      Honestly, the manga on thats one reason why I prefer the manga version of the tournoment of power, Roshi before going down, showed goku a bit of the ultra istinct, and thus showed why hes gokus master, it wasnt like goku UI but it wasnt the same with kamehameha was it? I really dont know why they didnt show this in the anime, it would be a way to represent Roshi again as a realy good, not only figher, but coach for goku

    Roshi is an inspiration as far as mentors should be. He created one of the most iconic moves in anime but beyond that. Without him Goku wouldn't have the hunger to keep being stronger, to train to be better. Without him Krillian wouldn't the honored monk he is today with values we can all respect. While many see Goku as their inspiration to be the best we can be don't forget he learned it for Muten Roshi Founder of the Turtle School of Martial Arts. Work hard, study well, eat and sleep plenty for it is the Turtle Hermit Way and should be honored. A great mentor like Roshi can do more than the protagonist for the lessons one can teach can transcend lifetimes.

But one thing I did hate about was how Roshi was handled, Granted I was ok with him taking the back seat but besides some moments Roshi was only treated like an old pervert. Master Roshi is a beloved character in my eyes. Yeah he's a pervert but it's anime so that's normal however he's a second father figure to Goku and Krillin, taught them everything he knows while still learning from his students. The Kamehameha was his greatest attack and has become the move of the turtle school. All of this is what makes him almost sacrificing himself to win the tournament of power so much more powerful and gives the attack he created such meaning.

    That is beautiful. Taking all the best moments of Roshi. It can be hard to remember there is a wise master under the 'dirty old man' troupe we usually see.

    • @Wote89
      @Wote89 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's interesting, too. Because the implication by the end of Super is that the "dirty old man" was largely Roshi having done exactly what Ganos said: accepted his limitations and retired. It's fascinating how one of the biggest complaints about DBZ is that the humans just kinda accept their place in the pecking order and then DBS spends a good bit of time with them basically going "Yeah, screw that."

    He was amazing, he did stuff humans shouldn’t do, he had something hidden or maybe could not teach that made him powerful and makes sense to me why human and saiyan have kids that are strong, you think that blood line will get diluted but seems they have some other strong energy. Gohan went crazy and the kids getting strong and learning super and young age. It’s kinda beautiful.

    I haven't kept up with dragon ball almost at all. Aside from watching a couple episodes of the beginning as a child I have barely kept up with the story so I cant say Im invested. All that said and this still brought a tear to my eyes. Even someone who has never watched the series and come to love it as much as anyone else can still understand the relationship between a teacher and his pupils.
