And at the end when goku and frieza scream together you see him jump into SSJ right before the scene fades out. This just proves, the louder you scream the stronger you get, no matter what situation you are in. Just scream to boost your level.
In a practical sense, screaming actually tends to activate your flight or fight response which will literally make you stronger due to a rush of adrenaline

@@metroid308 Yeah, it`s kinda poetic, isn`t it? Super had it`s crappy parts, but this fight is one of the most epic Dragon Ball moments of all time, and I`m old school. GT is full crappiolla, only good thing about it is Super Saiyan 4 design and the soundtrack, the rest was crap, nothing epic about it.
Cause Vegeta and Goku during the tournament always fought NEXT to eachother and never actually WITH eachother. I always tell people baring fusion if goku n Vegetas tag team moves got to the level of like Naruto and Sasuke in Boruto they would be unstoppable
10 years ago If anyone told me there would be a day when goku and frieza would fight side by side to save the world i'd probably laugh myself to death. This was epic.
I feel what was even more funny and epic at that same time is that when they fought side by side, they were able to completely slot into each others attacking style to keep up constant pressure. Where one's punch ended, the other was already there with a follow up. It's something that Vegeta and Goku haven't been able to master, and that expression of Vegata's face says that much - both of them were completely in sync and he has never been able to do that because he's a lone warrior in his heart.
A small detail im not sure most will have noticed during this fight is that Freeza loses the same portion of his tail that is missing during his final fight with Goku on Namek. This happens after Goku launches Freeza at Jiren and the two collide into the arena, if you pause at 5:55 you can see he is now missing this portion of his tail where before he was not. It is an interesting call back to Namek and his history with Goku, particularly since Goku goes Super Saiyan one last time as they both take out Jiren.
There was a lot of callbacks to namek during this arc. Such as toppo punching frieza just like ssj goku did, frieza standing on the rocks just like he did when he was about to kill krillin, and also what you said

6:21 That one scene gives me goosebumps, they both take on the form that showed them both what power was, goku learnt how to transform, and Frieza learnt that he needed to train during Namek, eek I'm bouta fangirl
The music going somber when Jiren briefly overpowers them and goes after 17, and then picking up again exactly when Frieza being thrown and again when Goku dives in forcing himself into SSJ is too perfect to convince someone outside the fandom that this isn't the original soundtrack for the fight
There is something so beautiful about the best evil villain of DBZ becoming part of the hero crew in DBS. Goku never hated Frieza, he gave him multiple chances even when he shouldn't have. But Frieza always hated Goku, even before he knew him. This type of story is why anime is so great, it allows character to tell stories over generations, one in which the worst villains can become heroes
Honestly, my favourite part about this is that going by the manga, once resurrected Frieza _doesn't_ join the hero team. He goes right back to what he was always about, because, like Goku, he's never doubted who he is. Sometimes a lack of character evolution can be a positive thing. Their certainty causes other characters - Tenshinhan, Piccolo, Vegeta - to change _because_ of them. Frieza immediately goes back to being a villain because he never wasn't, he just had a goal to reach. And that's honestly for the better.
@@sporeceress1465 I like Frieza as a character because he isn't cartoonishly evil. He wants to rule the universe and he will do what he needs to to get that. If someone disrespects him or gets in his way, he will kill them. But he has standards, in DBS Broly, he doesn't just yeet an energy ball at Earth, he actually goes down and challenges Goku and Vegeta.
I like how they chose super saiyan for when they sacrificed themselves since purple and yellow are complimentary colors Edit: this is the reason I don’t like db fans I’m complimenting the color pallet and then they do the classic *pushes up glasses* and says it’s because somthing else

"It was a gamble if I survive the explosion." Yeah no. Actually krillin wished the bomb inside him to be gone after cell so he can't even self destruct. Gladly the manga pointed that out lol
I think it was because 17 essentially pulled of something akin to Majin Vegeta's Final Explosion, just pouring all of his energy out to cancel the attack.
In this case the implication was that Frieza might be intending to use an attack powerful enough to destroy the both of them (though he both wasn't intending that and wasn't capable). That's not comparable to Namek, where Frieza was only content with blowing up the planet because he could survive in space and Goku couldn't.
Will always love the final moments of ToP. RIP to my favorite villains VA! The fun and laughter you brought to me and my friends will continue. May you rest easy , Frieza.
Despite the arc not being perfect, it finished as perfectly as possible. It even finishes Jiren's arc of misunderstanding that Trust was the power all along, where he realises that despite him not trusting anyone, U11 put all their trust in him and he done good on that promise, and Jiren's flaw in the end was underestimating trust in others.
What I love best about this is that the compositing between the music and the shots of U7 and Jiren really highlight that the stakes and motivation is the same for both parties, and that it literally could not be higher. They're all protagonists in their own right during this scene.
Exactly. Most of the DBZ villains were always fighting alone. Goku’s friends may have cheered him on in the end, but the villain always died alone. Here, while Jiren is about to be defeated by Frieza, he received some last minute encouragement from Toppo and literally ends up being motivated the same way Goku was all these years. Basically, this is what would’ve happened if the opponent himself has to fight to protect someone
I'm utterly blown away by how absolutely perfect the sound mixing in this video is. To say this is probably the single best version of the "You Say Run Goes With Everything" meme would do this video a GREAT disservice.
Seeing Goku use the last final bit of his energy to try and reach Super Saiyan but he's so weakened that he can't even maintain that basic SSJ1 form was a really nice touch. Especially after all the progress he made. He was absolutely wiped out and I think they conveyed it really well.

It is an interesting call back to Namek and his history with Goku, particularly since Goku goes Super Saiyan one last time as they both take out Jiren.

@@sporeceress1465 I mean he is basically space hitler

It even finishes Jiren's arc of misunderstanding that Trust was the power all along, where he realises that despite him not trusting anyone, U11 put all their trust in him and he done good on that promise, and Jiren's flaw in the end was underestimating trust in others.
@@DekuStickGamer I mean, no arc is never perfect, but yeah I agree

Exactly. Most of the DBZ villains were always fighting alone. Goku’s friends may have cheered him on in the end, but the villain always died alone.
