the animations are really amazing I can see the scenarios of the works of the artist Henrique Alvim Corrêa in it, WHICH MAKES IT MORE INCREDIBLE AND SPECTACULAR EVEN!!
@@achilleswiley He's obviously referring to the scene near the end, when he turns the corner, just as Cruise did in the Spielberg film. He may have also read the book, but you give the impression that you have not seen the film.
Well it's pretty recognised as one of the first true scifi books, plus the alien tripod has become a trope in itself, so I wouldn't call it underappreciated.
This is great! Loved the little nods to the 2005 film, and it's really interesting to finally see these machines in motion. A while back I got my hands on a PDF of Corrêa's original edition, it has a lot more illustrations than the more commonly known ones. I could send it to you if you'd be interested, might help in figuring out the order of the illustrations as well.

I much prefer the appearance of these tripod fighting machines to the ones depicted in the artwork commissioned for Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War of the Worlds. While I love the soundtrack of Jeff Wayne's Musical Version, I always felt that the tripods depicted weren't sufficiently alien in design. They almost looked like something humans would build, if asked to construct a walking tripod machine. These, on the other hand, definitely feel sufficiently weird and frightening.
I kind of agree, but it was the sleek military look of Jeff Wayne's design that made me really scared of the concept. They look insectoid and fast, and those mosquito eyes were quite alien to me! I know that the designs weren't true to the novel, but in principle I think Michael Trim got it correct.
@@scoopidyschloopTo be completely fair, I don't actually"like" this tripod design; I simply prefer it to the ones in Jeff Wayne's Musical Version. The best version of all is the one developed for the upcoming video game, which is itself a derivative of the design from Stephen Spielberg's War of the Worlds film. 😊
Love the way you've animated the fighting machines, as this 1906 design is one of my favourites (I also believe it was HG Wells favourite). Great to see them in action. 👍
3:29 military getting murdered by Martians meanwhile in the background *happy music plays* 3:00(Also the Martian on the right just did a perfect 180 rotation right there and then)
Brilliant work, really enjoying the 2 episodes so far 😁👍 I can see now where James gets his artistic abilities from - I know him from local parkrun a few years back.
Good job at doing this project with war of the worlds 1906 and its great and excellent . I hope you can releases the other martian machines like the martian flying machine and martian handling machine and the martian tripod with the black smoke
love the animation, but it just amazes me of how the Army only had one piece of artillery unit and simply ran away after it exploded, like the wastage of manpower was not worth it ( well I it shouldn't be suprising considering the fact that the army was not expecting such a powerful weapon)
5:45 is this supposed to be a reference to the 2005 film when Ray was running alongside the houses and the tripod passes by and the dad carrying his child passes by
I saw war of the worlds earlier today for the 7th time in a week and realized the man with the child and the tripod walking next to the house which the soldier is hiding behind also happened in the movie I was so confused but still shocked at the same time
The people: running desperately for their lives to not get brutally incapacitated by the heat ray or incarcerated by the Martians Music: nice hip pity hop pity piano
Seeing these Correa Tripods reduce a human to their own skeleton as opposed to the 2005 ones disintegrating you leaving your clothes behind is a lot more disturbing
You must finish the whole story!! Also how come only one tripod has a Heatray and the others do not? That one tripod walking to the side when the Artillerymen are running away is just looking down thinking "I wish I could fire something at them" lol
GIBVE US THE NAMES OF THESE SONGS THEY ARE HOTTER THAN THE HEAT RAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
