My work provided this set to me. I personally like it and its a big step up from the sk sets that they used to issue us.
If they were the newer SK sets I could believe that.
Just bought a full TEKTON 3/8 set with the breaker bar. I didn't have enough cash to dedicate a seperate set to 1/2" but needed a 24mm to change oil filters and TEKTON fit all the bills. Definitely worth a look imo.
The Tekton does appear to be a nice set for the money. I’d be interested in how well their ratchet compares. 👍🏻
That's a boss deal if it goes on sale for $99.
It does pretty regularly around the holidays. Sometimes as low as $75. 👍🏻
Got mine during the Christmas holiday for $99, liked it so much I picked up the 1/4 set and put them both in packout. The squared design is good and keeps them from rolling away. The ratchet has a nice contour grip and I like the closed head.
Glad to see you liked your sets as well. These are really solid sets. 👍🏻
Very good value. Bought it, because of the slim case with a lid that opens flat and functions as a tray. I might get the 32 piece metric only set or just the case and tray if I can find it.
Yes I have mine in my toolbox closed up and ready to go. It’s a great set made by a great tool company. 👍🏻
I do like the Milwaukee socket sets and the ratchets without the comfort grip. Bit pricey over here in the UK in comparison to other sets, and don't usually see too many offers on them.
I didn’t know they sold them over in the UK 🇬🇧. I could only imagine they would still be a pricier set there as well. 👍🏻
6:20 You say “sizing wise 1/4” drive up to 1 inch” - Is it 3/8” set? Seems 1” for 1/4 drive is not normal
Sorry it’s a 3/8 drive set. Thank you for catching. 👍🏻
do you recommend these over the milwaukee shockwave impact
Two different fields of use. Impacts belong on a gun and chrome sockets you don’t want to impact. If you like both get both. 👍🏻
I keep this kit in my car tool kit, onlu complaint is the ratchet has bound up on me before.
@@LilasTools good place to keep it. I’ve never had mine bind up. Might be worth reaching out to warranty.
I have the packout version, BUT I do feel like Milwaukee sets are waaaaaay overpriced. Seems like they are more than all of the other mid-grade brands
Yes their list price is up there. When on sale they are a great buy.
I watched a video with multiple different ratchets been tirque ti breaking point with a hydraulic ram and the Milwaukee ratchet was string as 💩, beat out the ither most notibke brand wueth from Germany ti come out in top. I think it failed where the socket connects ti the ratchet at 577kg force of i remember right, so around 1300lbs
@@Palpac there are some tests out there where the Milwaukee has come out on top or near the very top. Project Farm is one of those tested. Milwaukee makes a great ratchet! 👍🏻
I want to get these or tekton
Both are great choices. 👍🏻
A lot of people would empty that case and it will end up in the landfill so why not sell in a packout, yes more expensive but better around.
Depends on if you’re a Packout guy or not.
I keep the case absolutely don't want those crappy pack out cases
@@mikedewsberry1774 I get that. Packout isn’t for everyone.
Dewalt's sets are bigger, more variations, and less expensive..so, there's that...I have a 1/4" Milwaukee set and it's good.. but the DeWalt sets are a better deal...
I would agree that you get more with the Dewalt sets. I have a few myself but the overall quality of the sets goes to Milwaukee. They are noticeably higher quality especially the Taiwan sets.
@thingsmen depends on the person..the Dewalt sets are nice fit and finish and also Taiwanese...☝️
@boosted2.4_sky I agree, the quality difference isn't massive between the sets. Both are very comparable. The price is better on the dewalt, constantly cheaper and on sale. I would say the Milwaukee has a better case/stack, dewalts blowmolded case is meh and the Tstak case is also meh.
The square shape is to wrench it not so it rolls away
Adds bulk and harder to reach certain fasteners, especially interior parts
Correct. Although not sure it helps that much.
@@thingsmensome small fasteners have shallow heads. Especially 7mm on ford and mazda distributor packs . These milwaukee have too much chamfer for that. They can remove, but with extreme attention to detail. There's a reason icon removed much of the chamfer. You're too young to know anything.
Also, the front plate on the ratchet with two screws, it's way weaker than a snap ring. The "old school" snap ring design is what gear wrench uses on its slim ratchets.... and it's actually more expensive to machine a groove for the snap ring.......companies move away from it for cost, not quality.
Gearwrench 106pc is a better set. That 56pc set is adequate for $99 when on sale, nothing special
Thanks for sharing. I have a couple Gearwrench sets and although the quality is good. This set takes it up a notch. 👍🏻
@@thingsmenI also own several, the quality on the gearwrench 90 set of sockets and especially the ratchets is better
I agree the 106pc gearwrench set is way better
