    Great demo of this drill Chris. The overhead shot, combined with the graphics work makes it clear and precise to visualize the target zone as you shoot. The overhead cam should be here to stay in all your videos. It’s a great angle for the live straight pool as well.

    Great to see you back with an instructional video. The first drill is one of my favorites, though I still struggle with speed control. I haven’t tried the second one. The third drill, which you didn’t demonstrate, is a real bugger.

    I like to do the 2nd drill, starting at the outermost spots, moving the balls in a spot with each re-spotting. One completed set is stepping in to meet the target zone and back out to the starting point. Starting over with any missed balls.

    Nice video Chris. Question: what are the dots in the rack area?

    • @LilChrisPoolPlayer
      @LilChrisPoolPlayer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Residue from clear reinforcement labels I used as a "template" rack with 1000s of straight pool attempts on them. My felt is about 4 years old now, and I'm hoping to get it changed really soon.

  • @jonasbygden

    I've seen this a couple of times, Rollie Williams was given this drill by both Hunter Lombardo and Ralf Eckert and neither of those had the constraints of not hitting the long rail, only don't touch another ball, just get back into the "box"...

    • @LilChrisPoolPlayer
      @LilChrisPoolPlayer  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's fine and all, I even mention in an old livestream that going 2 rails is also an option. I also mention how when I do drills I try to stick to just using one skill which is pretty much what I was going for in this demonstration.

  • @AnotherMomentWithDave
    @AnotherMomentWithDave 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great Video Chris thank you so very much! Do you have a video that explains why the top,, left spin or right did what it did to the cue ball "off the rails? I understand that top spin make the ball roll after hitting the object ball, And stun stops the cue ball and draw pulls it back but lost after that?

      Here's an older video of mine that should help answer your question

    What is the best way to clean up my stroke and Stance and preshot routine...thanks neal from rincon ga

    • @LilChrisPoolPlayer
      @LilChrisPoolPlayer  ปีที่แล้ว

      The bottle drill is good for cleaning up your stroke. Take a bottle and practice shooting into the bottle without touching the bottle. The opening of the bottle is your "cue ball". Stroking to the middle of the bottle, without touching the bottle, practices your follow through.
      For stance and preshot routine, I would record yourself and shoot the same shot multiple times. Then go over the recording to see if you keep doing everything the same way. If you're not, you should be able to figure out what to fix.

    where can i get the reinforcement dots you are using on the table in this video?

    • @LilChrisPoolPlayer
      @LilChrisPoolPlayer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those are just generic reinforcement labels that you can get from any office department area or store.

    • @sim672
      @sim672 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s what I thought they were lol but didn’t know if there was some special kind you needed because they are being used on the pool table felt! Thanks & I love your vids very helpful!

    How much do you account for throw when you use inside spin?

    • @LilChrisPoolPlayer

      I don't really unless I'm hitting more than half the object ball

    A Drill I Can Try With The Icue Ball That I Have!!!!

  • @jbart9309
    @jbart9309 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Love the overhead view. One recommendation: your sticker placements don’t look totally exact. Get two cheap laser levels - I bought a pair of Amazon brands for $14 apiece - to line up your stickers almost perfectly. Has helped me a lot.

    • @LilChrisPoolPlayer
      @LilChrisPoolPlayer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stickers are laid with a laser level

    • @jbart9309
      @jbart9309 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LilChrisPoolPlayer Hah! Should have figured you being that precise. Sometimes overhead views can be a bit deceiving to the eyes. Hated doing stickers for drills until I got the levels.

  • @ThePrufessa
    @ThePrufessa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    A good third version is to mix the object ball positions up so that you're doing both techniques in each drill. Which would be more realistic from a game standpoint where you're going to have balls in different positions to make as you progress through a rack.
