenance intervals are gonna be

We own sxs's we have torx bits

I haven't seen anyone from Triumph saying that. Just dumb bloggers..
