14:34 She was right. There is no meat in Çiğ Köfte. The original recipe includes meat but it is forbidden to make it for commercial purposes with meat anymore because of health concerns. So it is %100 vegeterian. It only includes bulgur ( a type of grain ), tomato souce and spices. 13:51 SOS means sauce in Turkish. But good guess 🤣
Didnt anyone in the restaurant tell you the cig kofte was vegetarian..in lebanon they call it kibbe nayee..or raw kibbee and they do make it with raw meat..head to lebanon for some amazing food! Plus most speak english there.. 😀
Actually funnily enough after we read about Cig Kofte online and saw it was raw meat originally we didn’t go any further with our questions or research 🤣😅. I’ve heard so many great things about Lebanon and definitely have it on my list for the future! Thanks for watching 🙂🙏🏼
You are absolute troopers for eating such a variety of food in one day! Turkish food looks delicious. Loved the spice market and turkish delight stalls. I would love to visit the Basilica Cistern, a spectacular place.
Have you guys been to Macka park? 10 minute walk north of Taksim square, Its really beautiful and behind it is a really upmarket area worth checking out.
We haven’t actually! We left Istanbul about a month ago (I know we’re pathetically behind on our videos 😅) but we may head back before we leave Turkey! Thanks for the recommendation!
15:35 That is absolutely OK to eat it that way. You can eat it with or without the thin bread but it is very common to innclude lettuce and lemon to give it some freshness.
@@inner_goddess_healing_centre we’ve considered making a video like this! Maybe in the future when we feel like we can share the story in a fun way! But we met while travelling, I can say that 😁
1:56 - 2:04 I thought I was watching an advert for a Turkish Pancakes on the Tv 😂 (Put it on TikTok) I like the new video approach, can you send me some of that Turkish food? Great vid Btw! Ps. 12:15 was that Laurens stomach making that noise? 😁
Nice video. By the way, According to Ottoman news paper, Medusa's tomb was there(BASILICA CISTERN). Her body was exhumed in the 18th century then her body was buried in the courtyard of the Fatih Sultan mosque. :)
Again nice video. 08:30 Burma dessert's other name br0th@l dessert. This name comes from the Ottoman period. It is a sweet and crunchy dessert with plenty of syrup so that the men will gain strength and power to those who will enter. Funny name but the fact :)
Sos doesn't mean S.O.S. It literally means "saus" in Turkish. 🤣 And the Çiğ köfte doesn't contain meat anymore. Unless it's homemade. It's basically a vegan dish. The main ingredient is Bulgur.
I went to my doctors last week and said to him that I needed to lose weight. He said, 'just don't eat anything fatty' I replied, 'what like no burgers, chocolate and ice creams etc?' And he said, 'NO Fatty, just don't eat anything!'
Sorry, we can’t speak Turkish unfortunately but we will consider trying to add some translation! TH-cam does offer automatic translation as well but I’m not sure how accurate it is 🙁
We actually had that sooo many times off camera and we wanted to share some different things maybe people from outside Turkey haven’t seen before. Adana Kebap is definitely our favourite though!
What foods would you recommend we try on our trip in Turkey? The more unique the better! 😁

We were watching him this year. Unfortunately his experience couldn’t save us 😭

Both embarrassing facts we learned shortly after 🤣🤣. I wasn’t far off about the sos though! It was slightly spicy 😅😂.

Advice that I need to take seriously here in Turkey 🤣🤣🤣 🫃🏻
