Mohammed was trying to explain something but Max didn’t accept. So for half the video Muhammed was trying to help Max understand.
Like the first point, that the universe is tuned for life. Max didn’t understand that and instead he brought up secondary topics that didn’t prove that the universe was not tuned for life.

Surprisingly I actually understood the arguments being presented lol, I feel like an intellectual. I would argue with the agnostic that the example is not flawed, but the concept is. The concept of infinity was shown to be flawed by the mathematical example, which essentially shows that infinity has it’s loopholes.

Infinity...for something to happen in the future that hasn't already happened would suggest that the universe hadn't existed infinitely at all. It suggests it had a beginning and thus there is a possibility for something to happen as the time interval between the beginning and the end grows larger.
Everything that could happen in the future has happened in the past, that's infinity. If you suggest in a infinitely existing universe that something could happen in the future that hasn't happened in the past, then you are suggesting the universe had a beginning.
People don't even think about the core of their beliefs due to the rush of denying everything else.

The study of pure mathematics actually shows us that infinity is real. Not only that but there are infinite infinities, and they're not all equal in size.
Simple logic, if infinity is true, then if me and you were numbers or things in a pool of infinite things or numbers then there must be another combination where me and you exist in but with different other numbers or at least one number. For example im number 0 you are number 1 and our planet is number 3 and friday the day we spoke is number 4, then if infinity is true, we would have this combination with 0 and 1 but with other numbers that resemble other things like 0 1 8 4 being ME YOU THE MOON AND SUNDAY. so we would have me you the moon sunday. That is a very simplified example. If we were to apply this to everything around us then a variable or a number would be assigned to everything from where we stand to how loud we speak to how hot it was and what we were wearing etc... but if infinity was true then there must be another combination where the variable or the number that resembles me you and the conversation exist again. In fact, there is infinite amount of combinations where me you and the conversation occur but under different circumstances around different variables.
Following points refute the possibility of an eternal universe:
1. According to the 2nd law of thermodynamics, entropy (availability of useful energy) of an isolated system always increases. Universe being an isolated system, we can observe that its sources of energy i.e. stars eventually die and their energy is dispersed thereby rendering it useless. If Universe has always existed, all energy would have dispersed by now and we would have had a cold dead universe. In simple terms it can be seen that everything in the universe is undergoing deterioration and destruction. An eternal universe would have completely deteriorated.
2. If universe has always existed, then an infinite amount of time would have passed before the present time. As infinite time cannot pass, hence, Universe could not have always existed.
3. Universe has been observed to be expanding. This indicates that at one point in time (around 13.76 billion years ago) entire Universe came into existence from a supposed singularity. Hence, universe could not have always existed.
4. Causality is the basic principle of Universe. Every occurrence in the Universe has a cause. If universe had always existed, it and everything in it would have had no cause; hence, causality would not have existed as basic principle of the universe.
5. Eternal universe would have been static and unchanging as it would have undergone all possible changes, however, as universe is undergoing constant change hence, it cannot be eternal.
6. Finally, an eternal universe would have been independent of everything else. However, universe (matter, energy and physical laws) is dependent on something external to it which proportioned the laws and matter/energy in fixed ratio and imposed it on the Universe. This dependence of universe on something external to it indicates that universe could not have existed from eternity.

Infinity can and does exist mathematically. Mohammed is an excellent speaker (one of the best I've come across) but he should not be talking about maths if he hasn't studied it and he should definitely not be trying to explain it to someone else who hasn't studied it. Based on what I know :
It seems to me that Allah سبحانه و تعالى created the universe in such a way that we can not come to a definitive answer with regards to the inception of the universe / god's existence.
And that is because similar to the end of days when great signs like the signs of the day of judgement are made apparent to people there's no room for belief, no test when the answers are revealed.
Brother I would advice you to invite people to good deeds as Allah سبحانه و تعالى invited us in the Quran in many ayas.
When you call good people to good deeds god willing they will respond to you. And good people will not find any problem worshiping Allah سبحانه و تعالى after they realise that he is the most noble, the most just and the most kind.

In the example you indicate, you can only prove that infinity can be big and small. If there is a guest, the infinity becomes larger, a person goes away, a guest becomes infinite a person less. What people wanted to prove in this thought experiment is that even infinity has no fixed size. That in principle it has no effect on infinity because infinity is without calculable volume, mass or time. Do not always call upon scientists who do not claim what you say.

I really dislike how they always assume that he is going to jump about God in one form or another, but that doesn't matter. Its irrelevant, what matters is the argument, if the argument is valid, and you accept the premise, then you cannot deny it just because you don't like the conclusion. Ofcourse that does not mean that you have to believe in it, but at the same time, doesn't mean its false just because it has the concept of a God in it.

Open minded person here with no bias, just an alternative perspective. The muslim guy asks 'Is the universe finely tuned for life to exist?' and then bases his whole argument of probability around that initial question. Asking a question that steers the debate in such a direction, i.e. away from where it could otherwise bring it's own critique, is a common tactic of anybody trying to prove a point that they themselves cannot conclusively prove, the goal being to simply make the other person's argument seem implausible enough to make their own viewpoint appear to be the truth. The question he asked here is a leading question which implies that the universe has been tuned (finely tuned or otherwise). It is fact that life exists, so to answer 'no' to this would seem crazy until you think about it in more depth.... ie. you consider an alternative question - not has the universe been finely tuned for life to exist, but have the universe's living creatures been finely tuned in order to exist within the universe?
You ask that question and it makes the evolutionary argument seem far more plausible, because 'finely tuned' doesn't have to mean that a god created the finished product, it could be that through evolution each living creature has evolved to it's current finely tuned state. Life obviously only exists within those pockets of the universe where it is possible for it to exist. Out of the whole universe, perhaps only on earth there exists a suitable balance of gases, distance from the sun etc, and therefore perhaps only on earth are living creatures able to exist. With all the millions and millions of stars, planets, galaxies etc out there, if only earth is habitable then you can argue that living creatures have evolved to exist in this universe (on earth).
We can see evolution every day, for example antibiotics becoming useless due to 'resistant' strains of bacteria evolving. Humans getting taller every generation.
As a side note, we can't know for sure whether we all evolved from single cell organisms or from a god's design - it is always going to be a case for debate. As such, the speakers in these debates need to be a bit more humble as their demeanour and the way they talk often come across as very arrogant. Ultimately none of us really know 100% - we either have faith in the books, or faith is the assumptions of science, and therefore trying to speak as if you have the authority to try and make the other person appear dumb is not cool. I know myself from personal experience that as Muslims (and I assume the same with Christians etc too) you are nurtured over the years to be able to comfortably debate and argue these points, so I guess that having only ever been told repeatedly that one thing is true then I guess that is where the arrogance with one's own point of view comes from. It would also generally explain why religious people would generally be better at arguing these points than none religious people.
You should go in and talk to him about that, I'd love to hear his response to this. I'm sure it would open your eyes a little...
