I notice that there is use of Swordfish biplanes throughout the video and that there is many other problems. Like the soldiers wearing late WW1 uniforms despite the year being 1913. A Renault FT despite it being 1913 and the firs tone being produced in 1915 I believe (It's either that or 1916-1917), A Silver Rolls Royce armored car despite the first one being made in 1915 and other things that I don't exactly remember.

Honestly this version of the Martians tripods is way scary
Looks to be based on the Brazilian illustrations. H.G. Wells approved of their design himself.
It's reminiscent of the aliens from Majoras Mask, which made it even scarier to me.

Deep investigation found the culprit to be a large pissed off territorial Barn Owl taken way way out of context as well as many other details by group hysteria from the people who encountered it. Interesting story to look up!

- planes did not have machine guns in 1913
- tanks were not a thing in 1913

The thing about the Martian is that humanity was able to defeat the Tripods yet in the new versions of this story the Tripods are ridiculous overpowered

It’s to raise the stakes but it doesn’t really do anything but make the Martians look more incompetent when they come with forcefields and lasers and still fail.
The book even mentions times were the Martians lose battles outside of the narrator’s area, the point wasn’t that the Martians were badasses but that they were just as brutal as some real life colonizers (the book had more socialist leanings like most of Wells’ works).
That's Hollywood for you! The force fields that protect them from gunfire are an annoying and overused cliche that needs to die in a fire! But of course if Spielberg didn't give them shields in his 2005 adaption, the movie would have ended earlier as the U.S. Army would wreck the tripods with their modern tanks and combat jets.

Kinda of reminds me of the book covers that the war of worlds had.
This was actually a fairly decent attempt at a video game adaptation. Okay there are some holes I could pick in this but, in all honesty, they are relatively minor (to me at least); so I’m going to go the “Fallout” route and view this as being an alternate UK time line 😁

This is awesome! War of the Worlds has been one of my all time favorite sci-fi, alien invasion stories, and this game really captures the unique horror to it.

While I really appreciate these short Sci-Fi/Horror homage experiences from Stefano Cagnani using Unreal 4, they all feel far too similar. Not just because they're black and white, or 50's pulp either, but because of the re-used assets. Which is also why he can pump these out so fast, and he has quite the cache now. It's depressing knowing these are simply tech-demos, and not actual projects. Regardless...can't argue with _War of the Worlds!_

This is very well done! Imagine if a studio took these classics and put them into console VR! The black and white are perfect for setting up the feel for the atmosphere.
pretty cool game though there seem to be some anachronisms, such as the use of the m1 garand, the adrian helmet (which was used by the french and not the british as far as i'm concerned) and also the renault tank that was on the battlefield. asides from that it seems pretty well done.
