I especially loved it when other players got talkative with the taunts. "I just slaughtered that guy!" "You like that?" "Yeah, bitch." "Roger that." "Hah hah hah!"
What a flashback man.... I wanna cry... In an era where Internet was not a main service in homes over here this game was pure gold ... The maps, the music, everything was just perfect
At the time? Show me a better arena shooter released before or since UT. All of them are either ripoffs of UT or Quake3 (which, with its complexity of a stick, looks poorly in comparison), taking the best parts of those games and not improving anything much (apart from the graphics, which on the other hand are sometimes TOO flashy).
I'd imagine the Redeemer would have a safety, nobody would want to nuke themselves with their massive gun of death that's in their magical arena shooter backpack.
This is the kind of music that prevents rage quits. Instead, no matter how many times you go down, get fragged, fall off cliffs and accidentally suicide, you always spam the fire button immediately afterwards to get right back into it, screaming in adrenaline filled excitement, blood-lust surging through your veins, demanding your enemies' pulped heads on a platter and unending revenge.
I once blasted Xan 10-0 on the second hardest difficulty...Only to be blown out of his ship the following playthrough on max difficulty. The amount of reflexes and quick thinking UT demanded was insane.
Ahh....dodging buzz saws from Reapers, getting blown to bits by the shock cannon combo, jumping over 30 feet into the air in low grav, only to be blasted apart by cluster rocket fire, mini gunning the hell out of your best friend in CTF, Flak Monkeying into a killing spree, only to watch it all end when someone Redeems you in the face. Good Times, man. Good times. God, I feel a little old all of a sudden.
God, I love the agression in that song. Gibbing people with a flak cannon then running through the red cloud towards the next enemy while listening to this was an unbelievably satisfying experience.
Iván Astigarraga Same thing with me back in the day. Everybody was playing CS 1.6, but I was one of the "weirdos" that liked UT more than any other game.
As a kid this and some other tracks from UT/Quake and Command&Conquer indirectly prepared me for becoming what i now am. !A totally fanatic Junglist..! Used to play UT as a kid, school LAN was our life, lol. Good times, good times. Our principal kicked butt, he allowed us to form a club which was entitled to stay after school and have access to the school network & puters. Now that I think of it, what a progressive man he was! What the heck? In eastern, rural Finland, in the 90's? Whhhaaat! What actually happened? :S lol, should give him a call and give huge props. I never really thought of this 'till now! The game that revolutionised competitive FPS. Well, one of them. This and Quake 3 Arena were top tier, but UT edges it for me. Partly due to the excellent soundtrack! This song work with Fallout 4's Mass Fusion building. Grab the macguffin, start tge song and go. I promise you'll hear the iconic line from UT in your head. "Anybody else want some?!" Oh, and one last point: it didn't matter how bad you might have been at the game or even just in that match, when this song came on, you just went in! You. Went. IN!!
I don´t know what happened to music in gaming, but I play a lot of games nowadays and none of the music are as memorable as these. I know all of these songs by heart!
I think my favorite part of this game was playing it to completion, and then discovering just how much more expansive it is on multiplayer with the customer maps.. I remember getting addicted to the monster levels and the obstacle courses. So much fun.
Now that i work as a lawyer, i still listen to this in my phone to make it through the day without killing everyone... every time i screw things up or things arn't going my way, i remember that with this song were no rage quits or things like that, the only thing u had to do is to respawn and go with boiling blood to face ur enemies until they exploded by ur flak cannon or with ur pistol... good memories, and thx to this song i remain young everyday as a young fps from the heart gamer...

Shippoyasha I disagree actually. Just look at bulletstorm...
Nicolas Masson Well, Bulletstorm was so gleefully goofy though.
Shippoyasha I didn't say it was bad, I loved that game to death. Just saying that games aren't necessarily affected by "political correctness" :)
Nicolas Masson Well, I hope you're right. The PCness in gaming journalism just seems out of control these past few years.
This song epitomized the "essence" that was Unreal Tournament.
This true. Also kinda Quke-ish feel.
Aw what ta heck all UT99 music is UT-ish !
enigma4430 hahaha yeah this game was the best
Sennheiser woman said "volume max" :(
If it’s on the unreal engine we’re in this together T_x
I'd disagree. The most "Unreal-ish" songs I recollect are Foregone Destruction and Firebreath.
What a flashback man.... I wanna cry... In an era where Internet was not a main service in homes over here this game was pure gold ... The maps, the music, everything was just perfect
Jaime Navidad True man...true!
And it still is if you ask me 😈
Dude ur 100% right, that was the time of - everything is perfect
You know whats funny? This game unironically has better AI than every game thats put out these days.
Dont cry.
Just die.
Its really just that simple.

Man, I absolutely LOVE this 8-bit-esque sequencer bouncing from one side to the other.
shit is hype, really love the synths
It's insane, I always lock in on this.
All I think about is the............ FLAK CANNON!!!!!
Hrag Farra nothing more satisfying than "decoring" your enemies with melting metal pellets at a fucking high speed
How about blowing their head off with a single bullet while they're trying to hit you with their cute little pellets ;]
HEADSHOT!!!
EndriuC Or wiping them from existence with the Redeemer missile.
Nighty was ripped to shreds by Melissa's Flak Canon
This game was the best at the time, I played this game exclusively for about 3 years. Good memories.
Yeah, me too. hahaha
This and Return to Castle Wolfenstein

"Try turning the safety off!"
that taunt stuck with me since i first played UT99 - still say it to ppl i kill in games to this day
Levyafan I don't think any of the weapons in UT would have safety mode, except for maybe the Enforcer.
I'd imagine the Redeemer would have a safety, nobody would want to nuke themselves with their massive gun of death that's in their magical arena shooter backpack.
"Loser!"
"I'm sorry, did I blow your head apart?"
This game was, is and will always be, the ultimate FPS.
You got that right, the original FPS GOAT.
I know it's 11 years, but you, friend are STILL not wrong!
Track so hype.
Best shooter ever. Better than everything before and since.
That is what is called - perfection
Q3A smoked it for breakfast...
@@helladankseedco.2411 both are great

Still playing Ut99 with this music ! :D

Me too, because why should I say "good memoires" when I still play it
Петар Стојановић yeah i still playing this cause have great music.
That's the shit! \m/

When you hear 'Razorback', you know shit's about to go down.
Everytime.
Oh, hell yeah! Try it in other games, even single players. It can work for Fallout 4, gonna try it with Quake 2 at some point.
"I am the Alpha and the Omega."
Yes you are, in Godlike mode, you fucking are mr. Xan.
i've managed to find an 'normal mode' for me on (forgot the difficulties..been awhile) somewhere 3 difficulties down from the top..
I once blasted Xan 10-0 on the second hardest difficulty...Only to be blown out of his ship the following playthrough on max difficulty. The amount of reflexes and quick thinking UT demanded was insane.

How can you not be filled with power when the riff pumps up at the beginning?
Yeah that opening has stuck with me all these years. What a banger. ❤

God I love this song. I loved Unreal Tournament and I still do. Played it since I was very young, and was my first game.
Thanks for uploading and taking me back to my childhood, a happy UT fragger when I was around 12/13 years of age. Great memories.
The FPS GOAT. CoD doesnt even hold a candle.
