The king cheetah is not even a sub-species but just a coat morph. Also some of the extinct "subspecies" were actually no subspecies but just a different population elsewhere (for example the bali and javan tigers are both the same subspecies like the still living sumatran tiger). Not that it is less frustrating that most populations or species that are extinct were mostly if not all caused by humans. In fact the wild barbary lion is heavier than the Siberian tiger, the largest weight of the Siberian tiger is recorded at 300 kg, while the largest barbary lion in the wild is recorded at 300 kg but some confirm that the size of the barbary lion in the wild reaches 320 kg maybe even larger, and the American lion larger than the ngandong tiger, the largest ngandong tiger weighs 470 kg, while the largest american lion weighs 520 kg.
Blud Siberian tigers go up to 320kg.
so sad that we loss the babarian lion my grandmother use to tell me stories about this wonderfull creature and how he was so big and wild , and how its dad camel was killed by a barbarian lion

North America‘s eastern cougar is rare to the point where they classify it as extinct but I myself have seen tracks as recently as last year. They’ve just gotten better at avoiding people.
There are a couple hundred in Florida, and they estimate about a hundred scattered throughout other states.
I'm not sure why they are using it here as a different species. It's the same cat as the ones on the west coast. It's not even a sub species.

Human society today is free from most diseases and food problems. With the exception of only a few countries, human civilization has never been more prosperous. That is why I believe that we humans must ensure that these beautiful cat species are protected. Furthermore, I hope that our next generation, and the next generation of human descendants, will continue to see these magnificent cat species that actually come to life with humans in real life as we are now, rather than through photographs, books, and videos. 🐯🦁🐆
Props to the camera guy for taking these photos of all the cats. I wonder how old he is
The Smilodon Populator is barely larger in size than the Siberian Tiger, yet weighs more than almost anything else on the list. Imagine the muscle strength that thing has. I can certainly believe they brought mammoths down.
thats why its my favorite cat, because while it as long if not a tiny bit shorter in body length and a bit taller in shoulder height than a modern lion, its bones were more robust than any cat that had ever lived, which made it weigh twice as much as a modern lion
No that's fatalis that's the size of a siberian tiger or african lion. smilodon populator would only get alot bigger than a siberian tiger

Leopard will easily kill a cheetah
@Zalika The Hyena Yes dummy, he does know that lol why are you mad
@Samer Abukhalaf I think most female leopards can kill a male cheetah. But the male cheetah would runaway anyway
I'm especially interested in whatever happened about 10k years ago in the Americas as at least 3 big cat species went extinct during that area.
It is a subspecies of subspecies

You mean South American Cat-Kong
Hello! The King Cheetah (listed in video as "Acinonyx rex") is not a separate species. It is merely a coat/pattern variation as a result of a recessive gene. You can have "kings" and normal cubs in the same litter. And this is not new news!
10:20 At this moment, when the sound started, i just realized that it was the most relaxeful video i've ever watched!

I really like the format and it teaches interesting things. I'll only have a few criticisms; videos are a little boring, maybe the presentation style can be made more fun. In addition, the articles are not easy to read, and trying to read is tiring. A very nice and instructive channel especially for people who are interested in animals like me. I wish everyone a happy 2021!!!
It breaks my heart to think that many of the current (surviving) big cats will soon be drove to extinction because of the destruction of their habitats and poaching by us humans. May god be with this world as a whole and may I pray that humanity finds salvation.
Our ancestors had to compete with them, and the humans won without sharp teeth and claws.
Amazing.
