5:44 Levy: "What am I famous for, my friends?" Me: "Getting nervous against GMs and blundering a big advantage?" Levy: "Sacrificing the rook" Me: "Oh yeah, that too"
As a 102 rated chess player and being the world champion for -67 second i can confirm that the things taught by magnus to levy is good material i am happy to see that magnis is still good at thsi game and i still ahve a worty oppinenet
This is a great example of why its important to actually understand the purpose of an opening and adapt to your opponents play rather than just play the opening the same way each time
I thought it would be the Magnus-Sicilian, keeping the naming style of other openings . Not too long ago, a video pointed out the Magnus Swap play, that puts king and queen on each other's home squares .
Levy's sort of like Jake Paul in boxing. All of the professionally players (GMs in this case) don't take him too seriously, but he manages to take it home and beat them, they get very fed up in disbelief and quit for a while (like Uchihovich)
Something i thought it would be cool to see is for Gotham to continue playing games, where he got winning positions and the opponent resigned, against Stockfish and see if he can still win them.
Oh wow. The last game in the video shows the key. "Never play your own position. Play the other color. Figure out what move will make them hate you the most and then play that."
I like these videos where Levy tries new openings and explains his thought process, like with that egg. It's good content if he makes a dumb af move but it expands repertoire
Levy in 17:04 -17:06 with his amazing smile i don't know if it was spontaneus or not but it make my day that was a crazy video i am keeping all that in mind thank you and good luck for the tittles tuesday's you got this !!!
Uchihovich went, "Ah man I'm gonna be a youtube short and it's gonna get 2 million views because this is Gothamchess." and he closed his account in preparation. Lmao.
Bro complimented the opening for his winning success against GMs but didn't know that he was all alone in midgames and endgames. Gotta credit yourself mr Levy, you're GM material. Gotta believe in yourself mr bro! BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!
As someone who got to 1517 elo in 6 months using your videos and free sample courses ( I am 13 btw and got into chess in feb 2023 when i saw 1 gotham video)I grant u the extremely respectable title of contant grandmaster (cgm)
I kinda like how Levy is not a GM because it seems like he is still learning and it makes me want to learn too. GM makes me think they are some ultra genius that I can’t be. Levy is just more relatable. No hate tho on levy I hope he becomes GM 👍✝️
I started watching a year ago and I’m now rated 1200 blitz and I’m just starting to work more on my rapid elo. I’m 1100 right now but I’m winning most my games still. What rating do you think I can expect to reach if I’m 1200 in blitz?
I do this in almost every game just push the pawn knocking the door and sometimes sac pieces to get interesting play as a 1400 opponent generally make mistakes defending their king side
Damn, I learned a lot from this one, I like the way you explane your thought process. Unlike the beginner videos ( wich are very educational) this one has a different flavor
Hmm with the Fianchetto and castle Queenside for White, t's a little bit like Fischer's King's Indian Attack but on the other side of the board. Then you throw in a little early queen strike and that is an interesting line. Deez knights seem to be slightly better here than in the mainline KIA. Aggressive and creative from Magnus of course. Now don't get me wrong, I am a Magnus fan, not my favorite player, but still great. i'm still flying the Kasparov flag as he had a significantly longer reign as #1. Although, Magnus did eventually become slightly stronger. I think even retired Kasparov can still give Magnus a challenge, and no doubt Magnus respects him a lot.
It would've been cool to see several games from Magnus Carlsen rather than just the opening, to see how he plays them and the critical ideas from Magnus himself.
So glad to see magnus helping newer players improve

You see, that’s where it falls apart.
I may play this opening, but I don’t play against Grandmasters, so they don’t play the moves according to plan.
This Magmas guy seems pretty good at chess, to be able to help an IM as an untitled player is crazy, he might be able to reach 1000 elo someday.
If he can help an IM, maybe he'll become an IM one day too, it would be one of the chess stories ever.
i think IM would be hard for Magnus, maybe a CM if he starts to work hard
